The reason the amounts are like that is because you get bigger money for beating better competition. Stables whose fighters fight a lot of journey men might have a nice record but its not really relevant to the level they have been fighting.
You're right, I did reset, my mistake and my apologies, my memory is horrible. I understand the argument for fighting ranked fighters, but how many times does that happen a year when two ring ranked fighters fight each other? Maybe once a month. I'm not saying the values should be the same, but when one fight is worth $28,000 for a win and another is $100, there's no way for everyone to have a chance of winning.
I see where your coming from but it also goes the other way. You can lose that amount just as easy. JT Rock sat atop most of last year but the loss for Pavlik to Hopkins toppled him!!!
I think the secret is to form a stable with a few guys who will fight top competiton, a few who are on the border line & some that fight regularly & have the potential to break through. Plus keep & eye on unranked fighters who will be meeting ranked opponents & are live dogs e.g. Bradley, Santos, Gonzalez or V. Klitschko.
In the end mate I feel its not about winning but keeping your stable in good form!
I sat steady at 2nd all year:D

Fair enough, I appreciate the work you put into this and will play regardless, it is fun. I'm not gonna bang my drum anymore on the scoring it's your game afterall. Glen Johnson's loss killed me as well and since I didn't have any more money I was screwed for the rest of the season.
I know where your coming from. I was down because of Salado's loss but Roman Gonzalez got me back into it. Good luck. From the money you'll make from Mares you should be able to pick up another fighter or two & I've got Marquez over Diaz so you should be on fire come end of March!!!!

Re: Fantasy Boxing 2009 (Read 1st pg for rules & stable details)
Galaxy, would it be possible to list all the upcoming fights involving claimed fighters at the start of every month or week? If it's not too much work that is. That will give us plenty of time to claim fighters etc.
-
Re: Fantasy Boxing 2009 (Read 1st pg for rules & stable details)
I'll go 12.3k on Montiel.Love the name btw ;D

I was thinking of doing something like this every Monday:
THIS WEEK IN ACTION
We’ve got:
Friday 9 January 2009
Odlanier Solis representing THE LEFTOVERS KO8 Kevin Burnett
Earns THE LEFTOVERS $100
'2004 Olympic gold medalist shows glimpses of his talent against 6'6 Burnett before ref stops precedings in the 8th.'
_
Yuriorkis Gamboa representing THE LEFTOVERS KO10 Roger Gonzalez
Earns THE LEFTOVERS $100
'Gamboa survives 2nd round knockdown & uses outstanding speed & power to take Gonzalez out in the 10th.'
Saturday 10 January 2009
Zsolt Erdei (no stable) (Starting bid $6,000) W12 Yuri Barashian
‘Erdei's speed proves to much for Barashian on the way to unanimous verdict.’
_
Denis Inkin (no stable) (Starting bid $2,000) L12 Karoly Balzsay
'Unbeaten stable mates put on a good show but Balzsay's harder shots prove the difference in close fight causing minor upset.’
Sunday 11 January 2009
Bernabe Concepcion representing THE LEFTOVERS KO5 Sande Otieno
Earns THE LEFTOVERS $100
‘Philippine standout impresses for The Leftovers with dominant 5th round stoppage.’
