Re: Floyd Mayweather Says "Hatton will whoop Manny's ass"
what i think guys, this match between them is a good time for Pacquiao to prove more of himself. Actually that's what I have said about him right before his fight with Oscar but of course I was disappointed about the fight because I am not expecting that kind of fight. I just can't wait until May to come.
Re: Floyd Mayweather Says "Hatton will whoop Manny's ass"
Here's what I see....
#1 Manny Pacquiao is a high energy fighter who works every second of every round.
#2 Ricky usually fades in his fights OR he takes rounds off
#3 The Southpaws Ricky has fought haven't been of the best class of fighters: Malinaggi with his brittle hands, Urango no jab and wide punches, Collazo who damn near KO'd Ricky doesn't have much power. Manny Pacquiao has high energy, high punch output, and when he lands it does damage....he has stopped people when it shocked EVERYONE....De la Hoya, Morales, Barrera...Manny is a tough fighter.
#4 I have yet to see Ricky pressured to use what he has learned (if anything) from Mayweather Sr.
#5 Ricky's healthy living between fights is a big issue, if he is "Ricky Fatton" again then his career with suffer from it. Either he'll have to take rounds off or he'll stop moving his head or using angles to get in and work
#6 I will say that a prepared Ricky Hatton is a dangerous fight for Manny Pacquiao. Ricky has fast hands, he goes to the body well, and he has a good chin.

#1 Absolutely
#2 Not for this fight! Ricky plans 12 weeks to get ready.
#3 True
#4 No one has to pressure Hatton he just keeps coming forward because his best skill in on the inside and that is what he ultimately wants to use. Defensive training is a smoke screen.
#5 Again not for this fight. Ricky wants this one. This will showup in the camp watch.
#6 It don't matter if Ricky has fast hands, he telegraphs from the outside and his hand speed only show on the inside.
I will bet you that Ricky Hatton believes entire legacy is riding on this fight and if he has anything else but this attitude he will loose.
Trainers don't make great fighters. They refine a fighters skill. That is why Trainers look for and want to train great fighters. Ricky was great at two things, his skill fighting on the inside and his fighting spirit/heart. He lost confidence because he thinks too much. Right now he thinks Mayweather can change him. He can't! Hatton is a brawler and brawler gets by on heart. Hatton can develop similar skills like that of Roberto Duran not Surgar Ray Lenard. If Hatton comes out and tries to be something he's not, he'll just end up on his back. If Hatton shows up as the relentless brawler cutting off the ring digging into Pacquiao he has a chance to beat Pacquiao.
There are many people that just dismiss the workover Pacquiao gave De la Hoya. I think it is because they just don't want to beleive that Pacquiao is the great fight he is and make excusses for De La Hoya. Yes, De La Hoya lost something but it was more Pacquiao's doing.
Re: Floyd Mayweather Says "Hatton will whoop Manny's ass"
Another thing is with Pacquiao jumping around the way he does I think it'll throw off Hatton's rhythm and Manny could easily catch Ricky coming in and HURT him....Manny's problems will be when he's exiting an attack, he has to keep his hands up and circle out, going straight back will not be good vs Hatton because one wild bomb could land and Manny would be in trouble.

He seemed to carry his power pretty well....at least we KNOW what he can do at his new weight vs a decent fighter....... unlike some overhyped loud mouth who just moved up to heavyweight from cruiserweight but will remain nameless
You call that version of ODLH decent ? You got to be fukking kidding me.
As for Haye (What he has to do with Pac-Hatton is beyond me) has got a big mouth, but he backs up his talk. Can you blame him then for mouthing off, of course not. Haye has everything. Power, speed, agility, heart and determination.
He backed up his talk at...Cruiserweight.
He has yet to back up his talk at HW, and he's run his mouth an a lot. Haye has a lot going for him, but the jury is still out his ability to back up anything at HW.

Exactly what jmm did. In Pacquiao past, he was vulnerable to the counter because he got too excited going after his opponent and left himself open. He showed exstream patience against ODLH and we didn't see much of it.

How many of you expected the DLH that showed up that night? I didn't. The minute he stepped out i was like :o where is the real DLH? Like cummon he isnt that old. Look at bhop. He was messed up somehow from the minute he stepped into the ring until Pacquiao stopped him.
