Pac beating DLH easily is not easy. Yes, I agree with you that DLH is difficult to beat easily.
That makes Pac one of the greatest boxers of all time.
no it just proves the same thing he proved when he beat Morales for the 2nd time, that basically he was in against a shot fighter or in DLH's case maybe not fully shot but a weight drained fighter, and how would Hatton beating Pacquiao prove anything?:-\ Hatton is getting to fight Pacquiao in his best weight class, he doesn't have to drain himself to go down to 135, Pacquiao/Hatton is completely irrelevant to DLH/Pacquiao, all in all i still give credit to Pacquiao, no so much on his win against DLH, but the way he fought, how he showcased exactly how much more skilled he has become, all the different punches that are in his arsinal i don't dispute the fact that Pacquiao is p4p the best fighter in the world, but he didn't beat a prime DLH, and a prime DLH would have beaten Pacquiao easily

Re: De La Hoya on Pacquiao defeat: 'I was embarassed'
Everyone is talking about this article like it's either vindication for Oscar or bull***t. I happen to think it's the latter. Oscar got exactly what he deserved in a career where he hand picked good but nonetheless over the hill opponents to complile his record and watch films of himself and masturbating until he came dust. Mr. DLH was embarassed when he badmouth and fought, Trinidad, Mosely, Hopkins and the Pacman. One example was when he fought for the WBO title as a junior lightweight against a weak looking opponent whose name escapes me. He fought J.C. Chavez at the end of his career and touted himself as great. The controversial win over Pernell Whittaker always stuck in my craw and then Oscar says he's embarassed? He got in one fight exactly what he did with opponents that had one foot over a grave and the other on a bannana peel. He pounded his chest when he beat a man who probably smokes two packs of cigaarettes a day in Mayorga but I never heard him call out Margarito or Cotto but Hatton is a small guy and maybe he and the Pac Man will have a hard fight and Oscar can have an easy time. I could go on but this might be enough. I don't hate the guy because I don't know him but I can always see if Showtime has a real fighter challenging guys that can fight back the same night Oscar is in the ring. Here's to the real boxers from the ham and eggers to the toughest champions, I salute you and Oscar, good riddance. No more gift decisions either.

No... not me... maybe Hoya is discrediting PAC's win... read Hoya's statement:
"‘Go ahead (Manny) and land something strong and hard right on the button so you can knock me out and take me out of my misery.’"
If Hoya wanted to be knockout, he should not have quit on his stool... Hoya should not have agreed to his corner to stop the fight... During that fight I was thinking Hoya is ripe for the taking after the 8th... PAC could have KO'ed him in the 9th or onwards...

Oscar is acting like a little biatch now, why did he not get up off his fat ass and take his medicine? What was he waiting for? Was he expecting the human buzzsaw to run over there and knock his fat ass out on his stool? lol what a joke of an article this was. I wanted him to knock me out but I did not want to get up so he could finish the job. That don't even make any sense.

I would be embarrassed if I said I was 100% certain that ODLH would win. Maybe as embarrassed as many Cotto fans who assured he would easily beat Margarito. ODLH's loss didn't shock me. If he lost in his prime then I would be a bit dissapointed. I don't blind myself from seeing weaknesses in boxers I like unlike Cotto and Pac hardcore fans.

Stop trying to act like you haven't been talking down Cotto all along since you started posting here. You are a sad excuse for a poster. That's why you had to join darkside to get your punch power up. Before that you were doing damn near negative numbers.

Re: De La Hoya on Pacquiao defeat: 'I was embarassed'
I'm just wondering how many times we have to hear, "I failed my jab.. my jab didn't fail me.. i just couldn't throw it." and "i felt like my hands were tied behind my back.. i saw openings but couldn't throw a punch" before De La Hoya retires.
He took a tune up fight against Forbes and got beat up. I would say take a tune up fight against someone with less skill just to get back into the swing of things, but he doesn't want to fight more than once, MAYBE twice a year.
If he really wants to fight a decent opponent, i think he really needs to beat someone up first. Get his confidence up, and then fight a big fight. Otherwise, i'd be very surprised to see him win another big matchup. I'd like to see it happen though, i respect DLH.

Don't confuse talking about a boxer's weaknesses with talking down. The thing is that many of you hardcore fans it seems like a sin to mention a boxer's weaknesses. One thing is to say that ODLH doesn't have his jab anymore, speed, etc. And another is to say that he wears woman clothes or whatever, making no point. Something you and your buddy DannyG seem to enjoy and high-five each other with. One thing is to say that Cotto sucks and another is to question his resume and skills. The last thing I said of Cotto in this paragraph was to forget the past and move on to exciting things in the future. You still didn't like that, eh?
You Cotto hardcore sensitive fans should just leave his loss vs Margarito in the past and move on. Not even the pro-Margarito posters create as many threads about Margarito beating Cotto as you guys. Just chill.

ummm yea nothin has been proven that Margarito cheated in the Cotto fight, quite opposite he was actually cleared, and yea Pacquiao beat a weightdrained and old DLH, don't start tryin to make Manny the #1 welter in the world, caus honestly i think even Berto takes him out at 147

Re: De La Hoya on Pacquiao defeat: 'I was embarassed'
Not really a big Oscar fan at all. . .mostly rooted for his opponents - not necessarily solely because I didn't like DLH, there was just always some other reason that I wanted the other guy to win.
With that being said, I am really impressed that he was so open with what happened during the fight and what was going on in his mind. Especially since he said that people were really supportive of him (he says) after the loss. He really didn't have to be this open and could have easily supplied the interviewer with the questions and came out just fine. I wish a lot of other athletes would be this honest so that us "fans" could take a peak into their heads every once in a while. Props to Oscar for not hiding and laying it all out there. Hey, if he fights again, I may even root for him.;D

you should know, your boy runs and retires every time he's spanked, guess he goes off crying cause he knows Don King is gonna spank his ass afterwards, shit must explain why he tried having the same hair do for a while , lets not forget Trinidad was accused for the same thing Margarito is being accused for, happened the same exact way really, B-Hop said he illegally wrapped his hands, and wanted them re-wrapped, they were re-wrapped and Trinidad never won a serious fight afterwards, interesting...

you should know, your boy runs and retires every time he's spanked, guess he goes off crying cause he knows Don King is gonna spank his ass afterwards, shit must explain why he tried having the same hair do for a while , lets not forget Trinidad was accused for the same thing Margarito is being accused for, happened the same exact way really, B-Hop said he illegally wrapped his hands, and wanted them re-wrapped, they were re-wrapped and Trinidad never won a serious fight afterwards, interesting...
You're just sore 'cause your boy got slapped around by a midget and quit on his stool. And that's AFTER he was handpicked 'cause he came from several weight classes down. His cowardly plan blew up in his face. And as for Tito, he never got suspended, never got accused of putting illegal substances on his wraps. Face it clown, you're bitter and you're grasping at straws. I.E.... you're pathetic.
;)

You're hilarious, boy. Those calluses on the back of your throat (courtesy of DLH) must be affecting your ability to reason.
