Not for nothing Kel, but thats a prime example of your personal hate for Mayweather..
Everyone seems to think the measuring stick for Floyds greatness hinges on Cotto, whats wrong with what that guy said:confused:
When you go thru the boards thats the one name that everyone would get off Floyds back about.. Miguel Cotto, not to mention he will most likely fight and beat Pacquiao.. If thats not icing on the cake, I dont know what is

Have to say that Mayweather needs to put up at welterweight or shut up. Anyone can float around thinking they are the best, but to beat the best is an entirely different prospect. When Mayweather beats someone who is the best at welterweight, i'll be on here giving the praise.
The link breakdown below written by Steady E is concrete proof of a serious lack of decent opposition, even adding Hatton to that still doesn't give justification for his blown out of proportion status. Just like Pacman and his followers too at the moment.
http://www.saddoboxing.com/boxingfor...opponents.html
Paul Williams is the man to put Mayweather on is bum. If he gets past Winky Wright, which will be tough tough that is a fight i would love to see made. Although I would definately be impressed if Mayweather won against Cotto or Mosely, even Berto or Collazo would be more of a challenge than all mentioned at the beginning of this post.
Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr - Four Possible Opponents in 09
Cotto or Mosely would both be very interesting, both would be Floyd's hardest ever fight imo
Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr - Four Possible Opponents in 09
Well i dont like Mayweather very much his style has not changed to my liking at all in his later years i do rate him in the top 30. kinda agree though with jt on the fact it is Cotto thats the number one win right now i dont see that as the case i think Mosley is the one to make a mark. He had a fight with Cotto could of gone either way and then Destroyed Margarito and i dont care wraps or not no way Cotto could of done it like Mosley did even if he would of won it would not of been like that. Cotto is not fastest guy and he chinny at times not to mention stamina problems. Mosley to me is the real test he has speed to match, chin of steel, power and not to mention he does not have stamina problems in late rounds. Dela Hoya is done i dont even want to see him fight anymore he was like a zombie and still cant belive the weight he came in with.

I wouldn't go THAT far with it, it is a stretch picking Hatton to beat Mayweather in a rematch, but it's not like it's fantasy talk. I'm not saying Hatton would knock him out in the 2nd round all I'm saying is Hatton in England at 140 has a very good chance to beat Mayweather.
And why do you think PBF would go down to 140 to fight Hatton?? Is it because Hatton honestly accepted that he's too small for 147?? ;D

Same deal with Cotto - Mosley fights a possibility but all logical sense would suggest if he is to make a return it`ll be against the winner of mays superfight!!
Oh for God sakes, Marquez is great but he's way too small.
He fights Mayweather at 147 and he gets knocked out.
Plain and simple.

Yes that was 2 years ago and it's true that it was a close fight, a split decision... Many even thought that if Hoya didn't abandoned his jab in the latter rounds, he could have won that fight... After that Hoya only fought twice, he looked good against Forbes and looked very bad against PAC... But styles makes fights, PBF's style allowed Hoya to open up on him and look good... You can't really just write off Hoya totally against PBF just because PAC annihilated Hoya... Remember, styles makes fights...
And what's with so much protest about my postings?? I'm just presenting my personal boxing opinion here and you can freely argue with that instead of attacking why I post here...

I highly doubt Team Hatton and GBP can afford to offer Mayweather Jr. US $25M for him to go down to 140 and fight Hatton... It's so risky and there's no guarantee Hatton will surely prevail at 140... We've already seen that once before and Hatton was KO'ed by the ring post...

IMO, I think a rematch would be great in England and at 140 and Hatton would give Mayweather his first loss.

140. Hatton backyard. Doesn't matter. Hatton will never beat Mayweather. I don't even see him being competitive

I agree totally, it's Cotto or Mosley or forget it Floyd, Williams is off chasing $ fighting Winky and i don't see either Hatton,Pac or JMM posing any threat to Floyd. He could fight both Cotto and Mosley before the end of the year. The winner of Pac V Hatton should fight JMM and maybe then take on Floyd next year.

Why? If Mayweather brings more money to the table, Why should JMM get a shot at the winner? JMM has never fought at 140lbs! There is Bradly, Holt and hell even Mighty Mick Arnaoutis who have more claim over facing a 140lbs champion. "Should", suggests JMM has some kind of right to fight the winner? JMM is lightweight Champ and his next fight "should" be defending his belts! It's about money and Pac/Hatton have the biggest draw in the game right now and the winner most likely will face the next biggest draw. If that is JMM then so be it But there is absolutely no right here....

JMM getting the winner of PAC-Hatton is like JMM hitting the lotto... IMO JMM most probably takes the loser of PAC-Hatton... Or JMM could be the tune-up fight of PBF this coming July 11...

That depends on the outcome of PAC-Hatton... If PAC defeats Hatton more convincingly than what PBF did to Hatton then PAC-PBF will not be considered a mismatch... Honestly it's very difficult to top what PBF did to Hatton (knocking Hatton out by slamming him to the ring post) but I still think PAC can surpass that by knocking Hatton out by slamming him to the canvass inside 9 rounds... It's only my personal opinion though...

JMM would only go above 135 to chase Pac or if Hatton wins, the man who beat Pac. JMM really wont be nearly as effective above 135 imo. As for fighting Floyd, I think Marquez is a greater fighter, but with the weight and size difference it would be a mismatch and Floyd would ko him within 6 rnds.

Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr - Four Possible Opponents in 09
Cotto brings nothing that will give PBF any problems. The only guy I can see posing a challenge is Mosley. Pacmans style allows him to beat fighters more brutally than PBF but noone can touch PBF so his opponents all go out the same, with one more loss. Say Pacquiao totally KOs Hatton, I still wouldnt question Floyds superiority. Pacquiao would still loose. Styles make fights. If your inferior to Manny, you will be beaten senseless. If your superior (like Floyd), he doesnt do much. Mayweather though is not a power puncher but a defensive counterpuncher. He makes everyone look the same.
