I love metal and I will loudly proclaim that Tool sucks balls. The music is good, but the vocals and especially the lyrics are so boring and redundant. We get it, you don't like God or religion. Good for you, sing about something else for fucksake. I was a big fan of Undertow, Aenima, and Lateralus (which I still feel is their best album), but they bore me to tears now and I can't listen to any of the albums I once really enjoyed. I feel like I'm listening to a 14 yr. old whine whenever I heard Maynards lyrics.

They blew live too.

A Perfect Circle also sucks, mainly as a result of Maynard.

man i can't keep up with rock debates, i just recently got into rock. You guys will probubly laugh at me if i tell which band i listen to....:-\

but i dont care i like what i like, i haven't heard enough to debate if they are good but to me they rock :p

btw i wouldn't mind if anyone makes a list of rock songs that are a must to listen to. ;)

It really depends on what type of "rock" you are into. What's the name of the band you really like? I might be able to suggest music that is similar.

Theres one band that never gets a mention as regards great bands. Yet working with groups for 15 years every band Ive spoken too Rates them Bigtime Moody Blues.

Yeah, The Band were great. One of the neat things about them is if you focus on the individual part that each guy is playing, it's really very simple in most cases. But when you put it all together something special happens.

The only problem is that Robbie Robertson is a douche....but aside from that they are great!

Yeah, you ought to hear what Levon Helm has to say about him. Robertson really ripped the boys off, claiming a lion's share of the royalties on a legality (he wrote most of the songs) but what made them great was that they were a unit, I mean where would they be without Levon's vocals on so many great songs.

I like songs such as I stand alone by godsmack, coming undone by korn or down with the sickness by disturbed. the beats on those three songs always makes me want to get up and accomplish something.

Honestly though I dont know much bands those are the few I know but i dont like all of their songs i haven't even listen to all of their albums.

You guys can find me songs similar to the three of my favorites i mentioned, I will really appreciate it.

I'm not a fan of any of those bands, but I'll try and suggest a few similar groups which I do like. The common theme between the bands you mentioned is that much of their music is heavy, melodic, and groove-based. Here are some good bands that I feel fit that description:

If any of yall enjoy a good blend of Texas country and classic rock. There is a band called "Cross Canadian Ragweed" that I love. They are similar to Skynrd or ZZ Top in that they blend country, rock and blues but have a sound all their own. They do a great live show as well.

Bonham.. and Sabbath is a different genre of music.. Different crowd of fans.. I'm not sure i can compare the two..

Zeppelin was more based on melody and lyrical talent.. Their songs (not all) have a lot of meaning and a sense of passion..

I can't say the same for Ozzy.. Sabbath was more the badass attitude and being a Rock/Metal pioneer.

Some Girls - 1979 was the last good album, but your point is well taken.
