You see, you're not even aware that some boxers' do have a character and attitude that can influence your own life... You like Molitor, his attitude, his fighting style and his story so there must be something in him that you like to emulate...

How is the list legitimate?
It's pre-screened by Time magazine editorial staff... ;)

If you believe the editors at Time think that Rain is the 2nd most influential person in the world, you're insane. I assume they put forward a list of 100 very popular individuals, some of whom are legitimately influential and some of whom are simply very popular. Then then opened voting to idiots worldwide, thus the results we see. If they rely solely on internet voting to determine their most influentail people they are insane.
So based on all this, you believe that Korean popstar Rain is the 2nd most influential person in the world and thus carries more clout than someone like Barrak Obama?
You don't need to answer that, I'm done arguing with you.

Re: Give BOXING a shot in the arm ...
SaddoBoxer, for the sake of your communication with people of here, you should learn to read English language subtext such as sarcasm or irony. Also look for different ways of what people mean with words such as 'joke'.
I have to say you're one of those people who would hold their position regardless of the evidence. I imagine a conversation between the 15th century versions of ourselves would go something like this:
15th Century Jaz: So SaddoBoxer, you know that the world is actually round?
15th Century SB: No, the Earth is flat, how could it be anything other? ;)
Jaz: Well, you see the planet spins on an axis and so that all the parts of the planet get some sun for plantlife, it must be round like a ball. If it was flat the world would not be able to get sun & night at different times.
SB: No, the Earth is flat, how could it be anything other? ;)
Jaz: But, SaddoBoxer, do you not see that if the Earth was flat it would make no sense how we are able to travel continually around it if needs be. Otherwise we would fall off the edge, which is obviously a stupid concept...
SB: No, the Earth is flat, how could it be anything other? ;)
Jaz: Aaaah... Screw it...

For what its worth i voted for noel gallagher just for the fact he spoke his mind about jay-z playing glastonbury when everybody else was scared to do so!!

What you mean when he admitted afterwards that Jay-Z was actually really good and he was wrong ;)

nope
the fact he was pointing out the obvious point that glastonbury was a rock festival and by having a hip-hop star headline the festival had indeed sold out!

Rain is a steaming pile of poo. And his name is just stupid. I'm going to call myself Mr Snowy and wear a pair of stupidly oversized sunglasses whilst suggestively showing my left nipple. Maybe then I can break the top 10 most influential people as well! ;D

Or maybe he was just pissed off that his fans were now becoming consigned to the late 20s/approaching middle-aged bracket, and younger people have no interest in them by and large. I don't mind Noel Gallagher, but that was b1tch comment. Glastonbury has to learn to adapt or it will die. Although I understand you wish these 'hip-hop people' would just know their place & stick to selling out the O2

Re: Give BOXING a shot in the arm ...
Even if my voice made a difference in his political world, I wouldn't vote for Pacquiao. That is because I would much rather see him in the ring, rather than talking about some peoples plight. I would be willing to bet most others feel the same.
Simply put Politics is about getting what you want. The more positive attention a politician has the more people power he has. In a word "influence".
Pacquiao would do far more for "his people" (meaning the people he wants to represent politically) using his current stature as a mega boxer than to drop out of the boxing spot light into politics. As a political figure that influence meter will drop closer to "0" than rise toward "100". As a "Boxing Legend" he has the attention of the world. As a Politician he will be ridiculed for being uneducated. No Politician can compete with him using the ring. Politicians will just trample him outside the ring. Sorry dude! no vote here....

Re: Give BOXING a shot in the arm ...
I voted for Pacquiao a couple of times at number 1. He is a Boxer and I love Boxing no matter who it is. And my second reason is when Hatton knocks out Pacquiao, Hatton will have KO'ed the number 1 "Most Influential People" an the number 1 P4P Boxer.

Re: Give BOXING a shot in the arm ...
WTF!! Britney Spears now ahead of boxer Manny Pacquiao!! It's a slap to the faces of boxing fans... Will you just accept this, boxing fans??
Show some KO power boxing fans and vote for boxer Manny Pacquiao...

I'm loving his indignation at Britney Spears being above Pacquiao, but his complete lack of concern for the integrity of list that all these people plus Manny are apparently more 'influential' than the likes of Vladimir Putin & Barack Obama

Yoohooo!! Boxer Manny Pacquiao climbed 4 notches up and cracks the top 5 for the first time... Thanks for your vote Mr. Erik and to the many others who voted for boxer Manny Pacquiao...

Time Mag. is an idiot!
The people listed are people that have popularity in the Internet community. Probably the most influential person in the world today is Bin Ladin... He is like the Mayweather of boxing people watch him because he is hated. How many people can get the worlds army's to chase after him?
