Re: PAC/Cotto 24/7 episode 1
THe one thing I hate is that they used to show way more training, it really gets me pumped for my training and the fight when they show how hard the guys are working out, hopefully they will focus more on that as it goes along, and I can't stand all the focus on the family and such, that's what I don't care about.

We should have a poll to see who wasted the most time waiting for that stupid HBO website to start playing the video..
Anyway, here are the youTube links while they are still up..

Crazy how the group of folks were surfing down a river on a pile of banana leaves. The turmoil in Pac camp: usual Pac camp drama. Definitely concerned about Cotto's young trainer but Cotto's been training himself for awhile so I think he'll be ok. Also thought the Castillo segment was cool.
I was kinda shocked and amazed when I saw that clip. I have been watching/monitoring those 3 major typhoons on PhilTV news. But they didn't get to capture that footage. Brilliant job by HBO crew.
I got the feeling that 24/7 is turning out to be like MTV's Real World. A little early to tell if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I hope the 2nd episode is better than the 1st one. I hope they show more sparring.

Re: PAC/Cotto 24/7 episode 1
Some people seem to have mixed feelings about 24/7 showing the boxers' lives but that is what 24/7 is all about, right? We'll see the fight in a few weeks anyways but 24/7 presents us with a bit more about how they live, a basic insight on their training, and so on. We didn't have 24/7 before and no other show presented the boxers to us the way 24/7 does and hyped the fight so it's all good for me :) .
Aaaaaanyways, I just saw it today on my iPod (free HBO podcasts from iTunes) and I think Pac's camp picking Jose Luis Castillo for a sparring partner was a good choice. He has some similarities to Cotto: speed, body attack, movements, etc.

Re: PAC/Cotto 24/7 episode 1
episode 1 has a bad image of pacquiao.... and to top it off.. those mutha effin politicians keep disturbing him.. those popularity hungry people... anyway... cant wait for the fight to happen.. gotta be great. both are game and willing to risk.. so its gonna be great.
btw.. when i saw that clip of cotto coming out the pool i knew diane would make it her sig vid.. ;)

Re: PAC/Cotto 24/7 episode 1
Well it wasn't a bad one, maybe not my favorite but it was still interesting; Of course, after the third time I see PAcman in a 24/7 it is not exactly as fun and interesting as the first one but it,s kinda normal I think and to make it looks different, I understand why the producers of the 24/7 did focus a bit on the tsunami and on some other aspects of PAcman's life even though I think that the Tsunami thing was kind of an important part of his life at that moment.

Re: PAC/Cotto 24/7 episode 1
Pacstraightleft,
bro what local channels where you watching? that clip was all over the news. abscbn took that footage they even interviewed one of the survivors. hbo just asked for the rights from abscbn.
nameless,
its wasnt a tsunami that hit philippines. it was a really weak storm with really weak winds. but within 6 hrs that storm let out rain water equivalent to a month of rain. twice more than hurricane katrina. so that flooded a huge part of metro manila.

Thanks for the precisions but indeed, the results are catastrophic and include way too much water. I hope peoples from over here will recover as best as they can.

TFC and PinoyTV bro (not local).
Summer is getting hotter, the winter is getting colder. All these Hurricanes, floodings, abnormal volcanic activities, I'm afraid to say that we're experiencing the effect of global warming. I thought Al Gore was full of shit.

Re: PAC/Cotto 24/7 episode 1
Well sorry guys, I'm now going to have 2 gifs as my sigi's, that you won't enjoy seeing. :lickish:
I told Danny, that when he watches the show, that I won't even have to tell him what shot I want. ;D
And like I said, I would be very surprised if HBO pulls off getting footage of Cotto sparring. I knew Miguel wouldn't allow them to get much.
I do feel bad for Miguel Sr, you can tell he's really upset about his family being torn apart, and how much he hates that he had to chose between his son and his brother.
God, I can't believe the fight is only two weeks away.

Re: PAC/Cotto 24/7 episode 1
I've finally seen what Roach have been talking about, about Pac's crappy sparring in Manila. That was a week ago, I hope Team Pac already corrected those flaws. Great job by Shawn Porter btw.

Yeah, Porter was doing well against him in sparring.
I like Porter, he lives two towns over from me, so I like seeing a local boy getting some good opportunities.

Took a while to find a link, but you can download Episode 2 here..
MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service
I'm right in the middle of downloading so can't 100% confirm it's ep 2, but if I don't come back to delete the above link, it means it's all good.

Re: PAC/Cotto 24/7 episode 1
I don't mind seeing the culture and behind the scenes stuff.. I stayed up until really late to watch it even though I had to get up early.. And it kept me entertained..
But at the same time, I think the real purpose of the 24/7's is to get people hyped, and to draw more people into purchasing the fight...
Like I said, I do enjoy watching the culture and seeing their family and how fame works for them, especially in these smaller countries etc.. But to be honest, all my excitement and hype for this fight comes entirely from my existing love of both fighters and what this fight will potentially bring... So far this 24/7 has done nothing to turn that excitement up for me even half a notch...
In the end, what we are really waiting for is to see these guys blast each other in the ring for 12 rounds, not who has the most visitors over for dinner before they go for a swim... ie. I hope the next 24/7 show's in exciting and dramatic fashion, what both these guys are capable of doing,,, in the ring,,, when they are at the top of their game...
By the last 24/7, you want to be in the state of mouth watering anticipation for this fight, not Cotto's barbequed kebabs...

Hmmmmm, I just realised that my avatar is a little bit not right for the main section of the forum where people are looking at stuff at work..
I remember one person said when they are at work they try to quickly scroll past my avatar, and I understand as if someone at my work saw that, they would be like, what the hell is that your looking at.. Except they wouldn't ask to give me a chance to explain,,, they'll just think i'm a pervert looking up moaning women at work... so i'm hearby looking for another avatar now..

Re: PAC/Cotto 24/7 episode 1
Watched Episode 2 yesterday and I am a bit concerned about Cotto's weight specially after seeing this picture below. Look at his cheek bones, his jaw, etc. I guess Freddy Roach is pretty smart in demanding Pac's opponents to drain themselves, ask the refs to stop the fight if their opponent does something wrong, asking for the bigger piece of the pie, etc.
Having a rookie young trainer instead of his uncle who has been with him all the time, etc. Let's hope this fight is competitive.
