Chavez comes out firing for another round firing, has Soto on the ropes & for the first time actually slipped a punch or two. Soto brings it back to the centre though with some nice straights. Competitive again, but once more it's a Soto round.
69-62 Soto (forgot about the point deduction before)
Some excellent counter-punching by Soto here. Chavez just keeps coming though. Soto is making this round easier for himself, I know he's doing less, but he's having the fight on his terms. Gets a little punch in after the bell.
79-71 Soto
This last round should be good.
Soto looking more comfortable again & some nice punches from Chavez there. He's forcing Soto back into a fight, but there's some lovely left hooks to the body from Soto. I think Chavez is doing more here now, but Soto trying to nick it at the end. Another punch after the bell from Soto.
89-80 Soto
I got Soto pitching a shut out
Sotos gut looks exploitable, looked bothered at times.good but ugly fight.Have had enough Chavez now.
Fuck. I missed the fight because I had to run out and buy $50 of Christmas liquor . Sounds like a good one. I love Soto and I'm hard-pressed to think of a more exciting fighter.
What is likely the final round of Jesus Chavez's career sees them both surprisingly cagey. Chavez trying to walk him down, whilst Soto looks to box out the win. Perfect straight right from Soto but Chavez doesn't blink & keeps on. Soto explodes in the last half-minute, but Chavez won't go down & Soto can't stop him. It might be a Soto round for many, but Chavez did more early & my sentimentality gives it him.
98-90 Soto
Chat room, come to the dark side...we have cookies ...and beer.
Decent fight, Chavez should probably retire now. 3 losses on the trot and pushing 38. He should go out with his head held high.
Glad to see Valdez get another shot after the Montiel travesty, but Cermeno should logically fuck him up.
This should be an interesting fight
Let him go on
Did that clown announcer say that Valdez 'destroyed' Montiel earlier ???
Damn, two minutes in and heads have already played their part. Quite nasty
Valdez is having fits, that cut hasn't helped though.
Cermeno looks like a bigger Rosendo Alvarez
Well that was a well prepared corner, how can you not have a pair of scissors? :dontknow:
Haha, that made me laugh....use the teeth! ;D
Impressive KO by Cermeno
Wow, I wonder if Cermeno really thought it was the last round? Hey, he did the job, and did what he had to do to win it. :o
Man, we just watched a couple good fights, and now we're probably in for a big let down now. :p
Pavlik looks a little more like his old self. Less of the red cheeked bearded santa thing going on.
Imagine if Pavlik were to lose in front of his home town?
One point? Did the ref take a point away?
He thinks a lot of the locals were rough on him with the hand issues, and the supposed rehab, but man if he lost tonight, he'll want to move out of Youngstown, because they would be brutal towards him.
But based on the first round, I don't think Pavlik has anything to worry about.
It won't be good for Pavlik if this go the distance.
Donaire with another useless fight
Fightings a Bitch
Well I have to give Espino credit, he's trying to make a fight of it, but he has absolutely no defense for Pavlik's uppercuts.
Pavliks busting him up, this won't last long.
Good stoppage
Oh, it's over. ;D
Come on Pavlik, now fight someone good.
Well that was a good stoppage, John Bray did the right thing.
If Pavlik and his team try to make something big out of this win, I'll laugh my a$$ off.
Well of course he's calling out Williams now, because he just seen Martinez beat him. ;)
