When Wlad fights he doesn't need a plot line he just fights....this isn't supposed to be pro wrestling, it's boxing and it's tragic that this fight is coming off to begin with but the worst part is in order to justify the match happening they had to make up some ridiculous story. Gee I sure hope the dress rehearsals for this fight go as planned

Re: Haye v Harrison - How will it go?
After seeing how packed that arena was for WK's last fight... I have to agree with Lyle.
-
Re: Haye v Harrison - How will it go?
Am going to this one and am 90% certain thiswill end in 1-2 rounds (am going for the atmosphere rather than the fight itself - I hope their ringwalks are entertaining !)
But with Haye expectd to end it early and if he doesn't.... you cant help but thing Audley may just one day go for it
But then again...
Haye in 2

You guys are delusional Audley Harrison has no chance.
I agree Ice, people have lost their minds in a desire to have in their heads a decent matchup. Just not going to happen though. It is a joke matchup. An old man in Harrison taking on a relatively decent heavyweight.
Are the people back home really milking this up? It is too ridiculous for me to even take any half way seriously. Is everyone on what Ricky Hatton is taking? An absolute joke.
Agreed Miles i don't get it myself, all because he KO'ed a C class fighter in Michael Sprott. A fighter he really shouldn't of needed to rematch, nor should he be losing to on points. And a fighter he shouldn't be fighting at this stage.
Considering he was an Olympic gold medalist, he should of been a world champ now. What a total disappointing career for Audley Harrison.
I don't think he's really cut out for professional boxing, he seems to have some of the tools. But he lacks the real killer instinct, and the heart that a successful professional needs.

Yet oddly enough he's not the one scheduled to fight Audley Harrison.

Sosnowski ring any bells?

Re: Haye v Harrison - How will it go?
Everyone keeps saying: "look who Vitali is fighting" or "look who Wlad is fighting".
The difference is - they don't have anything to prove. Haye does. They have both been at the top of their game for years now and look to dominate for the next couple too (especially Wlad). They aren't the ones who keep running their mouths about other fighters, they have been willing to fight anyone but people keep 'ducking them' or pulling out of fights. They can't really do much more. Wlad was set to fight Povetkin but he pulled out so what is he to do? There was no one else to fight but Samuel Peter at such short notice.

those two boys have been on top of the weakest heavyweight division in history. They ain't going to go down in history anytime soon as all time heavyweight greats. I believe they have a lot to prove. Vit proved alot agains lewis, Wlad proved alot against corey sanders LOL!

Povetkin, Chagaev, Sam Peter, Cris Arreola (he's an underachiever but a win over him especially a stoppage win would be big), Adamek, Dimitrenko, Boytsov.
Basically it all boils down to this, the WBA title holder has proven (to the WBA at least) that he's "World Class"....Audley Harrison has proven he's a club fighter that can't even beat domestic level opponents.
HF gee I wonder why Vitali chose Sosnowski instead of Audley?
-
Re: Haye v Harrison - How will it go?
Cause he sells more tickets in Europe? :-X
Seriously Lyle, there is no viable answer to that one, surely?!
-
I can't defend (and haven't defended) Vitali's decision to fight Sosnowski except to say it was a "stay busy" fight. Sad to say this but the WBC has Ray Austin as the #1 contender right now.
Had Vitali fought Audley I would enjoy the beating Vitali would dish out on Audley but it would be a meaningless fight just like Sosnowski...that fight didn't prove anything.

I'll defend Wlad & his opponents till the cows come home, he really does try to make the best fights & while his fights can be used as visual sedatives on occasion, he's an exceptional fighter, worthy imo of being talked up among the 20 best HWs of all time.
Vitali on the other hand has had a truly shocking list of opponents since coming back, hell he's made Haye look like Ali with his choice of opposition (& that's what it is, I'm not buying this 3 mandatories a year BS).
Peter was an acceptable comeback fight even if he was in shit shape & really was outclassed by Wlad but for 3 rounds of the first fight. Gomez never had a chance, but that was fine to get the mandatory outta the way. Except then Arreola was the mandatory, but that was a good US exposure fight & hell he even got the mandatory delayed another few months so he could just make optional defences through to the end of this year.
Then he fights fucking Kevin Johnson, a prospect who should be nowhere near a title, a guy who makes the Michael Grant that took on Lennox look like B-Hop. I don't get how anyone was surprised how Johnson fought, he was fighting a guy who was 4 or 5 levels above where he should be, and just didn't know what to do. That this was somehow again passed off as a 'mandatory' (how does Vitali keep doing this?) is a farce. If any other top fighter took on a prospect (& not a great one at that) they'd be pilloried to high heaven.
But, no Vitali is still managing to outdo himself. First Albert Sosnowski who gave it his all, but really should be topping the card on club shows in Essex, and now Shannon Briggs, who will be dangerous for all of the first 27 seconds.
Vitali has the worst run of opposition of any fighter mentioned in the P4P discussion that I can think of. Seriously if there is someone with a more shoddy run please tell me??!

i dont really think a fight with any of those dudes would satisfy you really
if he fought anyone that a klit had fought youd have a word to say about it
adamek yes, but then why hasnt a klit fought him? you could come up with the same reasons
talking about english fighters, didnt vitali defend against danny williams once? was he better then than audley is now?
-
Nobody knew Johnson and Arreola were going to be as bad as they were. To be honest I have no issue with Vitali fighting Briggs, that's a more dangerous fight than anybody else right now. The only issue I have is Sosnowski.
-
Re: Haye v Harrison - How will it go?
a fight harrison is as viable fight as a good few of the klits opponents
haye would knock areola out probably quicker than he will harrison
want my advice?

Yes let's try and dust that under the carpet cuz it shows just how hypocritcal and flawed your tirades against David Haye really are.
-
If offered, would Audley have taken the fight vs Vitali?
-
I actually think that Harrison is a far more dangerous opponent than Haye thinks, more dangerous than most people think.
I'll tell you the reason why.
Harrison has fantastic skills, the problem is he doesn't apply them. The guy was an Olympic gold medalist, those skills don't disapeer, his problem is he never really looks like he can be bothered.
But come fight night, I think we'll see Harrison fight like his life depended on it and he does have power in that left hand.

I am in complete agreement. Only Arreola and Peter halfway deserved shots. Peter DID because he got seriously screwed by the WBC in the run-up and I'm glad he at least got a pay day. But Briggs-Sosnowski is an unbelievable that he's allowed to get away with this. There are 10K pages of Haye and rightfully so because his resume at heavyweight is shit but the guy ranked above him is worse.

Who besides Briggs and Sosnowski? Have you and Hornfinger not seen Audley fight? It's a stretch to call it fighting even.

Oh yeah Audley's shit. but the whole division is shit bar 4 maybe 5 fighters.
You can't have a go at one champ for fighting crap because ALL THE HEAVY WEIGHT CHAMPS ARE FIGHTING SHIT OPPOSITION. It's called being balanced and not being hypocritical. Two things that lyle can't do.

They aren't the same level of shit though. I don't get how that is difficult to comprehend. I mean there are A LOT more then 4 or 5 fighters that would beat Audley 10 times out of 10. Are you disputing that? Because there is a reason that even in a shit division, Audley can't get within walking distance of the top 20.
The fat American Cris Arreola would almost always beat Audley Harrison. Therefore, Arreola is a better opponent then Audley. Right? Or would you pick Audley to beat Arreola?
-
I'm not saying Audley could beat anyone, because i've seen him be proper awful in fights.
But I do think he is one if the biggest wastes of talent I have ever seen. Anyone who has followed his career properly (not just on boxrec etc) will know that in some fights he has showed glimmers of what made him such a hot prospect. He does have it in him somewhere, he's just tactically retarded and the skills were wasted on someone without a boxing brain.

It's the planet hypocrypton and it's not vey balanced....
-
Re: Haye v Harrison - How will it go?
Hornfinger, looking at a fight that may be made and signing a contract only to back out are two different things, 1 is just seeing if a fight is an option the other is ducking. But I might as well be waiting for a garden gnome to read that because it's not like you're going to change your mind....but please stay that way, once Chicken Little gets his ass kicked by somebody I'll remind you of all your bullshit.
erics44 if Cris Arreola fought Audley Harrison I wouldn't just feel safe betting on Arreola, I'd feel safe backing Arreola to stop Audley 10 of 10 times.
Audley isn't top 10, there's not a fighter in the top 10 he could challenge, there's barely a fighter in the top 20 that he could beat.

i said it would be a miss match if the fatty got in with haye
why are you so up tight about it? it isnt that important

If Arreola fought Chicken Little at worst Arreola loses a one sided decision. Has Chicken Little been hit solidly by even a decent heavyweight puncher?
It's important because people have apparently lost their damn minds when it comes rating who's a decent heavyweight...it seems to me that the Chicken Little supporters have said "Anyone the Klitschko's have fought recently is crap and Audley Harrison is on the verge of being the best thing ever"\
And saying that anyone would stop Arreola quicker than they would stop Audley is a joke
-
Re: Haye v Harrison - How will it go?
its my opinion mate
you have to admit (because you are so emotional about it all) that your opinion of haye probably isnt all that accurate. dont you think?
