Re: Anyone else watching the Bute/Brinkley fight here?
Gave that one to Brinkley as well
67-65 Bute
-
Re: Anyone else watching the Bute/Brinkley fight here?
One thing I've noticed about Bute is that he becomes too focused on landing a perfect body-shot.
-
Re: Anyone else watching the Bute/Brinkley fight here?
For a minute I actually thought Bute might get Brinkley out of there even quicker than Joey Spina.
Bute boxing beautifully. I haven't seen Brinkley lose rounds like this since he faced Anthony Bonsante.

ya i can see that. he's not looking great this fight that's for sure. but it looks more like he's just coasting.

If he manages that he'll win by knockout, well fall down anyway. No Marlon to hold Lucian up for the bell tonight.

Re: Anyone else watching the Bute/Brinkley fight here?
There's bloody mess................
77-73 Bute
-
Re: Anyone else watching the Bute/Brinkley fight here?
Brinkley looking a bit of a mess here, face covered in blood.
-
Re: Anyone else watching the Bute/Brinkley fight here?
Bute is either carrying Brinkley and just taking his time or his training regime consisted of either HoHo's and watching reruns of Darkwing Duck.
-
Re: Anyone else watching the Bute/Brinkley fight here?
Brinkley's face pretty much sums up the Vancouver Canucks season so far too.
-
Re: Anyone else watching the Bute/Brinkley fight here?
He's coasting and carrying Brinkley. he barely threw a punch till the 3rd and lets off when Brinkley gets hurt. Not making excuses, he shoulda fought hard from the first bell.
And for sure respect to Brinkley for carryin on.
-
Re: Anyone else watching the Bute/Brinkley fight here?
Well Brinkley did better than I expected, even though the result was inevitable
-
Re: Anyone else watching the Bute/Brinkley fight here?
Nice uppercut, maybe people should start looking to nuetralize that. Over to the Tarver fight for me.
-
Re: Anyone else watching the Bute/Brinkley fight here?
Well done Lucian Bute, journeyman fighters two weight classes below you are no match for you.
-
Re: Anyone else watching the Bute/Brinkley fight here?
About as surprising as Balboa v Drago!
-
Re: Anyone else watching the Bute/Brinkley fight here?
Oh well, couldn't go the distance. Hopefully Bute goes for a meaningful bout after this gimme.

Get off your soap box.

Jesus Bilbo, do you do anything but troll on the main boards? At this point you're pretty much Xaduboxer with 20,000 posts.

Because there were so many available options

I see a long holier than though speech with veiled insults coming.
-
Re: Anyone else watching the Bute/Brinkley fight here?
It's hardly a meaningful fight though and Bute is hardly going to find a meaningful fight seeing as all the meaningful fighters are in the super 6. In that regard Bilbo is right, Bute did an okay job against another contender guy. The size difference was ridiculous. I don't know why Brinkley fights at SMW really. Calzaghe got stick for Manfredo, so Bute deserves his stick for not having meaningful fights too.
Bute is possibly very good, but it's hard to tell against these kind of mandatories and Kessler and Pavlik leftovers.
-

How so? Xadu's posts were a homily to his favourite fighter. Mine are venting about my second most loathed fighter, completely opposite direction, you see?
Anyway he did ok, in fact I'd pick him against any fighter from that first series of the Contender now.

Both are one-dimensional trolling. If a new poster came here and did that shit, they would end up banned pretty quickly. I come here to read about and discuss boxing and fighters, not read through a thread which is half made up of trolling.

Thing is, Brinkley fought his way to earn this title shot, it was his time, his payday. Bute is simply staying busy fighting a mandatory. Bute's options are out of his control right now.

Bute has got to fight Kessler or Pavlik next.
I'm not even a huge fan of his, I was cheering against him in both Andrade fights, but I think he's probably the 2nd best SMW right now. He just needs to step up and prove it.

wtf? I've made a couple of clearly light hearted remarks about him dominating a smaller journeyman fighter who did 'ok' in a reality show.
Are we operating a non criticism of any fighters policy now or is it just because he's the most significant Canadian export since William Shatner?

Re: Anyone else watching the Bute/Brinkley fight here?
Tarver is just teeing off on this heavyweight. Damn good shots!

That's the problem with a multiple-year tournament like the Super 6. Bute needs to start fighting the guys who have dropped out though if they become available. I'd also like to see him fight Pascal.

Still not a particularly meaningful fight though, especially considering the depth that SMW has, but for sure that's not all completely down to Bute. All I am saying though is that on this fight Bilbo has a fair point. I've not read through all the threads today, so have a feeling Bilbo might have been winding up people elsewhere, but I haven't seen much trolling in this particular instance.

Aside from posting how great the Kindle is I've not made any other contributions to the forum this week. I expect Josh has run out of Newcastle Brown Ale.

Him being Canadian (he's from Romania originally) has nothing to do with anything. All you're doing is posting the same regurgitated garbage which contributes nothing to any conversation about the fight or the fighters involved in order to get a rise out of people. That is the definition of trolling.

I'm just trying to have a laugh with you guys is all. Damn, tough crowd tonight.
Anyways, I'm out, it's nearly 6am here and I want to have a quick tug before I go to bed.
Later my grumpy Canuck friend.

Pascal has really grown on me. I absolutely loathed him after the Miranda fiasco, but he showed a ton of heart vs. Froch and, like Froch, seems willing to fight anyone. At this point I think Pascal-Bute might even be a 50/50 fight.

Yeah, I wonder why he's even fighting really, he's a decent commentator, but he looks like he's gonna have a heart attack.

Damn only saw the last 4 rounds. Tarver looked good for 3 of them, but a bit rubbish in that last round.
