...how haye can talk and fight audley freakin harrison with a straight face is amazing. That people are paying money to watch this garbage even more so....as long as people support crap like this fight they will continue to give us crap fights. Why not. Why fight either of the klitch's which he knows he can't beat when he can get paid to fight bums who can't even beat cab drivers (rogan). Thank god for the nfl.....this bs is like the jets talking shit about winning the super bowl but only want to play the bills !!! Can't fault mma and its fans for liking thier sport. Even the fights they show free on spike are more competitive and interesting than 90 % of the junk we get here. Audley harrison....give me a freakin break. Nothing, Sky bought the rights from Golden Boy for a set fee like they do with all American cards shown on Sky, the numbers of ppv had no reflection on the money sky paid for the fight.

Hmm... lets see - I'm pretty sure i've witnessed American fans showing rowdy support for their countrymen. Mexicans for their guys. Puerto Rico, Ireland, Denmark, Australia, etc etc. MANY fans from all over the world passionately support their countrymen.
The Brits are no different.

Pac - ODLH was part of Khans comeback PPV, so Hatton isn't the only PPV he has been on. Haye had been saying he was fighting on the 13th November since the date was put forward as a possibility for Pac-Mayweather.
I think that Haye-Audley will match if not better Haye-Valuev whether Pac was on it or not just due to it being 2 Brits fighting for a HW belt. Haye is getting more and more popular over here and is becoming a household name and Audley is known as something of a laughing stock by everyone in the country. People want to see KO's in HW boxing and they want to be entertained watching it, that is what Haye-Audley will bring and that is why people will pay for it.
The amount of people who are what i'd call fringe boxing fans watched Wlad-Peter and were turning it off bored by the 6th round is frightening for HW boxing and is not good for the sport. We need these people to be watching boxing and getting excited by it because they are watching it to be entertained not because they love the sport come rain or shine (like the majority of posters here do) and they are the people who will make up the PPV numbers at the end of the day!
Same thing I'm talking about. They were on Khan's PPV, which would have been PPV regardless, and had they not fought on that date, Sky would have shown it FREE or not at all (that was Khan's comeback fight with Fagin and clearly needed bolstering) .
These guys wrongly believe that a 4am American fight, that doesn't invlove a British superstar, will somehow distort the numbers for Haye's upcoming PPV. Even though he's a PROVEN huge PPV seller, and standalone 4am American PPVs don't happen unless a British star is involved.

I'm not Ukrainian or German, and I have been a Klitschko fan since the first time I ever got to see them fight (I think the first fight I watched Wlad in was the Shufford fight) don't get me wrong I'd love to see quality American heavyweights, but I don't just root for someone because of their nationality. In my opinion more than a few Brits have some sort of Napoleon complex (ironically enough), the great empire is dusted and done, they are no more. Sure you've got SOME world class boxers, but not EVERYONE who comes out of England is the greatest thing this side of Ali. Americans don't think every decent American fighter is world class, not even the ones that win the belts...we like to see our fighters tested and they have to fight in a manner that is crowd pleasing as well. You no doubt saw how many Americans supported John Ruiz during his reign as title holder....not that many and for a number of reasons #1 He wasn't the best fighter, #2 He never tried to become the best fighter #3 He had an ugly style #4 He only got the WBA title because he was a Don King fighter and everyone knows it.
I'm just tired of the Naseem Hamed style personalities coming out of England, why can't you guys produce more Frank Bruno's?

Well as long as ODLH didn't get a cut of that and it didn't effect the amount of money left to pay out the PPV feature fighters you're absolutely right :rolleyes:. It is a variable percentage because it is a fixed cost, but it is still a percentage none the less. Hence greater than zero.

Nothing, Sky bought the rights from Golden Boy for a set fee like they do with all American cards shown on Sky, the numbers of ppv had no reflection on the money sky paid for the fight.
Well as long as ODLH didn't get a cut of that and it didn't effect the amount of money left to pay out the PPV feature fighters you're absolutely right :rolleyes:. It is a variable percentage because it is a fixed cost, but it is still a percentage none the less. Hence greater than zero.

Of course they got some financial gain from sky showing the fight live, there not going to give it to Sky for free, so if you are trying to correct me for sayin they got nothing then quite a silly question in the first place to think one of the bggest fights of the year would of been without any finances going Golden Boys way.
But Sky have a budget for American cards and it has nothing to do with the PPV, it just made the Khan bill more attractive with it falling on the same night, the two fights could of been on two different nights and the same money would have been paid by Sky to both Khan which would of been PPV and Golden Boy which would of not been on PPV.

I honestly believe that with all of this that's going on now it is signalling the end to what has been a far too lenghtly wait for Haye to fight a Klit.
As many have stated in other threads, Chisora fighting against Wlad will bring in a lot of hype and attention, and the same with Haye finally finishing Audley. The Wlad Chisora fight especially will mean more public attention leading to shifting a lot more PPVs over here in the UK than if he was just fighting Americans as usual, as Wlad especially is surprisingly unknown amongst the general sports fans that would sometimes buy the odd PPV.
I really hope I'm right and we'll see them fight in the first half of next year. If not then from a business and general logic point of view it will be a huge opportunity missed for both parties.
If not then there will be a huge (further) lack of interest in the heavyweight division, and probably for a long time ahead.

The dude is defo not the greatest champion in the division and he wants the butter and the bread at the same time just because he knows that his demands are not fair and then is just running with the wind avoiding the real challenges. The US is neutral here. Haye is from England and the Klits from Germany. Everyone in the US thinks Haye is a scared little bitch if they have even heard of him.
I had nothing against Haye until he called out the Klitschkos and than ran when they agreed. Haye has got to be the biggest fraud in boxing history.

I give Haye a good chance at beating one of the K brothers if he comes in preppared and fights hard with a quick pace early.....But point of the matter is he has to actually put a pen in his hand to sign the contract for any of us the lovers or haters will ever know

I think that the US guys might have a point about Haye 'piggybacking' a PPV if they had Mayweather on the bill. Although they might have similar levels of stardom in the States, over here it's not even comparable, the fact Hatton-PBF drew more than a million more buys than Hatton-Pac says it all. Plus Sky love Mayweather, in truth because in this country, there's two ways to get mass exposure. Be a real salt of the earth man of the people construct where being British is a pre-requisite (Frank Bruno, Ricky Hatton, Freddie Flintoff) or be a good old fashioned bastard, where being foreign is a bonus (Cristiano Ronaldo, Kevin Pieterson, Haye, Mayweather). Wayne Rooney is currently straddling both of those ;D
Anyway, Haye-Harrison doesn't need it, this fight is huge over here, people at my work with no interest in boxing are asking how far away the fight is. Only about 10% even know who Manny Pacquiao is. Fuck's sake, the Metro (trashy free paper you get on London underground) had two pages devoted to boxing today. One & half to Haye/Harrison related news, the other half split between Rendall Munroe & James DeGale.
As it is, on the 50/50 thing, I do agree people have a point that if Haye is fighting Wladimir, it should go right down the middle. Wlad is THE champ & deserves to get at least his fair share. If on the other hand he fights Vitali, then the rules change. Vitali has no greater leverage over Haye like being the legit champ or having more belts. He has one belt just like Haye. It then comes down to financial considerations. If Haye can draw more than Vitali, he deserves a greater share. If he's bringing in more cash, I see no reason why he shouldn't get more. What leverage does Vitali have that he doesnt? At the end of the day this is a business, and if the shoe was on the other foot, I don't see Vitali compromising on his cashflow ;)

I think also the promotion helps a lot. Ricky hyped the fuck out of his fight with Floyd, far more than with Pacman. He was everywhere and to the general public it was billed as the biggest fight in decades, two fighters coming together with massive unbeaten records. It sold to people who didn't even like boxing.
Compared to the Pacman fight where people didn't care enough to pay.
