There was no jab, and his was being very predictable, which a better fighter would have dealt with. Straight right, left hook, right uppercut if he can get it in. Also when he eventually takes on someone with a little pulling power that they leave Canada, he won't be able to fight in 4x4 ring & will have to deal with using a bit more guile in cutting the ring off.
Don't get me wrong, all the ingredients are there physically, but unless he sharpens up his game he'll get found out by quality guys. His jab is even lazier than Danny Jacobs' & we saw what happens when you do that against a top-tier opponent.
You're just jealous the new king of the universe is from Canada and he has no flaws. Dam naysayer. ;D
Re: Lemieux vs. Camacho Jr. Friday
That's the thing though Jaz. That is just his style. He is a walk forward, dig in deep and hurt you fighter. Some guys use distance and angles. Others, well, other stuff. I don't suspect you will see a whole lot change in his style as he progresses. How well that style fairs in match ups against slicker opponents who can also slug we don't know yet. Time will tell. I know for certain if I was one of them, right now i'd be thinking..."gotdam...that had to hurt!"

Any relation to Mario Lemieux? I have to say watching fights in French is just as good as watching it in Japanese, you don't know wtf they are saying but love the excitement of the commentary.

Haha that's one of the reasons I started following Hasegawa, I mean the kid has quick hands and skills, but when the announcers are on it sounds like he's curing cancer and aids in the ring.
Re: Lemieux vs. Camacho Jr. Friday
No there's no relation to Mario Lemieux. Well, no "close" relation. Lemieux is pretty popular among French Canadian.

I'm pretty sure they both grew up having poutine for breakfast. May as well be first cousins. :D
Re: Lemieux vs. Camacho Jr. Friday
beautiful right hand, IMO a KO of the year candidate
Re: Lemieux vs. Camacho Jr. Friday
According to boxrec, the next opponent for Lemieux will be Purnell Gates...quite a disappointment (expectable too).
Purnell Gates - Boxer

agreed, was hoping he was finally gonna start stepping it up after that win, Rubio would have been a good opponent

I was pretty sure it wouldn't be Rubio. Lemieux had a fight a month ago so it would have been quite surprising if he had a big opponent this soon.

well the thing is Rubio isn't even that big of a name anymore, but he's a good tough test for Lemieux, and honestly i'd pick Lemieux to win the fight, another good fight would be against someone like Duddy

That is true. Andy Lee, Craig McEwan.
Re: Lemieux vs. Camacho Jr. Friday
This setback certainly puts a kink into Camacho Jr's championship aspirations.
