Re: Fights you want to see in 2011??
I can’t believe you didn’t pick out the audley – holyfield fight as the best pick! I can see it all now…audley comes out and freezes again on the big occasion. After making the mistake of throwing one punch against haye he decides not to risk it again and instead opts to not throw any punches at all. So holyfield chases audley around the ring for the first 11 and a half rounds but because of holyfield’s advancing years he can’t manage to catch up with audley and so can’t lay a glove on audley. Then with 10 seconds left holyfield’s dodgy heart catches up with him due to having chased audley around all night and he collapses in a heap.
Holyfield - RIP.
Audley - completes his destiny and is World champion without throwing a punch.
The boxing world breathes a sigh of relief.

My picks of your picks are:
Cleverly - Hopkins
Martin Rogan - Arreola
John Murray - Marquez/katsidis winner (MASSIVE step up for Murray which I think he'd lose)
Harrison vs Holyfield! I hope Audley never gets that name on his CV

Realise some of these have already been mentioned but I'll go for:
Mayweather - Manny
Haye - either Klitschko
Khan - Bradley/alexander
Macklin - Chavez jnr
Paul McCloskey - Malinaggi
Vasquez jnr - Nisiokha
Cleverly - Hopkins
Martin Rogan - Arreola
Solis - Adamek
John Murray - Marquez/katsidis winner
Bute - Ward
Lopez - Gamboa
Groves degale
and last but not least....
Harrison - Holyfield for some version of the world heayweight title (so at least one of them can fulfil their 'destiny' so we can see the back of one of them. Unless it was a draw in which case we would have a rematch to look forward to :)
Re: Fights you want to see in 2011??
Manny Pacman vs Floyd Mayweather
Kel Brook vs Kevin Mitchell
Haye vs Klitschko's
Hatton vs Khan or Marquez

titleist,
okay cupcake, where did i go racist in my comments? you know, this same crap happens all the time in other websites. you have a different opinion than pacfans and you're called a racist. enough with the racist claims already. i wrote my opinions of who i wanted to see fight in 2011. oh, and by the way, having rivalries in boxing is very healthy for the sport. and by the way, violent demise and i have no reason to fight. what might happen though is we might come after you!!! ;D

FLY - pongsaklek wonjongkam vs. edgar sosa - another great fight between two very good fighters. wonjongkam would have the edge in speed but how long will his old body hold up? both are great technicians and whoever has the best day wins. PREDICTION: Toss-up
BANTAM - fernando montiel vs. nonito donaire even though donaire is coming up in weight, he'll still be the bigger guy. both guys are dangerous as both have great power for little guys. montiel has fought the better fighters but donaire is on a serious roll too. PREDICTION: montiel by SD.
BANTAM - abner mares vs. a. j. banal mares is the total package but banal has been coming on strong. besides, it's a classic mexico vs. philippines matchup. PREDICTION: don't think banal's chin can hold up to mares assault. mares by TKO.
FEATHER - juanma lopez vs. celestino caballero this is the fight everyone wants at featherweight but will probably never happen. still a very intriguing fight between the top two featherweights. another close fight but i'm going with my boy juanma lopez. PREDICTION: juanma by TKO.
FEATHER - miguel angel garcia vs. bernabe concepcion - gotta see how good miguel angel garcia is so why not put him in with another good slugger! this fight would be explosive and pits trainer roberto garcia vs. freddie roach once again. PREDICTION: garcia graduates with honors by KOing the strong but game concepcion.
LIGHT - brandon rios vs. urbano antillon - i absolutely love these guys. but right now i think rios is on a serious roll and he seems to be getting better every fight. urbano is good but has many flaws in his game and besides, he's chin is very suspect. PREDICTION: brandon rios by late TKO.
LIGHT - juan manuel marquez vs. humberto soto - i think humberto soto has digressed since he became a lightweight champion. still, a classic mexican civil war! soto would answer the question if marquez is close to the end of a great career.
LIGHT - robert guerrero vs. michael katsidis - katsidis has been improving lately but i think guerrero has a speed advantage. katsidis will be right in his face though and will try to make it a slugfest. if it goes the distance, guerrero wins because of his better skills but katsidis is very dangerous as well. both has excellent chins so i think this fight goes the distance. PREDICTION: guerrero by SD.
LIGHT - antonio de marco vs. mercito gesta - somebody's gotta test the undefeated gesta so why not antonio de marco? would be another classic mexico/philippines matchup. de marco has the experience advantage but gesta is very physically strong. PREDICTION: de marco by TKO. too big, too long, too good.
JR. WELT - timothy bradley vs. joan guzman - a very intriguing matchup. i like both fighters so it's going to be hard to pick one. bradley has fresher legs and is the naturally bigger man. guzman, although a great, great fighter has been so inactive in the last 5-6 years. PREDICTION: gotta go with the younger, fresher, more active fighter. bradley by UD.
JR. WELT - victor ortiz vs. amir khan - khan definitely has the speed but ortiz isn't slow either. i don't think this fight goes the distance. khan's chin is suspect but so is ortiz'! PREDICTION: ortiz hits harder so i'll go with him via late TKO.
WELT - floyd jr. vs. pacquiao - this fight probably won't happen but this is a potential classic fight for the ages. pacquiao on a serious roll but floyd jr. is a master counterpuncher and that seems to be the answer to beating pacquiao. PREDICTION: mayweather jr. by close UD.
WELT - andre berto vs. saul alvarez - berto would be the easiest route for alvarez to win a title in 2011. is he ready? maybe but i think he needs another year or two. should be a slugfest while it lasts and i actually think alvarez hits harder than berto. still...PREDICTION: alvarez isn't ready yet so i've got to say berto takes it by TKO.
JR. MID - miguel angel cotto vs. alfredo angulo - another great matchup between puerto rico and mexico. i think cotto is still a great boxer but i question his ability to take serious punishment. angulo, although slower, would be the hardest puncher cotto has ever faced. PREDICTION: this is not an indictment on cotto but i think he's seen better days. angulo by late TKO.
MID - dimitry pirog vs. sergio martinez what a matchup! pirog certainly made a statement in his last fight. martinez is getting up in age but seems to be getting better and better. PREDICTION: hard to predict this fight because both are so good so i'll go with the more experienced fight. martinez by SD.
SUPER MID - lucian bute vs. andre ward - if their not already, i don't know why both of these guys aren't in boxings top ten yet! i'm a big fan of both these guys and it's going to be a treat to watch. don't see any knockouts in this fight so i'll go with...PREDICTION: andre ward by UD.
LT. HEAVY - jean pascal vs. tavoris cloud - another great slugfest while it lasts. both have serious power and good hand speed. both are young and on the upswing. PREDICTION: pascal by TKO. anyone who can beat chad dawson definitely has my attention.
HEAVY - wladimir klitschko vs. david haye - reason why i went with wladimir is because he has the weaker chin than vitali. should be a good fight if haye comes to fight. otherwise klitschko is going to dominate him and maybe even knock haye out. PREDICTION: can't see klitschko losing this one but haye is already dangerous at any moment. i'll go with the upset and go with haye by TKO.
Holy shit, was gonna post, but that was so thorough I'm not gonna bother. Ha. Nice work
EDIT: Just to add, I'd love, albeit probably on my own, but to see John Murray in with Antonio De Marco or Juan Diaz at Lightweight
