herrera didn't do enough last round I don't think, didn't score it round by round but think dallas narrowly took it in the end. Started outworking hererra on the inside, altho I think he got away with holding herreras arm a little to much.
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
I don't know, I kinda of lean towards Dallas for wanting it more in the last 2 rounds, Dallas 5-4-1 even.
A draw would work as well.

Dallas was outworking him, but a lot of those shots were blocked or wild. I'm not sure Dallas OUTLANDED him.
I'm also not sure he didn't ;)

Man here I was about to say teddys card is a bit wiiiide and then I hear 98-92 wtf???? I mean draw is fine or 96-94 either way but 98-92 is nuts
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
LMAO, poor Dallas Jr, oh well.
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
See those scores don't seem crazy to me.
I had it a draw with three VERY close rounds. So I could see an 8-2 score.
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
ESPN should kick up and make these guys a main event rematch in two months.
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
Teddy and Joe are just wrong here seeing this decision as "wrong."
Teddy needs to think what it means that he stands alone having Dallas winning widely.
-
I feel bad for Dallas Jr, but Herrera worked hard too.
I think part of Dallas' problem is he fought Herrera's fight...he did well but had he stuck to his gameplan he may have won.

Completely agree. He had moments where he dominated but he didn't/couldn't stay with it.

Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
Men like Canelo and Gamboa could make themselves millions of additional dollars if they will learn and get comfortable with English.
-
Yeah teddy started talking like dallas was dominating the fight , which definitely wasn't happening. Like I said I had him narrowly taking it but no problem with herrera geting the win hell of a close fight. Seconded on the rematch glad we got to see a great fight.

Nicely put. I think that was one of those fights where BOTH guys come out looking good.
-
Not exciting???? Fuck Teddy, what do you want from Alvarez?
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
Rhodes is gracious in defeat, I like that kind of sportsmanship.
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
Oh Teddy.
If there is one thing Canelo Alvarez has as far as I can tell? It is a fighter's mind and approach. What he may lack is the kind of sheer talent that Chavez or Sal Sanchez or Olivares had.
But his approach? Exemplary as far as I can tell.

[laughing]
I'm not sure you can accuse a guy who drilled you of "running."
-
lol marble I guess that lundy guy is still suffering after effects from the punch
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
These guys are pretty good!
Round to Frankel but keep an eye on the Molina left hook. He came awfully close twice with it.
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
Visually these two fights back to back are fascinating;
Dallas and Hererra moved like fencers, back and forth in straight lines.
These two now are revolving like a clock.

You know what the problem with boxing is as opposed to MMA (especially UFC) is that in boxing we're so quick to criticize and we criticize harshly. In MMA they RARELY complain about the product they get (at least the Play by Play and Color Man don't).
In boxing its different strokes for different folks...some guys like a boxer, some guys like the brute force. In MMA "diversity" is celebrated and not frowned upon, and part of that adds to Joe Rogan being a total tool.

Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
Round two to Frankel.
Couple of questions. Does Frankel have the legs to go ten this way?
That Molia hook is whistling and Frankel better pay attention.

I hear ya but we should also recognize the elements of skill and craft, celebrate when they are present and recognize when they aren't.

Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
I think Frankel won that round as well but the Molina pressure is already starting to tell.
This look a little like a poor man's Cotto-Margarito to anyone else?

lol, probably not until after Haye gets the wires out of his fractured jaw. ;)

Molina only comes alive at the end of rounds.

Yes, but what we get is all negative comments because you can't have everything. If there was a Ray Robinson today certain boxing pundits would complain. Being a boxer these days is like going into politics...your opponents are just going trash you.
....Damn I see a stoppage due to cuts coming
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
THERE'S That Molina hook!
-
HAHA! Molina used a move I always used! Feint the right and throw a left hook....love it!
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
I always feel for guys like Frankel who aren't big punchers, if you don't have the power to keep guys like Molina off of you, you're just fucked.

Again, I hear ya. I do! But that recognition is what let's me at least really appreciate men like Juan Manuel Marquez and BHOP and Andre Ward. But I appreciate the "cavemen" too :)

Yup. Sometimes balls just aren't enough. Talent tells.
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
This is a GREAT pro fight!
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
I was just thinking that Frankel's corner better watch their man closely.
I don't know if I would have stopped it but I don't have a big problem.
I don't like to see a fight stopped on a cut unless the fighter cannot deal with it.
-
....Who said it was going to get stopped on cuts?

Don't hurt your shoulder patting yourself on the back!

Good LORD!
He looks less like Frankel and more like "The Frankel-stein Monster"......"ARRRR Molina punch BAAAAAAD"
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
Good stoppage, Frankel's cuts looked bad, and his right eye was almost shut.
-
Re: FNF thread forJune 24th
Time for Molina to step up.
Tony DeMarco?
