Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ
Povetkin news from Teddy.................................
Povetkin is going to fight Chagaev. Not bad, not Klitschko but somehow the WBA still gets sanctioning fees.

Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ
WHO THE HELL is Sogg-ee-ev Teddy?
-
Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ
I dunno Teddy. For a step up fight the kid's doing fine.
He isn't a complete fighter yet, but we knew that.

Also he's waiting for a guy that doesn't want to lead. A steady jab would have broken Lucero down already.

Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ
Down goes Lucero once again. Go figure. :D

It's funny. He does 75% of what he should very well. He'll jab, cross, hook and step, but he won't punch again off that step.
I think the pieces are there.

Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ
And as Ring said, please quit freaking grunting. If I hear grunting during a sporting event, there better be a hot chick wearing a skirt and trying to hit a fuzzy yellow ball.

Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ
All in all a pretty good performance for Evans. How about somebody like a Cassius Baloyi next?
Too big a step?

That's what I thought too. The kid's like an unassembled puzzle. The pieces are there, now a trainer needs to assemble them.

Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ
I know I'm in the minority on Wlad, but I've thrown up my hands.
He will fight ANYBODY, he dominates EVERYBODY.
What more can we ask?
Does his competition stink? I think so. But that is beyond his control.

Damn right Capt, it better be a woman. :)

Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ
BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
Apples to apples Tyson had two defenses, not ten!
Lennox had eight.
Wlad has three now.
Come on ESPN!
-
Re: FNF 7/8/11 Phoenix, AZ
I'm with you on Wlad. He just dominates guys.
His fights that are boring are against the best there is out there (Haye, Ibragimov, etc...).
It seems the better the opponent the more they run.
If you put a lesser guy like Thompson or Brock in there with him, they seem to have been more willing to fight with Wlad (or maybe they just don't have the feet like the better guys to keep moving), and you end up with good fights.

I thought Tessitore said both had over 100 amateur fights.
Love how Casper switched from southpaw to orthodox during the fight and it wasn't a bullshit gimmick!!

Yeah he did that in round one as well. I don't usually think it's a good idea, but it sure was tonight.
