Re: Paul Williams vs. Nobuhiro Ishida - Saturday night fight thread
I just got my DIRECTV back working in time to see the fights tonight after having technical problems all afternoon, and being told it would take 4 days to be sent a new receiver by mail. After resetting the old receiver, and doing some things with the remote I got it back working.. so i'm happy now.. :happy0931sb4:
I've got several bottles of St. Pauli Girl taking up too much space in my 'fridge, time to move some of the inventory.
:alcoholic:
Not a bad little 6 rounder, looks like Lopez might come back to take this.

One thing i've learned about myself during my 63 years of life, Armin, sometimes I'm wrong, (and I usually admit when I am) but my opinions are just as valid as anyone's else's on the planet, and more often than not, i'm right.
cheers dude :)

Re: Paul Williams vs. Nobuhiro Ishida - Saturday night fight thread
Ah super, it's on! Thanks again Diane.
I'm hoping Williams can roll back a year or two and get things back on track here. He has fallen into habits recently and needs to do something about it.

You're welcome.

Re: Paul Williams vs. Nobuhiro Ishida - Saturday night fight thread
Alrighty, Here we go Gus Johnson, Tarver & Bernstein calling the action, 1st up Cloud vs. Campillo.
-
Re: Paul Williams vs. Nobuhiro Ishida - Saturday night fight thread
I'm Gus Johnson and I'm worse than Jim Lampley

Re: Paul Williams vs. Nobuhiro Ishida - Saturday night fight thread
I predict Cloud will rain on Campillo's plain.
-
Re: Paul Williams vs. Nobuhiro Ishida - Saturday night fight thread
damn, if I was still living in Corpus Christi, Texas, i'd be at the fights tonight.
-
Re: Paul Williams vs. Nobuhiro Ishida - Saturday night fight thread
Gotta love Cloud. He's what we need more of, less talk more fight... but for his sake I hope he packed a lunch tonight!
-
-
Re: Paul Williams vs. Nobuhiro Ishida - Saturday night fight thread
Cloud just beat Campillo up and down with 2 kds in the 1st :o His legs look very very stiff!
-
Re: Paul Williams vs. Nobuhiro Ishida - Saturday night fight thread
Wow, Campillo showing some sack coming back from the two 1st round KD's, and winning the 2nd round.
-
Re: Paul Williams vs. Nobuhiro Ishida - Saturday night fight thread
Nice combos and bounce back by Campillo in 2nd...wow. 1-1 all here
-
Re: Paul Williams vs. Nobuhiro Ishida - Saturday night fight thread
Campillo is a fluid sob...that uppercut is there all night!
-
Cloud hurt his hand or somethin? 2--2 in rounds?
-
Re: Paul Williams vs. Nobuhiro Ishida - Saturday night fight thread
Campillo making a fight of it, better 4th round for Cloud, who has a small cut over his left eye.
-
Re: Paul Williams vs. Nobuhiro Ishida - Saturday night fight thread
I got Campillo up ??? 3-1
-
Re: Paul Williams vs. Nobuhiro Ishida - Saturday night fight thread
Man. Cloud has to seriously shorten up his shots...Campillo is almost fencing him and spinning him well.
-
Re: Paul Williams vs. Nobuhiro Ishida - Saturday night fight thread
I don't get how this is not the main event?
-
Re: Paul Williams vs. Nobuhiro Ishida - Saturday night fight thread
Some of these rounds are hard to score, in rounds i've got Campillo up 3-2 after 5, but of course Cloud had that 10-7 1st round.
-
Re: Paul Williams vs. Nobuhiro Ishida - Saturday night fight thread
i thought cloud was supposed to be a good fighter...
-
Re: Paul Williams vs. Nobuhiro Ishida - Saturday night fight thread
Cloud cut on eye and nose. 4-2 Campillo. Campillo gets trapped on ropes often. Love Campillos punch selection

That's what I was saying in the OP, it's a fucking title fight, and Williams has lost his last 2 fights, how does he rate main event status.
-
Re: Paul Williams vs. Nobuhiro Ishida - Saturday night fight thread
This is a cracking fight, loving it. Who would have thought it after round 1?
-
Big round 7 for campilo ripin cloud, cloud just don't look rright at all
-
Re: Paul Williams vs. Nobuhiro Ishida - Saturday night fight thread
Campillo is fighting a hell of a fight, which is surprising, I thought he was done in the 1st., but the fucking guy can fight.
-
Re: Paul Williams vs. Nobuhiro Ishida - Saturday night fight thread
Wow, Cloud is getting fucked up here. Those combinations seldom miss.
-
Round 8 big for campilo, uses shoulder nicely to block n push...but cloud just don't look right
-
Re: Paul Williams vs. Nobuhiro Ishida - Saturday night fight thread
Like I've said since the Glen Johnson fight, I haven't really seen anything special in Cloud. And he's being exposed tonight when his opponent has a good jab and movement.
-
Re: Paul Williams vs. Nobuhiro Ishida - Saturday night fight thread
I'm really suprised...Campillo is beatng him up big time. Selects punches very well and is doing far more damage
-
Re: Paul Williams vs. Nobuhiro Ishida - Saturday night fight thread
Seems like Cloud has lost his confidence. I'm impressed with the way Campillo completely turned this fight around after that horrible first round. If it goes to the cards, I sure hope Campillo doesn't get screwed.

Re: Paul Williams vs. Nobuhiro Ishida - Saturday night fight thread
Yeah, Majesty I was thinking that too. So crude and a little bit of slickness and he looks out of his depth.
He needs to go for broke here because I have him down and increasingly so.
-
Re: Paul Williams vs. Nobuhiro Ishida - Saturday night fight thread
If I was in Campillos corner...:smilie_whisper: "btw his promoter is Don King...DON KING"
Go for the KO with your own judges!!
-
Re: Paul Williams vs. Nobuhiro Ishida - Saturday night fight thread
If it keeps going the way it's going, Campillo should win a decision, but remember, this fight is in the States/Texas and Don King is Cloud's promoter, so my guess is Campillo will get screwed on the cards..

Another overhyped offensive minded fighter that got by because he had power but has had flaws shown in his armor along the way. Like I said Glen Johnson even exposed him a bit and since then I've felt like he was going to lose eventually, and tonight seems to be it. Dunno why people were hyping this guy like he was a world beater or something. I mean Tarver could get in that ring right now at Light Heavy and beat him.
-
If this wasn't for the first round this would be a clinic like performance

If the guy he's fighting uses combinations he'll stop Cloud. Clouds defense consists of "standing there with my hands up taking punches and occasionally ducking"
