Cotto vs. Floyd Jr. & "Canelo" Alvarez vs. Mosley - Saturday night fight thread

Can't wait for this fight, floyd is going to have a easy night tonight just wait and see its going to be mayweather vs gatti all over again. Alvarez will also be to much for mosley dont think mosley has much to offer at this stage anymore.

Im advocating KO from an accumulation. Floyd has been moving forward and not back for a while. I just see Cotto face getting cut and same with his mouth. And I think the punches Floyd does land will have their effect late. I can see the red or the corner pulling him out especially if there is 0 chance of him winning a decision

You may be right JT, and not to sound like i'm arguing, but I don't see Floyd stopping Cotto in any form or fashion. If Floyd wins it will be by a decision.

I'm gonna buy it, but i'll see if I can find you a stream if you havn't already found one, when I get back from the store. I'm getting a 6 pk. of Guinness in bottles for this fight, if the fight sucks at least I've got some good brew to drink. :cool:

Okie Dokie, I just bought the DIRECTV HBO PPV for $69.95, which I said i'd never do for a fight Mayweather is part of. I guess my reasoning for this is, I really feel like the main event will be somewhat dramatic and should be competitive, so WTF, it's only money, why not live a little. :cool:

This card (below) begins @9:00 PM ET tonight, or in about 1 1/2 hours from now. Since it's a PPV, in addition to "Canelo" Alvarez vs. Mosley i'm sure HBO will also show Jessie Vargas vs. Steve Forbes and Carlos Quintana vs. Deandre Latimore.

At Las Vegas (HBO PPV): Miguel Cotto vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr., 12 rounds, for Cotto's WBA junior middleweight title; Saul "Canelo" Alvarez vs. Shane Mosley, 12 rounds, for Alvarez's WBC junior middleweight title; Jessie Vargas vs. Steve Forbes, 10 rounds, welterweights; Carlos Quintana vs. Deandre Latimore, 10 rounds, junior middleweights.

I have to stand by my man Miguel, but if he loses, I won't be that upset, because he would be losing to one of the best out there, so there's no shame in that.

Eh, what's up with that is, we get ripped off here Andre, that why I hardly ever buy a PPV, it's not so much the money as it is the principal of the thing.

The Mayweather fight is FREE on Polish public TV, probably Alvarez fight too. Expect a bunch of streams with a funny language.

Alrighty, here we go, Lampley, Merchant, Steward and Kellerman calling the action for HBO PPV tonight.

First up: Carlos Quintana vs. Deandre Latimore, 10 rounds, junior middleweights, so 3 fights before the main event.

Quintana you might recall won the WW title from Paul Williams only to get waxed in the rematch.

Ledderman has it even 2-2 after 4 rounds in this 10 round opener.

I believe Quintana is up 3-1, after 4 and outworking Latimore.

Quintana just did a number on latimore

Quintana pounds Latimore to the canvas in the 6th round, nice KO for the 'Rican, great opener.

So far this is one of the best days of boxin in a loooooong time

Next up, Jessie Vargas vs. Steve Forbes, 10 rounds, welterweights. I thought Forbes retired, who knew.

I have little interest in Vargas or Forbes, Vargas figures to win a boring 10 round decision in this one.

Man, Forbes belongs noooo where near this weight, maybe not even the ring anymore. All guts but he better bring a bat(s)

I would love it if shane could turn back the clock and do a number on alvarez but to old and 154 was never his best weight to begin with

Mosley is done, but I am on the side of the underdog. Shane is looking older in the face now too, kind of tense looking. Still, boxing can sometimes be a funny one.

I just want to see how Alvarez responds if-when he gets hurt. I think (hope) Mosley can at least land some truth tellers

part of me really wonders if Mosley is going to be willing to 'piss' in his own living room in this one...He, Canelo, Mayweather and GBP promotions are all sharing the ring tonight. All in the family so to speak :-X

I would LOVE to see Mosley pull off the upset here. I can't stand Alvarez.

Mosley's looks very stiff-legged and Alvarez' shots seem to have a thudding power behind them.

Mosley won that round. Alvarez didn't throw for 90 seconds.
