Thats pretty harsh on bute, froch landed alot of heavy power shots, i think bute did well to stay on his feet as long as he did, froch had the fight of his life, if he'd landed as many shots as he did on bute on ward or kessler they'd of been in trouble,Quote:
This is a chin issue.
So how come bute was able to stop Andrade??
Andrade is no different to froch according to everyone!! Cos Andrade and froch are pure sluggers and bute was at his peak here so what's the deal??
I completely agree with you. I have never seen Bute looked so out of his element. He didn't fight anything like I've seen him in the past. He didn't move. His reactions weren't like they usually are. His punching power didn't even seem there as it usually is.
@IamInuit , listen I hate to be harsh, as you know I'm a Bute fan, but he's alread proved over and over that he can beat the Sakio Bika's and Glen Johnson's of the world. Do we need to continue to see him do it? Clearly, he's better than that. He's in between a rock and a hard place here. I would love to see him take the rematch with Froch and avenge his defeat, although the odds would be heavily stacked against him. Otherwise, where does he go?
IF Bute can bounce back with a couple of wins, I think a fight with Pascal in Montreal would be his best chance to win at the top level. That would sell out like nothing and Pascal does not have the workrate to pull a similar number on Bute, although he'd still be a heavy favourite imo.
I dread to think what Ward would have done to Bute.
he's done as an "elite" fighter because honestly he isn't one.
If he wants to test his worthyness at this level there is always Dirrell and Kessler if he does not want to fight Froch again. He might want a confidence fight before he fights another top fighter though. When he takes on any of the top four we will get a better picture of his worthyness at top level.
I would not be too demoralised. It has happened to good fighters before. Look at Khan vs Prescot.
Khan got destroyed by prescot in there fight now Khan is at the top and Prescot sinking lower and lower. One bad fight does not mean the end, It just depends whether he has the go in him to pick himself up, learn, improve and train hard for the next fight.
I agree. Whats he to do? Safe to say that Froch approaches the fight in the same way. Like Andrade did.
Bute looked a tad transparent at the weigh in so maybe 175 I don't know. The litany of fighters that have persevered through this kind of adversity is long. The way fighters are written off in this day and age bothers me.
Facts: bute was the best ever but froch beat him easy. Ward would have struggled with bute!!
Froch was good against him because he has raw power with dirrell speed. I believe froch would beat haggler, Leonard and hearns.
