Re: Miguel Cotto vs Austin Trout - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Here we go pilgrims, ( BTW, Spaten Optimatator is damn good brew, my wife says to tell everyone she recommends it. ;)
Brian Kenny in the studio, Al Bernstein, Ranallo and Pauli the fruitcake calling the action for Showtime, first up, Jayson Velez vs. Salvador Sanchez II, 10 rounds, junior lightweights.
Salvador Sanchez must have a nephew, who knew. nice hair. :-\

I see Austin as your typical "robotic" fighter fighter who does everything to the book. He doesn't have angles, he doesn't have waist movement and his ring generalship lacks. Aside from being younger I don't believe he posses any skills that will trouble Cotto.
All Cotto has to do is show up and fight his fight. Cotto wins.
Not by me friend. Cotto is my guy and I think he wins. I just think Trout is being a little underestimated based on the Delvin fight.

Yo Tam, couldn't your parents spell? J/k bro - This card begins @9:00 PM ET on Showtime Saturday here in the States, and
at 2:00 AM Sunday morning for you hardcore fans/night owls in the UK/Europe, et al. (on BoxNation?
The fights come on tonight in about an hour and 15 mins. I've got a little buzz tonight, WTF, sobriety is overrated. :scratchchin::happy0931sb4:
Its getting late man haha! and both of my parents can spell btw haha, both are in fact teachers. I dont think im staying up for this im going to watch burnley - blackburn tomorrow which is a big derby for are football club and its an early kick off so i need sleep I will check up here in the morning hoping Cotto has won a battle in NY.
I'm sure "Tam" must be a British thing, us yanks don't understand. :)

Buncey telling some story about Gerry Cooney lifting him up by his foot ;D

Re: Miguel Cotto vs Austin Trout - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Aloha guys and gal. Good to see Ears Jacob right back at it, hope they step him up down the road. He already has a championship in beating that asshole that is cancer!
I think Cotto pulls out the text book and holds Trouts face in it and will have him repeating lines late. Trout is an ok guy but he's never been this deep and I don't think he has the ferocity to make a Cotto wilt. DING fookin DING!!!

Re: Miguel Cotto vs Austin Trout - Saturday night fight/chat thread
I think Jacobs puts Ginger to sleep in the first 5.
-
Re: Miguel Cotto vs Austin Trout - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Oops, Daniel Jacobs vs. Chris Fitzpatrick, 10 rounds, middleweights up first, sorry folks, a triple header.
-
Re: Miguel Cotto vs Austin Trout - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Good evening peeps. Spaten definitely do good beers. Their Oktoberfest beer is really good when you're in the mood to drink something cold anmd refreshing.
The Corona girls are fantastic tonight but Corona, like all the big Mexican beers, is piss. Any time you've got to jam a wedge of lime in the neck of a bottle to make it taste of something you might as well not bother.
-
Re: Miguel Cotto vs Austin Trout - Saturday night fight/chat thread
God Fitzpatrick's handspeed is soooo slow, that even Stevie Wonder could see a punch coming.
-
Re: Miguel Cotto vs Austin Trout - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Real nice up swing by Jacobs, putting them together! Time to close the road testing down in 4th
Corona gals have to be the most effective form of subliminal ads I've ever seen btw

Jacobs doesn't seem any worse for the wear because of the cancer, he's beating the piss out of Fitzpatrick.
I guess it comes down to is what Trout brings to the dance, who knows the dude could fight the fight of his life, that's what's fun about boxing. What i'd like to see is Cotto starching this mo-fo, but you never know.

Re: Miguel Cotto vs Austin Trout - Saturday night fight/chat thread
The ginger guy wants the ref to stop it but the ref is doing a Smoger impersonation.
EDIT: Ah.
-
Re: Miguel Cotto vs Austin Trout - Saturday night fight/chat thread
It's good to see Jacobs back. It is great to see someone overcome cancer and box.

Spaden Optimator is actually a malt liquor, it's got some bite to it, 7.6 % according to the label, it's got a good heavy German beer taste, i'll definitely be buying some more.
Jacobs stops Fitzpatrick, no surprise there, dude looks pretty damn good for a cancer survivor.

Re: Miguel Cotto vs Austin Trout - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Beating this Salvador Sanchez don't mean the same as beating the original Salvador Sanchez
-
Re: Miguel Cotto vs Austin Trout - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Now we've got, Jayson Velez vs. Salvador Sanchez II, 10 rounds, junior lightweights, if I were Velez I might be slightly intimidated by Sanchez II's hair, but that's just me.
-
Re: Miguel Cotto vs Austin Trout - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Didn't they call this the 'Silver wbc championship'...???
How does a guy not ranked in top ten fight for any championship?

Eh, and besides it's a nephew, this fucker looks lame.
-
Re: Miguel Cotto vs Austin Trout - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Velez should be ashamed of himself for letting Sanchez see the 2nd round
-
Re: Miguel Cotto vs Austin Trout - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Sanchez has an awe inspiring hairdo, I hope he can pull a surprise.
-
Re: Miguel Cotto vs Austin Trout - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Sanchez II blocking punches with his face.
-
Re: Miguel Cotto vs Austin Trout - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Yeah. This isn't lasting much longer.
-
Re: Miguel Cotto vs Austin Trout - Saturday night fight/chat thread
I blame the hair for that KD. It's slowing him down.
-
They should stop this mismatch, and lol at the trainer slapping sanchez
-
Re: Miguel Cotto vs Austin Trout - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Just because you wear your uncle's trunks, and copy his do, doesn't mean that you are going to be able to fight like him. :p
-
Re: Miguel Cotto vs Austin Trout - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Hope he doesn't hit him too hard or all the owls nesting in that fro will fly the fuck out
horseshit...they called it WBC silver belt title..wtf ??? Sanchez ranked 11th
-
Re: Miguel Cotto vs Austin Trout - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Impressive hair, but probably not sensible.
-
Re: Miguel Cotto vs Austin Trout - Saturday night fight/chat thread
You can tell which fighter had amatuer experience and which didn't

Re: Miguel Cotto vs Austin Trout - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Salvador Sanchez up in heaven telling everybody "I don't know that muthafukka"
-
Re: Miguel Cotto vs Austin Trout - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Dude didn't have a chance with that do, it's like the Samson thing, only in reverse.
-
Re: Miguel Cotto vs Austin Trout - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Proof that you can wear Supermans cape, but you better just stick to jumping off of the front porch.
Joke "championship"...a bad one. Like Gallagher bad
-
Re: Miguel Cotto vs Austin Trout - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Damn. He talks like his name is Orlando Cruz
-
Re: Miguel Cotto vs Austin Trout - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Velez should slap the fuck out of Jim Gray, just for fun.
-
Re: Miguel Cotto vs Austin Trout - Saturday night fight/chat thread
I'm not all that excited about this Cotto fight. It's one of the weaker fights of a terrific December. Looking at Trouts record, he hasn't really beaten anyone. It's a filler fight really.

Re: Miguel Cotto vs Austin Trout - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Here we go with the main, (Diane's palms are sweating).
