Re: Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez IV - Saturday night fight/chat thread
For the first time ever, won't pay to watch Pacquiao. I'm still reeling from the Bradley win. Pacman deserves better. Maybe Mayweather will finally step up.

Re: Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez IV - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Just watched the 3rd fight for the first time. I wouyldn't pay for it on Primetime because I stupidly thought weigfht would be a factor and it wouldn't be competative. I was very wrong. I actually scored the 3rd fight a draw but there were so many rounds were I was torn. I gave the 2nd fight to Marquez quite clearly and was pretty pissed off after the fight.
All that being said I think Manny will win a clear decision tonight.
I'm surprised people don't want to see it again. 3 great enjoyable fights. I'm looking forward to it.

Well I was rooting for Marquez, but I thought he threw a few early ones away.

You rich gits get to watch it live, I will have to use the teletext tomorrow to find the result.

I 'm going out on a limb here and picking Pacquiao by UD.
I hope he is as upset about Bradley as I am. I'm pissed off he's not fighting Bradley so I hope he stomps JMM's ass.
Of course, anything can happen when judges are doing whatever it is they do.

Unfortunately, I have this same sentiment. I believe that Pac is on a decline both physically and mentally. He does not have the same determination as before. If his last previous fights are any indication, then this may well be the fight that will result to his retirement. I hope it isn't so but would not be surprised if it is.

Xactly, but what do you think about the unusual confindence Pac has been showing for this fight? I think it's a case of overconfidence, but hope I'm wrong though... Just hope he'll be coming forward strong this time (of course without getting knocked in the process); definitely I'm not counting on it though...

Re: Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez IV - Saturday night fight/chat thread
I've backed Marquez on points @ 11/4.
And Over 10.5 rounds.
And as a saver Pacquiao in 7, 8 and 9. Basically I can't lose unless Pac stops him in 6 or sooner.
And Marquez for the straight win at 15/8.

Re: Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez IV - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Pacquiao is not the same fighter he was just 2 years ago, his last two performances have been lackluster with little of that well known Pacquiao zip and relentless pressure. Where are the angles? Where is his ring craftmanship? I'm expecting him to lose to Marquez unless there is a return to the Pacquaio of old, and as we all know with boxers who begin to lose their aura of invincibility a real bad loss is just around the corner. Marquez by UD

I'm thinking we see Manny at his best tonight, and Marquez gets stopped somewhere after the 7th round.

Re: Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez IV - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Dinamita by UD!
Come on! Justice!
-
Re: Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez IV - Saturday night fight/chat thread
My only concern here is that Marquez will try to hard to take it away from the judges and get caught.
-
Re: Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez IV - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Kenny Bayless is the ref, which sucks, and the 3 judges are: Adalaide Byrd, Steve Weisfeld and John Keane. I don't know why the fuck they would use an unqualified POS like Adalaide Byrd to judge this big fight, or any fight for that matter.

Re: Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez IV - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Pacquiao couldn't decisively beat him 2008, when he was near his peak. He's declined since 2009 and his last encounter with Marquez was his worst performance yet.
I'm going with Marquez this fight, by knockout. This fight should define the entire Marquez-Pacquiao episode.

Well hopefully it will, I know I damn sure won't be watching a Pac-JMM V.

Re: Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez IV - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Alrighty, here we go, Javier Fortuna vs. Patrick Hyland, 12 rounds, for vacant WBA interim featherweight title.
At Las Vegas (HBO PPV): Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez, fourth fight, 12 rounds, welterweights; Yuriorkis Gamboa vs. Michael Farenas, 12 rounds, for vacant WBA interim junior lightweight title; Miguel Vazquez vs. Mercito Gesta, 12 rounds, for Vazquez's IBF lightweight title; Javier Fortuna vs. Patrick Hyland, 12 rounds, for vacant WBA interim featherweight title.

What time does the fight start in the UK??

Re: Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez IV - Saturday night fight/chat thread
You can't really post anything when the site is lagging like this. Usually you can post in real time and post round by round, but it's just not happening today. I'm just going to try and watch and see if I can post later. Anyway enjoy the fights! Something doesn't sit easy with a man fighting the P4P number 1 when he is 39, but Marquez has proven himself the better boxer over 3. It's almost like they keep fighting just so Pac can eventually get the man when he is finally just too old. Hopefully that won't be the case here.
39 is ancient in any division and that is just an unavoidable fact. However, there are aberrations and hopefully Marquez really is kryptonite.

I'm just going to do the best I can, the lag is terrible and frustrating. Fortuna is pretty much dominating after 6 rounds.

Re: Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez IV - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Can anyone get me a stream for this? i'M struggling.
-
Re: Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez IV - Saturday night fight/chat thread
This fight is fucking terrible. Fortuna seems fast but he's all show and no substance. Hyland is not a world level fighter. Seems like they just wanted to give Fortuna a title. He'll get found out soon enough. Hyland appears already found out.
-
Re: Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez IV - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Hyland, likely needs a KO going into the 12th or Fortuna will win a decision.
-
Re: Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez IV - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Officially Fortuna wins a UD. zzzz
-
Re: Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez IV - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Evening all. I was thinking Marquez wins the fight, Manny gets the decision. I'm now thinking Manny wins the fight too. Maybe even a late stoppage. Going for Gesta here, think he has enough to do this.
-
Re: Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez IV - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Up next: Miguel Vazquez vs. Mercito Gesta, 12 rounds, for Vazquez's IBF lightweight title.
-
Re: Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez IV - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Nice one! The site is much quicker.
I thought the last fight was alright, but both fighters are no match for the top guys in their divisions.
I'm supporting Vasquez in this one.
-
Re: Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez IV - Saturday night fight/chat thread
Gesta seems like he is in some kind of coma. Easy work for Vasquez so far. 2-0.
-
Re: Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez IV - Saturday night fight/chat thread
At this point I see no reason to think Vazquez won't win a UD. That could change obviously.
I had to work overnight last night, I'm not sure I'm gonna make it to the main event. Seriously, we have another fight after this?
"Let me referee my fight. Shut up." Well said.
