I honestly believe money and fame, more fame than money though. He doesn't seem to be interested in boxing. If he fights people that aren't that big he doesn't get as much notice fame wise or money as he would if he fought V Klitschko. Which is the biggest and most paying fight for him.
Just my theory.

People slag Haye because he's mouthy and he spends more time talking than he does in the ring. But if you look at what he has achieved when he has fought, it is hard not to be impressed. As a fight he has all the tools and keeps himself in peak physical condition. His speed and power are superb for a Heavyweight and I honestly can't see anyone outside the Klitschko's beating him. The reason he doesn't fight is more to do with money than anything. Haye is all about the risk-reward. Mayweather does the exact same thing.

Haye was a very good cruiserweight and at heavyweight he manoeuvred himself well to get a title. Haye is nothing like Floyd at this weight division. Haye does not fight because he knows he will get knocked out by a heavyweight.

He fought the best Heavyweight in the world and din't get knocked out. No Heavyweight he has fought has knocked him out so I fail to see your logic here.

Re: Fury: UK fans don't understand boxing, Johnson a top 5 Heavyweight
Haye is no Holyfield he has carefully selected his opponents at heavyweights. He has done it for a reason that his chin is not as durable as it should be at heavyweight. His performance against Wlad was poor and negative. What makes Haye think he does not have to fight Adamek, Arreleo and others to earn a proper shot. He said Vitali must fight him because Vitali has no legacy fight. He thinks way too much of himself.

Klitschko - 51 KOs
Ruiz - 30 KOs
Valuev - 34 KOs
I don't think you even believe half the shit your saying.
Just your dislike of Haye clouding your judgement.

Exactly. Not to mention that Adamek and Arreola don't go looking for Haye.

This is funny. I am a Haye fan but a realist. I see him for what he is, trying to get the most amount of money for the least risk possible. I know that is the nature of the game but Haye is too obvious.

How is Mayweather not the same? He'd have fought Pacquiao by now if he wasn't.

Floyd have proved he is the best welterweight in the division and p4p when he went up and beat ODH and Cotto.

So by taking the most amount of money for the least risk possible? I'm a Floyd fan but this is the game. Haye fights the same amount of times a year and does the exact same thing.

Calzaghe made a career of doing exactly that.

He fought Wlad, raped Chisora when many were saying he would get his Ass owned and now wants to fight Vitali....how is that the least risk possible

He was out of his depth against Wlad and that performance was embarrassing, even with the toe injury. Chisora had lost to Vitali and Tyson Fury, wow.

Re: Fury: UK fans don't understand boxing, Johnson a top 5 Heavyweight
I disagree that UK fans dont understand Boxing but I do agree that Johnson was a top 5 HW when Tyson beat him.. ( alphabet rankings dont mean shit )
Tyson beat Johnson more convincingly than Vitali did imo and that speaks volumes..
IT's unbelievable how Tyson has elevated his game since few years back.. It's as if he's really starting to understand the sweet science..
