The Quigg fight really needs to happen. I personally think Carl hits too hard and has a little too much for him.
They're talking about Frampton getting a world title shot this year.
If it happens it will definitely be tight. Quigg's defence is better than Frampton and he is starting to master the mechanics of hitting harder. He will be harder to hit than Martinez but yeah Carl can bang, so it will be a great match up.
It will definitely be a good fight when it happens. Frampton will probably pick up a world title first, but it could happen this year hopefully.
I really like the look of Frampton. He's shown that he can adapt to opponents. He can box on the back foot when he needs to and he can fight in close and slug when he has to. He's got a very cool head too. Picked his punches extremely well tonight and he's improving with every fight.
Great little fighter.

I'm not trying to kiss Brit ass or anything but I cannot recall ever seeing a shitty card. In fact the domestic cards in Britain usually make whatever ppv is on week in and week out look like shit. The atmosphere, the fighters, the announcers, the whole gig be it in Scotland, Ireland, England or Wales.

Martinez made him work hard for that win, Frampton needs more fight's that was his 16th it was
a good win he got hit to much for my liking, you can't hope to beat Donaire if you can't slip punches.
I like Carl Frampton but don't move to fast to face, some excellent Super Bantam Champions,
Carl is a good fighter, but I would not over match him at this point in his career.

I agree. He definitely needs to tighten up his defence and I fully expect that he will.
The great thing about Frampton is his versatility. He always fights the right fight to beat the guy in front of him. Against Molitor he just jumped on him, applied constant pressure and overwhelmed him. Tonight he took his time, boxed on the back foot and picked his punches.
He's a lot smarter than people give him credit for in my opinion, but as you say, they shouldn't rush him.

Trust me, we get some really shitty cards over here sometimes.
I personally can't stand the guy doing the announcing tonight. Michael Buffer he ain't!

This fight would have taught Carl an awful lot. They can now review the tape and evaluate keeping in mind that Martinez was a swarmer looking for the one game changing shot. That ring had to be a twenty four footer. Lucky for him in hindsight that it was not 18 or 20. He deserves big props for that finish as KIKO has never been stopped. In addition that was a huge step up in class compared to what most 15 and 0 fighters take these days.
