Am I tripping balls ??? Didn't Mundine, the cunt that he may be, get screwed by the same promotion...is he officially in the offices of promotion? Fenech didn't even mention them. On paper, in legalees I get the contract. Mosley walking away with another legends money for waiting in a hotel and eating bad airplane food with a clear concious, I don't get.

The balance of the million dollar purse paid in full two days before the bell rings.
A guarantee given and then refused even though they already in good faith paid half up front.
He goes home with 400 k in his pocket for doing sweet F all.
To me that's a scum bag.
Shane was going to walk away ages ago because there was loads of evidence the fight was in trouble, ticket sales etc. So they paid him the 300K up front and he arranged to have the rest paid before the fight. The other people agreed to that , then failed to keep their side of the agreement. There was zero chance he was going to get paid after the fight so he went home. What's the problem?
Also, he's had a training camp for this fight and has taken a bunch of people over there with him. He's obviously spent lots of money getting ready for the fight. It'll be in the contract that he's reimbursed for that too. Shane isn't the problem here unless you think he should fight for 30% of the amount he agreed to and then hope somehow he gets the rest after the fight.
Mundines venues make the money looking at past events on ppv. He draws huge for whatever reason. The problem with your opening premise is that it even makes look like more of a scum bag for taking the money off Fenech.
This Mundine fight wasn't making any money. It wasn't drawing flies. Mosley was promised 100K expenses and all his money before the fight. When he didn't get paid he's entitled to walk away. Nobody even knew Fenech put the money up till he went public about it. He's involved in the promotion in some way and having a beef with the main promoter. All Mosley knew is that the first payment went into his bank account.

Mosley is ready to fight. He's a much better attraction to fight Ortiz than the guy originally pencilled in to fight him. GBP are trying to sell a PPV. It's a no brainer for all parties.

I get covering expenses and time but I cannot see how they failed to get wind, a hint, an idea or feel that it was all in trouble and don't buy Mosley was shocked or caught blind. They knew it was faultering and just smells strung out for the guarantee. Knowing Fenech did a solid and made an attempt to ensure the general interest of all were meant and the match saved but gets to watch Mosley cash his check just doesn't sit well. Mosley pulled off the impossible and managed to do even less than he did in the Canelo or Pac fights and still pulls a payday. Brilliant! I feel like high fiving him and reading his tips but only by flashlight and taking a bleach shower afterwards. He may be over the hill, and he is, but he has options..still. Fenech got played like a sucker!
He's going to Australia to fight Mundine because he got offered a million dollars. His next fight on a PPV undercard he'll be lucky to get 10% of that. That's why he went to Australia.

Call me cynical, but I cannot swallow that GBP and Mosley entered into that fragile agreement thinking it was more likely to take flight than fail. I think it was played out for pay grab. His next fight shouldn't even be on a PPV at this point but he made 10% + of that for doing absolutly nothing.

He didn't do absolutely nothing. He signed for a fight in Australia. By doing that he gave up domestic opportunities for him to make money. Professional boxers have relatively short careers and the chunk of career he spent getting ready for a fight that was cancelled could have been used getting ready for another fight.
I've seen pictures of Mosley leaving Australia with Sergio Mora. I'm sure Mora wasn't sparring with Mosley for free or paying his own way to Australia. Mosley's trainer and corner people won't have been paying their own way either. Shane is paying out for all that so it's only right he gets his expenses covered as per what was in the original contract.
Mosley got what he's contractually owed. He had a contract of employment and he only asked for the terms of that contract to be adhered to. I'm guessing that everybody here who has or has had an employment contract would on the whole like their employment contract to be respected in the case of any dispute between them and their employer. Why should Mosley be any different?
And something I forgot to mention yesterday. Fenech. Fenech did not put up the 300K because he was desperate to see the fight or he's a massive fan of boxing. He obviously had some involvement in the promotion. He may well have been fucked over and conned by the main promoter, he's lost most of his money in various deals in the past if I remember correctly, but the fact he lost out again isn't Mosley's fault.
Re: Anthony Mundine vs. Shane Mosley in talks for August/September fight in Australia
Mosley did not do shit wrong they did not have his money that is not his fault i am just glad he got some cash and hope he can make enough to retire. I don't want him to go the road of a Jones or Holyfeild but i think Holyfeild retired for good this time well at least i hope he did because he is like 50.

Unfortunately Shane will carry on.
