Re: SKY SPORTS 1 HD - REES v CROLLA Saturday Night Fight Chat
Pretty even through 10. Either mans fight.
Re: SKY SPORTS 1 HD - REES v CROLLA Saturday Night Fight Chat
The well is dry, what the fuck he just won the round and for me effectively sealed himself at least a draw...wtf???

I'm wondering if it's just me because I'm a Rees fan. I've got them swapping rounds since halfway, with everything on the laatr two rounds.
nope not just you the commentators drank the cool aid the first minute of round 11 crolla literally had landed nothing, they called him the boss, he did take the round eventually but when they said nothing had landed
Re: SKY SPORTS 1 HD - REES v CROLLA Saturday Night Fight Chat
Listening to the Sky commentators, you would think Crolla is walking this.
I gave Rees most of the early rounds and he's definitely picked up a couple of the later ones. This is close... or it should be.
Re: SKY SPORTS 1 HD - REES v CROLLA Saturday Night Fight Chat
Rees 7-5, or a draw im not sure what fucking fight the commentators are watching where crolla apparently teared rees a new asshole. Punches landed on gloves are better than no punches thrown, which crolla did a lot of...
Re: SKY SPORTS 1 HD - REES v CROLLA Saturday Night Fight Chat
I would really like to see the punch stats for this.
Crolla seemed to throw very little in a lot of the rounds and I have no idea how Sky had him winning by 5 rounds!
Re: SKY SPORTS 1 HD - REES v CROLLA Saturday Night Fight Chat
I think Crolla did just enough to win the fight ...However he needs to step it up to get further in the division.
Re: SKY SPORTS 1 HD - REES v CROLLA Saturday Night Fight Chat
I think the main decision that has been agreed tonight is that the Sky commentary was a shambles. Those two head clashes that cut up Rees didn't help either.

Sky seemed to be predicting the end of Rees' career from very early on in the fight, as if it was written in the stars.
I actually had it a draw or by a single round either way.
One thing I do know is that Crolla won't last too long with Burns if that fight happens.
Re: SKY SPORTS 1 HD - REES v CROLLA Saturday Night Fight Chat
I thought Crolla won it, but at times Sky made it sound like Rees was getting the crap beaten out of him. I predicted Crolla would win this a few months ago, he is massively underrated and is really good at slipping in and out.
Not sure he deserves the Burns fight, but I've never thought Burns was 'all that' so I wouldn't exactly be stunned if Crolla beat him.
As for Sky, they're shit at commentary.Jim Watt is particularly awful and I'm not looking forward to him later on. Saying that, Sky have a guy called Nick Halling, and his commentary on the Mattheysse fight and the Stevenson-Dawson fight was some of the best I've ever heard. The guy just replicates the excitement you feel watching Martin Tyler do football. You've got to have the passion for it and this is something Adam Smith, Jim Watt, Glenn McCrory and Johnny Nelson do not convey.

I also think Ian Darke is very good. But my god the rest are a disgrace.
I actually had crolla winning 8-4. I left my scorecard in work but I think I gave 2,3,6 and 7 to Rees and the rest to Crolla but plenty of close rounds in there. Rees tired terribly so hard to give him the late rounds.
Re: SKY SPORTS 1 HD - REES v CROLLA Saturday Night Fight Chat
I like Nick Halling, he seems to get many of the lesser known sports that happen over in the US, in fact he's commentating on Golovkin v Macklin and the undercard right now. He used to be on the NFL coverage for Sky Sports, and was always a bit more fun than the dry guys they've replaced him with.
Re: SKY SPORTS 1 HD - REES v CROLLA Saturday Night Fight Chat
how did you all score the fight??, i have collected 2 scores from this thread but are looking for more so i can add them to my fightscorecollector site
i had crolla nicking it 115-113

Ian Darke is my favourite boxing commentator. He really does know his stuff and brings a whole lot of excitement and enthusiasm to his commentary.
Jim Watt is by far the worst commentator out there. He is just awful and seems to spend half his time slagging fighters off and has a really sneering, nasty feel about him.

Its too hard to know. I believe Frampton hits harder then Quigg and I dont think Quigg has a great chin. Quigg is probably faster and has better shot selections.
Quigg has had 10 fights more then Frampton so I fully expect Frampton to be ahead of where Quigg is now after he has 26 fights.
The super bantomweight division in Britain is awesome at the minute with Frampton, Quigg and Galahad all looking class. Also expect Kal Yafai to come into the division at some stage as well as Jaime Mc Donnell.

I still think Frampton has more strings to his bow and can adapt his style to suit his opponent. He also hits harder than Quigg and I'm not particularly convinced by Quigg's chin. Frampton is a more complete fighter and that will tell if and when they meet. I'd go for Frampton by KO.
Agree about Crolla. He got a flattering result last night and has already lost to some distinctly ordinary fighters. Burns would easily beat him.

Who has Quigg actually beaten? Last night he beat a fat bloke no one has ever heard of and his best win was against a shot Rendell Monroe.

The exact same thing can be said about Carl. Can easily argue Kiki was shot and Molitor was certainly shot. His next fight is against a fighter just as bad as Quiggs opponent last night.
Im completely on the fence who is better.

Maybe not but he came back after the Quigg defeat and won by KO. I am not saying Frampton may not end up being world class, I just think that Quigg is further along on that journey and seems much hungrier to learn. Better all round but that is just my opinion.
Yea but as I said, Quigg has had 10 more fights. I wouldnt be surprised if Frampton is a world champ by the time he has 26 fights
