It's a natural fight that's probably on the horizon with both guys fighting on NBC.

After he beats jennings, he's got to be crowned as the saviour of the current american HW boxing.

I am a wilder fan so I think he could take that crown

But Jennings and hardcore r both a little older then fighting each other on NBC sports would be huge.

Maybe the winner can fight the winner of maybe a Arreola vs wilder fight or fury vs wilder then fight Stiverne for the WBC belt.

That's also a plausible scenario, it's true. Jennings has not been chin checked yet though so I would like this fight too.

Agreed. Jennings has been in a couple of dust ups and his body was pounded last out with no signs of give. He would do a number on Mansour with combinations and have him seriously short circuited with accuracy. Nothing but respect for Mansours trails & tribulations, but dude has reached his ceiling.

Mansour gets wrecked sooner rather than later ;)

Amir Mansour fought decently enough and Kelvin Price is big enough to give Amir a taste of what a top contender who is that big could do, but Price isn't the kind of boxer who is technically gifted or all that powerful. What we saw in the fight was a guy who couldn't move very well and who gave up his height, reach, and balance in order to try and land something get beat by a more sturdy fighter who was swinging wildly. And there are plenty of pros and cons to take from the fight for both fighters. Price showed a decent enough chin, he caught Mansour a few times without lunging in or falling in, but mainly he would bring his body behind his punches and it made him easier to hit. Mansour attacked well enough, but after a while he stopped moving his head, he did NOT look physically impressive in regards to how he handled Price's size, and Price gave him plenty of open windows to sink some big time power punches through and though he took advantage of those a few times I was not impressed with Mansour's power, nor his handspeed, but he kept at it and eventually wore Price down which tells me he's not as explosive of a power puncher as we have been lead to believe. Also I noticed Mansour slowed greatly as the fight wore on....He's attempting to be a pressure fighter and he's 20 years too late for that bus, as a slugger he's ok, but if he had his power but used defense better MAYBE he'd have a shot but he's not going much farther up the ladder without a loss that's just a FACT.

Jennings beats him, Wilder beats him, David Price beats him, Tyson Fury beats him.

I'm thinking Jonathan Banks and Seth Mitchell would be very difficult for Amir. He might could have a brawl with Chisora but I wouldn't expect him to win.

Andy Ruiz Jr should fight Mansour next

I think Jennings was a bit too loose vs Tupou, but after the knockdown he turned it on and finished with class. Tupou has some pop too. I think Jennings has grown since then a bit but when we start thinking about Jennings vs Mansour I think the major problems for Mansour would be Jennings' reach, his athletic ability, his punches are delivered quickly and straight, and he's got very good footwork. Mansour is kind of a poor man's post prison Tyson, his footwork gives him a good solid base for power, but he's a little plodding in his movement. Amir's best punches are his right hook and left cross...the hook is a bit loopy and lands behind the head/doesn't land clean but his left cross is a good punch but it's something a guy who is not leaning in and circling the wrong way can easily avoid. His head movement wanes after a few rounds as is typical for a pressure fighter and he's trying to be a pressure fighter which he has done a great job of thus far but here's what will happen to him: He'll get horribly outboxed (Jennings), he'll meet a stronger tougher pressure fighter(Ruiz Jr), or he'll catch a huge shot and be absolutely shattered to bits (Wilder).

Mansour might could have done something at age 23, but pressure fighters have a time limit...tick'tock, tick'tock, he's 41 and soon to be a pumpkin

U think Wilder beats Mansour?

For the style of fighting Mansour does age is extremely relevant. I've said it time and time again, pressure fighters don't age well, age 27 is about the peak. Luckily for Mansour he has some pop, he's kept himself in top shape, and he's fought the right opponents.

I think Deontay Wilder would obliterate Mansour. Kelvin Price landed clean with some right hands, he didn't punch much on them but he touched Amir with them and if that's someone who throws with menace like Wilder then it's goodnight sweetheart.

If Mansour wishes to continue his ascent and wants to get a title shot (which is unlikely IMO) here's my path for him: Fres Oquendo, Dereck Chisora, and Tyson Fury. Win those 3 fights and you've got a title shot...heck win 2 of them and someone will probably lose an upset bout and he'd get a title shot by default. But the key for Mansour is to fight guys who can't take his punches, can't deliver huge punishment in return, and won't be able to keep moving away from him. Guys Mansour should avoid: Wilder, Jennings, Ruiz Jr, Arreola, Stiverne, Pulev, Haye. Dynamic fighters with power, speed, OR a rock solid chin and heavy hands.

Mansour needs to take the next step now. It is already too late, but if he's going to have a prayer of landing a big money fight at heavyweight, he needs to take a risky fight against a blue chip prospect or against a tough-nosed veteran.

I'm not sure how much we can trust Jennings' chin, and same with Ruiz Jr., and Mansour appears pretty durable. I agree with Lyle, a Ruiz Jr. fight is just what the doctor ordered for Mansour. It's risky, but if he wins it, he's in the spot light.

@Rantcatrat I think you misunderstood me. I was saying that guys like Jennings and Ruiz Jr were horrible style matchups for Mansour because Jennings is very athletic and WILL stick and move for 10 rounds and who knows if Mansour can move fast enough or cut the ring down well enough to catch him? And Ruiz Jr. is big and heavy handed...I don't think a 41 year old who is that small needs to try and meet a youngster like that head on.


If Mansour wants an immediate title fight then he should go fight Tyson Fury. Fury wants a "bum of the month club" well Mansour should step it up and take the challenge. Fury is a peach of an opponent because he fights stupidly. Mansour can pour the pressure on him, land big, connect, and honestly I don't think Fury could take much power. I mean if Steve Cunningham puts you on your ass when you weren't already off balance then you're going to get super fucked up when someone with power hits you.
