Re: Fury is going to shock us against Haye!
No...
As I said it was down to the ineptitude of the opponents. chisora landed plenty because he wasnt an old man!
If Fury had fought that list of opponents h and even had the same results, that would be picked apart. For some reason Haye gets priase for potential.
-
Re: Fury is going to shock us against Haye!
Well if it doesn't show Haye has a good defence maybe it shows he has a strong chin? Fury has been down more than Haye at heavyweight?

Yeah, by people who weigh over 200lb
Is it more of an acheivment to get knocked over by smaller people?;D

you cant be about to tell me fury has shown a better defence than haye?

Re: Fury is going to shock us against Haye!
Go on Ross! Fuckin' tell em all.
Cunts. ;D
No seriously - It's one of those fights where both guys could easily loose because they're are so flawed. Haye IMO can be very effective with his head movement (at times he was evading Wlad at point blank range, check the head-movement before he drops Ruiz etc.) but it's far from conventional and must be exploited by someone with the size and absurd reach of Fury. Then again, he is no better! ;D
Anyway, I'm still trying to work out who Carl Williams is supposed to be? ;D ;D

Considering the class Haye has fought in compared with Fury, you have to say Haye has the stronger chin. Fact.

yeah but to sum up, he has fought better fighters since moving up to heavy and hasn't been down from a punch apart from a very dubious knock down against barrett so he either has a better defence or a better chin
but if he hasn't then what is the conclusion? ross?

Carl "The Truth" Williams came our of retirement. hehehehehe....
But, seriously: The biggest puncher Haye has been in with IS Carl THOMPSON and Wlad. With Thompson he was stopped cold and against Wlad, he got hit a few times and ran the entire fight.
Fury isn't a very hard and spark-like puncher. But I don't see Haye landing the way he needs to to end the fight.
Haye's power is good, but it isn't THAT good. Haye can smack a guy, but they all get back up. I have never seen him spark a guy out cold- Haye doesn't have that much power.
I feel Fury has the presence of mind to stick around even when he gets hit.
But, when he gets hit (Fury), Haye has to jump on him and hit him again- may get a 3 knockdown rule.

A cruiser weight that gets splattered by a super middleweight with only 12 kos from 31 wins (6 from 21 at the time they fought which is why he was chosen) does not have a good heavyweight chin:rolleyes:

But can we say a Tommy Hearns at WW sparks anyone? Some times it isn't the size, it's the velocity behind the punch. Few people had it- Tommy Hearns, Ernie Shavers, Mike Tyson, Deontay Wilder, Julian Jackson and Rocky Marciano had it- and would have it at any weight once they kept their form and mechanics.
So a blown up MW can spark a HW. It can happen!

Re: Fury is going to shock us against Haye!
If we are to believe that Fury is a puncher at HW with a less than solid chin , then everybody is over looking the chance of Fury upper cutting himself and losing by KO.
-
Re: Fury is going to shock us against Haye!
I hope Fury wins because the big goofy fuck is starting to grow on me.
But I think Haye will whip him.

Did you see the mess Haye was in the Mock fight? It wasnt just a BANG got caught went down got back up and carried on fighting. He went down a few times and took Mock down with him!
Thomas Hearns is a puncher. Mock is not. 6 Kos from 22 fights?;D:rolleyes:

Apart from Barrett.
Who has Haye beaten at heavyweight that was ever regarded as a banger on the world scene?;D
You can dress up statistics all you want but the reality is Hayes heavyweight opponents have been chosen for the sole purpose of getting to Wlad. He was always banging on about the Sanders fight and thought he could replicate that with his speed. He was wrong and this fight is a retirement fund.

we aren't talking about who haye has beaten at HW, we can have that conversation in a bit if you want
we were talking about haye having a rubbish defence and/or a rubbish chin
so far in this thread you have said he has both
so does he have a rubbish chin and a rubbish defence? or is it one or the other?

Re: Fury is going to shock us against Haye!
It’s possible. There are a few examples of a lumbering oaf beating the much more athletic fighter.
Willard did beat Johnson
Carnera did beat Loughran
And
Frankenstein did deliver a ko blow to the quicker Dracula drifting him into the fireplace via the opening salvo in Van Helsing which turned out to be a kd..

For fuck sake your going round in circles:p
Hayes defence at any weight consist of moving away. He cannot stand in punching range which is why he moves in and out. Also, his chin isn't great either. Getting knocked down at cruiser by a soft punching super middle proves that.
His saving grace is quite similar to that of Jones JR years ago. The guys they fought were intimidated by the speed and as someone has mentioned he's not sparked anyone. Its the speed. Fighters are too concerned to open up properly against him but thats alot down to the fighters he has picked. Other than Valuev and Wlad were the others in the top ten? I doubt they were in the top 20;D
He COULD have fought his contemporaries to prove something, like Cunningham, Arreola, Adamek etc but like I said the chose the route of least resistance to Wlad as him and Booth were certain that Haye could do a Sanders on Wlad.
Hayes chin and defence will be on display for all to see against the feather fisted, useless, fat idiot that punches himself. Fury is like the perfect opponent for Haye to shine. If he doesn't, im right and have been all along;)
-
Re: Fury is going to shock us against Haye!
Monte Barrett himself put in black and white that in regards to Wald and Haye's Power he said ''Their power is comparable''.
The other thing he said, which I don't yet understand (maybe it's a nonsense?) is that ''He changes his size a lot''. :-\

ha, flippin nora
so, by rubbish defence you mean you don't like his defence rather than it isn't effective?
-
Re: Fury is going to shock us against Haye!
It wasnt effective against Wlad, he lost.
Also, the plodding Valuev caught him enough to deserve the win in their fight.

It was the manner of the loss. Losing every round by running or when Wlad caught up, falling over, lets not forget that new part pf Hayes arsenal;)

Ross has a hard on for Fury and hates Haye so there is no point of taking his opinion on the fight because he is too emotionally invested.
Haye defense at heavyweight is good. It allows him to not get caught cleanly. His chin is questionable.
Furys defense is poor. He is easily hit and has shown that in all his fights thus far. His chin also looks very suspect since he has been floored often too. But he has always got up and continued to win so he has heart and reasonable recovery ability.
I have said the deciding factor in this fight is power. Haye has a lot of it. If Haye lands clean, which it is highly likely that he will, Fury will not get back up, and if he does Haye will finish him because he is good at finishing fights.
These are clear from watching both fighters. I hate them both. Haye is a complete cunt and has damaged the reputation of boxing with his PPV v Audley and his performance against Wlad. These were big fights for the casual/only watches big fights fans and these fights were shite. Haye could have made these fights more interesting by KOing Audley in the 1st like he should have instead of not throwing a punch for 3 rounds and by going for it against Wlad even if it meant getting KOed himself. Fury is also a prick. He shows no respect to fighters (i dont mind this when hes fighting them but he should show some sort of respect to retired fighters). He also talks far too much shite

Even Jhn Ruiz caught him plenty. Watch their fight. Haye drops him in the first 30 seonds and isnt a big enough puncher to finish him ;D then late in the same round Ruiz smashes Haye in to the ropes. Ruiz also caught him plenty with the jab.

Your just supporting what I said about you by continueing your dribble. He barely had a glove laid on him by both Wlad and Valuev. And Wlad is a far more accurate puncher then Fury

Fury reversed that with a KO win. Haye has done nothing to reverse his losses;)

As I said no point arguing with you about this cz u are too emotionally invested. My point was that Haye was not tagged by Wlad, the best heavyweight in the world. Therefore his defence must be ok. You say because he was hit by Ruiz his defence is shit.
I'm probably one of the few who actually think you know a bit about boxing but you are far too blinded by emotions in this fight.

Oh Haye felt the weight of a few of Wlads shots which is why he spent half the fight on all fours.

Were as if Fury had taken Wlads shots he wouldn't be on all fours he would be looking at the ring lights.

I wont advocate hayes performance against wlad but I would argue he spent half his time on all 4s because of the leaning rather that the punching

Thats why the ref warned Haye in the end? Did he get a point deducted?
When Chambers fought Wlad and Wlad tried the leaning stuff, Chembers lifted him up in the air and threw him down a couple of times and the ref warned Wlad for leaning not Chambers for wrestling. So you cant say the refs are biased for Wlad.

ha, no you could never say that
;D
anyway like we have already discovered, haye has a weak chin and a rubbish defence
a weak chin as shown from a fight early in his career against a super middleweight and a rubbish defence as shown from the wlad fight, absolutely conclusive evidence
both very solid and extremely valid arguments
well done @ross, you really are the knowledge of boxing
