Mayweather is smoke and mirrors in terms of opposition and it isn't a crime to say as much. He is seemingly an impeccable boxer, so it is just a shame that he is so obsessed with the money and the 0, to ever put it completely on the line.
People then say, well what do you suggest? My answer to that is simple. I want to see him against someone with heart, with skills, with speed. Currently it is plodder after plodder and carefully, carefully chosen. Bradley, Pacquiao, or Golovkin at 154, are obvious fights to make.
Miles, you realize you're about the only type of person "bound to criticize" the guys he has been fighting. Bradley at 147, you actually think thats a bigger challenge than Canelo was? I'm sure you wouldn't have personally made any mention of the fact Bradley was clobbered all over the ring by an average fighter last time out, if Floyd had signed to fight him instead, right? Or the fact that we last saw Pacquiao getting peeled off the canvas, what does that matter right.
You don't like Mayweather and that's fine, neither do I. But is it really so difficult to be objective about anything?
I Think anyone who loves the sport wants to see him seriously tested before he retires, there are fighters who would test him but will he chose to fight them in his remaining fights?
I doubt it after reading this...
I said when last weeks fight was made that Canelo was just Hype and would be easily beaten and he was, its a Shame because Mayweather could go down as one of the greatest ever if he decides to give the public what they really wanna see
Y! SPORTS

Just cannot agree with you, Sir, would you really call Cotto, Oscar, Mosley, Guerrero, Canelo, Marquez, Hatton or Judah plodders? Floyd may have made them look like they are plodders but every body else they fight thinks they're pretty damn good.
I'm getting pissed, I don't even like Floyd but I find myself defending him because he makes everyone else look bad. Not really pissed, just a little irritated.
Judah is not a plodder, but he is not an aggressive fighter either. Hatton is not a plodder and gave Floyd a great fight. Oscar is an allround boxer, he did okay too. However, the rest are largely plodders and I include Marquez in that too as he looked like a plodder at the weight being far too small. Also you are missing many other fights at 140 and up. Baldomir was king plodder.

Picky, picky, picky you are the pickiest!
Re: So why is Floyd allowed to hand pick his opponents? Fair..?
I think the people pick his opponents for him, whoever we think might beat him, he fights. How can he get away with this? everyone makes a huge payday when they fight Floyd plus he keeps kicking the shit out of our choices.
We don't seem to learn and immediately start hyping his next victim. It's funny in a way, we do most of the work for him, all he does is train, fight, give us the finger and collect the money.
The good news is that, if he keeps fighting long enough he will lose. Won't he? LOL

I think it would be fun all the way and not just few rounds , when was the last time we saw Floyd more than matched for speed ;-)
Khan would definitely pose problems and Floyd would have to work every second of every round.
Floyd hardly had to get out of 2nd gear against Canelo and was puffing away between the latter rounds so his age could be a huge factor against someone like Khan.
Not suggesting Khan would win but for me its a very very tough night for Floyd ;-)
All Khan matches him with is speed though. He doesn't have a clue how to box on that level otherwise, and if he did he wouldn't get knocked senseless every other time out. If Khan truly were competitive past the midway point Floyd would just go on the attack and get him out of there, we are talking about one of the only world class fighters Floyd could easily hurt. It's not even a fight imo.

Yeah thats what i said above ;) , maybe Floyd would stop him but what i do know is Khan would test him and def go after him, Khan would force him to fight at a fierce pace and would bring the best out of him.
This is a fight that will happen and your crazy if you think Khan wont make this a real fight and will just go away, he doesnt, he pressures with speed non stop and that is is biggest downfall ... the boy loves a tear up too much but is always always exciting to watch
Re: So why is Floyd allowed to hand pick his opponents? Fair..?
Floyd Mayweather is the best boxer that ever lived.
Hand picks his opponents ? Are you serious ?
It just annoys people that he beats very good fighters easy. The problem I see with Mayweather is that people want to see him get KNOCKED OUT. The problem is he beats those heavy handed guys like guys like Canelo, Diego Corrales, Gatti even easier.
People don't to see him in against a Devon Alexander but they are the type of fighters who will cause him problems. An Amir Khan type, someone with youth, speed and fast footwork, now as I say I don't think there is any fighter that I have seen who would beat Mayweather. The guy has not even had a close fighter.
People talk about Golovokin. He has not done anything. Lets see him up aganist Canelo, Martinez and Chavez Jnr. He could even move up to fight Andre Ward but Ward will run him out the ring.

Just remember that khan has a glass jaw.
I think that's overblown a bit. He took some bombs from Maidana. Khans problem is getting caught out of position.

My main point was that guys like you are criticizing Floyd for being Floyd. Why should he be like you want him to be?
Pro boxing is business. Now are no longer old days when pay cheks were not that high. At that time, pro boxing was like some advanced in skills, but regular, job. This is why I believe the overall quality was better. Now this business is done with different principles, Floyd shares his responsibility for that, no doubt, but he is definitely not the only one to be blamed.
To sum up, you want a change - go for the root of the problem, not attack the branches. Does this make sense?
Well said NVSemin
Haha, hopefully people won't think this is my clone account :)
Lets do a blind test: what are your religious views, son?

Sugar Ray Robinson, Mahamed Ali
I would have Leonard higher than Floyd, maybe Duran and Hearns.

I am sure you look for different things in boxing
p4p list from the perspective who nails who in 15 rounds would be probably closer to yours
I have feeling when people are making their lists, they are biased towards who they like to watch
I personally do not fight like SRR or Ali because of my body type and weight, this is why I am always baised towards Duran, Tyson, Whitaker and such guys

George Benton would break Floyd apart with Floyd's own tools
