Does anybody need anymore fucking proof!!!! 8 rounds to 2. Somebody just close the fucking curtain.
As if Chavez couldn't have done worse for himself tonight.... This is disgraceful.
my hand my hand.....im a punto....my hand
Chavez will never give him a rematch
Boxing is like being in a abusive relationship, over and over and over. The outrage has finally outrun the vocabulary!
I would say I can't believe it, except me and everyone else in the world expected it. I say put the guy in with Ward or Froch and let's get this farce over with.
Forget Ward or Froch, he'll clearly never take on anyone like that. Put the clown in with a Sakio Bika and he'd still lose every round. I'd hope for a rematch of tonights fight just so Vera can get a nice payday that he deserves again, not to mention he could probably make better adjustments and maybe even get a decision.
Chavez jnr is a fucking joke and the decision was a complete ROBBERY, ROBBERY, ROBBERY!
I score the fight 8-2 to Vera. Vera outlanded Chavez by miles, and Chavez just didn't do anything. The judges are disgusting and need to be banned from the sport. If I were to just randomly grade the tests of my students, it would cause an uproar and out of a job if I do. However, in boxing, nobody is held to account. One of them had Chavez up by 6 points? And all of them had Chavez winning. Nobody on here had it even close, let alone Chavez actually winning.
Just absolutely sickening. Poor Brian Vera did everything he had to do, he should be looking to get a bigger fight and instead cry baby Chavez has the win.
did anyone listen to the post fight commentary? I fuckin tune out usually after robberies
It really is so appalling, but all you can really wish upon the powers of boxing is what has already happened. The idea that this kind of bullshit doesn't deter new fans is as off base as the decision tonight was. The fact that half of the real fans still put stock in these judges is just as disturbing. You could easily pay half the members of this forum 5 dollars to judge it from their computer and clean up the sport, and yet we are supposed to respect these fucking pieces of excrement making a decent living to screw hardworking athletes on a weekly basis.
I turned lapdog and duff man off early in the fight. Had no interest in Jr's post fight comments.
yup,jr said that Vera had the ref in his pocket and that he could have Ko'd him at any point, and pretty much that Vera was done in the 10th :-\:-X, he was done in the 10th cause he banked 8 rounds including the 10th lol, fuckin jerkoff Chavez needs to just go back and hide somewhere smoking something stronger than pot if he thinks he won the fight
vera had the ref in his pocket??? seriously dude has the audacity to accuse someone of having anyone in their pocket???? wow what a joke man, as i said in another post i doont understand why he has such a big following, even if he has his fathers name theres plenty of other mexicans to root for....wow thank god i tuned out i dont need my bloodpressure skyrocketing
also hbo kept saying the harder shots....well fuckin chavez face didnt look like it was getting hit by soft punches ....ah fuck it
Bob Sheridan might as well be on commentary on HBO, he can't call a fight to save his life yet he's always on somewhere calling punches that don't land, calling great lefts when the punch that lands was a right, he'll fit right in with Lampley
I think they should put Jim Lampley in a room with Teddy Atlas, alone, to discuss some of HBO's recent decisions. That would be guaranteed not to disappoint .
Only in America! That is the US.
I thought Chavez would steal an sd. I joked about him winning a ud. The 8/2 card is actually worse then Cj Ross's even card in the Floyd fight.
Lampley and HBO didn't feel all that sorry for Vera, despite their best efforts to convince us otherwise. Jim signed off with a shit eating grin on his face.
Hell yes, great post.
Better idea though, give Bryan Vera Chavez Jr. money. He fucking deserves it. Hes going to get fucked for this. He won't get re matched, he will just be an opponent again (which he is for the top tier), and Chavez will make 6 figures more than he should for a big fight because he'll be on some sort of "winning" streak going into fight with Ward/Froch/stevenson. That money should go to Vera because he won it tonight.
I can't believe Vera didn't win that fight. He outworked Chavez from the first bell to the last.
Vera will not get the credit he deserves, everybody will be saying he won because Chavez didn't train properly.
The judging was terrible, I'm beginning to think the judges shouldn't set ringside. Put them in separate booths away from the crowd.
Lou Motet had a real bad night, he was not calling fouls. Vera was hitting low all night--don't try to tell me I didn't see a bunch of illegal low blows by Vera--and he didn't call Chavez for pushing Vera with his left arm. It's called boxing not forearming, shouldering or elbowing.
The crap refereeing was making me wonder what the judges were seeing, the low blows or the forearming. I think they were seeing the low blows since Chavez was protesting every one.
I have a theory that judges, consciously or unconsciously, try to correct a judges bad refereeing with their scoring.
I could be wrong, maybe Chavez really did win that fight and my 57 years of watching fights was a waste of time because I didn't learn a damn thing.
some of the shots strayed low, but when Jr started crying like the bitch he is, he was getting hit right on the belt line, and Chavez kept complaining about headbutts and what not when he's the one that comes in hunched over leading with his head, either way when you're weighing 190 lbs against a guy who's a career long jr middleweight you lose all rights to complain about anything, Jr is as delusional as his fans, claiming he almost KO'd Vera at 3 points in the fight and that he had him finished in the 10th, he was nowhere close to winning the fight at any point including after the final bell rang
Make no mistake: Junior is the definition of a coddled boxer. And I thought he lost the fight last night by one round. However, I don't think a 96-94 score for Junior is a bad score. 8-2 is a poor. I thought there were definitely some rounds that could have gone either way though. What this fight taught us about Junior is that he's at the level of Vera. His team should cash out with a big fight against Ward or Froch because he'll never be a world-beater.
Vera fought a bit dirty, but in his own way, Junior did too in that he came in at 173 when the fight should have been at 168.
chavez lost, and made himself look like an ass even more by saying "I dont need to fight him again." a truly douchebag move when he had lost the fight. props to vera for trying so hard and for having an iron jaw!!! some of those chavez shots were very hard.....
