Thinking the days, if they existed, of 'earning' a shot are gone. All you have to do is make headlines with a winning record or apparently earn it in the amatuers. Or know Bob Arum. Take your pick

He showed speed and power. He has that good arrogance where he knows he belongs. He's gonna make a lot of noise in the pros.

You shouldn't get a shot until you have beaten some ranked opponents, in saying that he looked decent. Just a solid fighter.
