I'm not sure fat Mick will risk Thompson for what amounts to very little interest and money.
Tysons plan was to get the small end of a massive purse fighting Haye, then pick up one or two fights with Chis & co. domestically, then retire and make way for Hughie.
The only money plan Tyson has got now is to get Fat Mick to negotiate with Dodgy Frank and fight Chis, by no means a foregone conclusion. If he beats Chis again, all well and good, he can then make Klit overtures but fat Mick will definitely keep him away from Wilder, poor opponents or not.
Got to hand it to Thompson, he's damn near retired one of our best 'prospects' in David Price and has the man who hid from David Price running scared.
Fury wouldnt have had the trouble Chisora did with Chisoras last few opponents. Chisora has run his course progression wise.
Chisora unlike Fury really has "no fear", can you imagine Tyson Fury lasting 12 rounds with Vitali? Del boy would fight Wilder tommorow, Fury wouldn't. Fury won't fight Thompson because he is too dangerous. After the likes of Haye, Scott and Vitali Chisora would have no such second thoughts and would actually be taking a step back to fight Fury.
A step back?
Fury beat the undefeated Chisora. He gave Chisora his first loss and this was when afury was himself out of shape compared to now and also after only 14 fights not nearly 30 like Haye.
It would be a step back for afury to go over old ground and would prove absolutely nothing. Chisora is getting hurt in every fight now and wont last long.
Why did Klitschko iffer the fight to Chisora rather than the man who beat him?;)
-
Ross you are delusional. A fit Chisora would be Furys toughest test. It would be a near 50:50 fight in my opinion and if I could get 7/4 ish I'd back him. Furys progression hasn't been as good as you think. He looked poor against Cunningham so all your judgement is from one fight against Johnson who judgin from his performance before and after the fight is not anything close to a top fighter.

Re: Thompson wants to fight Fury
Some of u dudes are funny.. those of u who are picking a "fit" chisora over fury are the sames ones who picked an unfit chisora over fury few years back on the saddo league... how u gonna explain that?
Im one of the very few players who picked Fury to beat chisora on the saddoleague..
Fury needs a real fight..

I agree but I wont begrudge him a warm up to get back in the groove. He was getting some good momentum going until Haye butted in.

U are right he needs a tune up fight. But only if he will be active. No point of him having 2 or 3 fights against bums. I'd like an easy fight February. Chisora in April or May and given a victory there then either a title shot or a title eliminator. I picked Chisora to win in the first fight before the weigh in. Then I changed my mind. I don't see how thinking a fit Chisora will cause Fury trouble is silly the level of Furys competition has been low and he hasn't been impressive. Just because someone's fights are entertaining doesn't make him a top fighter. To be fair a fit Fury against a fit Chisora could be a cracking fight.

Like fuck!
At the point he beat Cunningham he had done more than any other heavy in the top ten over the previous year!
He beat a fighter that took Vitali 12 and another who had beaten Huck (who hurt and was unlcky not to get a decision over Povetkin) and was robbed against Adamek who beat up Arreola.

Chisora offered Fury a Shot at the European title in Feb earlier today.
Fury should take it as its the last title he can win ;)

a fight against thompson would drum up a reasonable amount of interest in england wouldnt it?
after all thompson did beat price twice furys big rival
i think it would be a good choice for fury as i think he would handle him quite easily
thomspon is very flattered by the wins over price
-
Re: Thompson wants to fight Fury
I dont see Fury having too much of an issue with Thompson. Thompson's got some decent mileage out of the two Price wins and so have we to be fair, the blokes hilarious. He's decent enough but against someone of Fury's size and strength he'll spend the entire fight not getting knocked out. Easy points win for Fury.

Johnson lost every round 3 years before he fought Fury an had lost to fucking Tor Hamer before that and Christian Hamer since. He is nothin special you complete retard.
Cunningham is a good fighter but his sheer size disadvantage meant he was an easy fight fight for Fury. Haye beating Valuev is better then anything Fury has done. Pulev beating Thompson is better then anything Fury has done. Thompson beating price is better then anything Fury has done. Stiverne beating Arreola is better then anything Fury has done. Perez beating Mago is better then anything Fury has done.

Pulev wouldnt have fought Thompson if Haye hadnt uave offered Fury a fight he had no intention of taking part in. Pulev would have instead have been having a comeback fight. Furys lack of that big name is all down to Haye, not Fury.
As for Hayes "win" over Valuev....:D:rolleyes:;D

If you think Johnson or Cunningham beats Valuev you are mistaken.

None of the above got a gift of a decision against John McDermott. What's your point?
Do you seriously not see how retarded ur logic is? Troy Ross was robbed against Hernandez and Cunningham beat Ross so Cunningham must be better then Hernandez, but Hernandez beat Cunningham twice oh god it's like watching back to the future

Fury didnt have to but he gave Mc Dermott a rematch and knocked him out. Dnt forget that was the english champion and Fury had only been a pro 8 months.
Even Ali had a gift decision before he fought Liston.....

So you admit fury lost to big john in the first fight, as you refer to it as a gift decision like the one Clay got before Liston.
Also only an idiot uses Clay in the same breath as Fury.:vd:

Re: Thompson wants to fight Fury
Did Cassius Clay get a gift decision and get dropped by 2 fighters well under 200lb?
Im not comparing Fury to the greatest I'm saying if someone who turned out to be so great looked so vulnerable before his first title fight, then Fury has at least a chance at a respectable career;)

Youve obviously never drunk here...
Did Clay win a debateable decision? Did he get knocked down badly, almodt stopped and have to cheat by ripping open a glove to buy time between rounds by a 185lb british level journeyman and get dropped by another fighter well below 200lb?
Yes he did;D
That is absolute fact you thick cunt;D these things actually happened!

So it looks like Fury is going to fight Browne rather than Thompson. Definite step down in quality and more of the same from the Fury camp. Avoid anyone relevant or remotely challenging because Tyson hits extremely softly for such a big guy and has no punch resistance.

To be fair to him, he has been knocked off his boxing journey with Haye messing him about, so I think he is entitled to have an easier fight to get back on track.
-
Re: Thompson wants to fight Fury
To be fair although Browne isn't that good , it could be an interesting brawl to watch.
-
Re: Thompson wants to fight Fury
Cnt see how this is happenng or where its come from. Browne has said he has a commonwealth title fight with a Solomon haumono in April.

Re: Thompson wants to fight Fury
Fury-Browne is a much better fight than Fury-Thompson.
Ones a guaranteed punch-up, the other a 12 rounds tactical fiddly fiddly job.

Well, apologies for that, the last time I drunk in Guernsey was the early 70's, when my kids were toddlers, and it was very cheap then. Also looks like I won't be returning any time soon.

I'd honestly never heard of it, just learned a few things. Victor Hugo went into exile there, there is no university on the island and they have just built their first special needs school, for instance. Was it completed in time for you to attend?:D
