Apologies if I'm mistaken but what are u basing this on? I'm pretty sure u said in a previous thread that u hadn't seen much of Loma as an amateur. So if u are basing this on his 1 pro fight that is extremely blind of you. May I remind you Rigo scraped a SD against Cordoba, a guy Bernard dunne stopped and also looked very average against Marriquin.
im assuming that he is basing it on loma never going anywhere close to 12 rounds in the amateurs.

Re: Lomanchenko V Salido - WBO Featherweight title - Alamodome - Texas - 1/3/2014
The kid spars hard with middleweights over 12 rounds regularly and allegedely sends a fair few to the canvas.
I here he's been doing this for years so let's see what happens on Saturday.
I'm betting on a Lomanchenko tko ;D
Even if he loses he wins... Massive exposure on world level and one defeat ain't gonna be such a big deal really.
People will just say oh well it was only his second fight and against a champion.
I think his body shots will seriously fuck Salido up ;)
We shall see.

Re: Lomanchenko V Salido - WBO Featherweight title - Alamodome - Texas - 1/3/2014
This is the fight im looking forward to the most this weekend. Salido is no mug but you just get the feeling the boxing ability of Lomanchenko will be too much for him. Salido needs to pressure because I don't see him outboxing him. But the combinations and bodywork will be the difference in this fight I reckon. Im going for a Lomancheko KO

IF he gets into the later rounds, that's the question. If Loma tags him enough early, he might get him out of there by round 8-10. I agree if this fights get into the championship rounds, Loma might be in for some trouble. It's a heck of an interesting match-up though.

I meant the Rigo better then Loma bit. THe 12 round bit is plausible but Id be very surprised if Loma isnt sparring 20 rounds at a time so doubt he will have any stamina issues.

Re: Lomanchenko V Salido - WBO Featherweight title - Alamodome - Texas - 1/3/2014
This is such an odd fight. Loma doesn't deserve a title shot in his second pro fight and at the same time, why would his people let him take a fight against Salido in his second pro fight. Where does he go from there? Defend his title? Move on to bigger things like the winner of Donaire's next fight? The whole thing is a bit crazy, isn't it?

Theres plenty to go on from beating Salido. To argue he doesnt deserve a shot you can argue that about 100s of people who get shots a year. At the end of the day he wasnt mandatory. Salido got an offer and accepted it. Personally I dont think any fighter should get a title shot coming off a loss unless it was a robbery but this is not the case. All comes down to money

I can give you a basic time. On the East Coast of the US the fight is listed as starting at 9:45p and ends at midnight. I hope that helps somewhat
-
Ok thanks mate ;)
So Salido has lost his belt on the scales, how the fuck can he be so overweight this was made ages ago this fight?
I dont think he even tried to lose it from what Ive been reading! !

Re: Lomanchenko V Salido - WBO Featherweight title - Alamodome - Texas - 1/3/2014
What is it with fighters not making weight, totally unprofessional Salido this seems to be
the norm of late,! hope Lomanchenko gives a boxing lesson.
I am feed up of this trend, why bother having weight divisions this year is starting off, just
like last year finished, to many so called World Champions not making weight.:nono:

That does not me as a good thing, more an early career ending thing. Also he should be sparring with 118lbers for speed and distance work.
As for the fight, Lomanchenko does seem exceptional. That this is a 'world title' fight is probably down more to the ridiculous amount of alphabet organizations, than some sensational achievement.
Do not get me wrong, if Lomanchenko wins he deserves a ton of kudos.
But I remember when it was rumoured De La Hoya was to debut against Hernandez. De La Hoya's management quashed the rumour, rightly pointing out that if a fighter fights 50/50 fights from day one, they will probably have a 50/50 record and potentially have their confidence shattered. And it did not take too long for Oscar to start fighting world class opposition, including a destructive victory over Hernandez.
Rademacher is the only evidence we have of an amateur fighting the best from day one, and Pete never really recovered from losing to THE champ and a leading contender in his first two bouts. I hope Lomanchenko's management have got the best interests of the fighter as their priority...

Think this is gonna be belter of a fight so looking forward to it ;)

That last part doubled. Hope he has someone off the side not afraid to speak truth. Being professional isn't just about no head gear and gloves etc. Its a money pit full of shank carrying shady stiff suits. There is literally no room for a step down, a learning curve or adjustment. Ya can't fight a 'world title' while basically being labeled a sure star already and take lesser opposition. If things go sour we have all seen promoters literally push past fallen fighters and cut bait without a second thought. Only reason Arum is pimping this is for that dreamy trinket that the previous two holders didn't care enough to train to even keep.

Re: Lomanchenko V Salido - WBO Featherweight title - Alamodome - Texas - 1/3/2014
Diaz getting some nice work in. He's looking pretty good in there.
-
There was nothing controversial about the fight, just the decision which was a ridicilous effin robberry. I hope vera can find lightning twice and beat jr again
-
Wow salido is a 147 pds tonight, what the fuckety fuck 20 plus pounds over the actual weight, I mean fuck what's the point in fifty weight classes if nobody follos them,
-
Re: Lomanchenko V Salido - WBO Featherweight title - Alamodome - Texas - 1/3/2014
This is one of my top five most want to see fights just for the fact it's his second pro fight and he's fighting for a title. Lomachenko becomes a star tonight.

Re: Lomanchenko V Salido - WBO Featherweight title - Alamodome - Texas - 1/3/2014

Re: Lomanchenko V Salido - WBO Featherweight title - Alamodome - Texas - 1/3/2014
Not a 1st round for the highlight reel. Salido knows his role here.
-
-
Re: Lomanchenko V Salido - WBO Featherweight title - Alamodome - Texas - 1/3/2014
This is one where you watch the feet and placement. Loma looks a little scattered
-
This might turn bad for loma and takin punches from that big a dude to the body is gona take an effect
-
Re: Lomanchenko V Salido - WBO Featherweight title - Alamodome - Texas - 1/3/2014
2-1 Salido. Loma don't like it in the gut. Then again who does.

Just cant pick a winner in rd one.

Re: Lomanchenko V Salido - WBO Featherweight title - Alamodome - Texas - 1/3/2014
Lomachenko not looking too clever here. He could fall apart in the late rounds.
-
Re: Lomanchenko V Salido - WBO Featherweight title - Alamodome - Texas - 1/3/2014
He needs to set up shop down the middle, bust Salido up, cause Salido is hookin the shit outta his torso. He has happy feet now.
btw Salido looks like a turtle. 3-1 Salido
-
This guy is a hype job!!!
-
Re: Lomanchenko V Salido - WBO Featherweight title - Alamodome - Texas - 1/3/2014
Mikey Garcia looked much better than Loma against Salido.
-
Loma not looking impressive at all here. Salido 4-1
-
[QUOTE=terrorsid;1227274]This guy is a hype job!!![/QU9E]
Nah man a hype job gets flattened in 3 by salido in his second pro fightg, may have just bitten off more than he can chew and still well in this fight, plus he's fighing a welterweight actually
-
Re: Lomanchenko V Salido - WBO Featherweight title - Alamodome - Texas - 1/3/2014
Not trying to be a dick, but Loma does indeed look like an amatuer. There is a distinction. He bulls in and drops guard. Better movement in 5th though
-
Re: Lomanchenko V Salido - WBO Featherweight title - Alamodome - Texas - 1/3/2014
Im not a fan of amateurs getting rushed. They tend to be quite boring. Gotta learn to fight like a pro.
