Porter KO4 . He looked sloppy but he got a great win also Broner in my eyes lost to Paulie and Judah got schooled by him as well. Great win for him earned some respect there
-
Re: Hopkins Showtime card thread
Hope the papa brings the old boy to the old school and adds the WBA strap to his collection.
-
Re: Hopkins Showtime card thread
I thought they were going to kiss there for a minute. Paulie took two huge rights.
-
Broner be wise to never think about goin to 147again
-
Re: Hopkins Showtime card thread
Porter has been Pac's sparring partner for years. You get used to sparring with a beast then u fight a featherfisted guido like Paulie, shit becomes ridiculously easy.

The juice. Just kidding. I actually thought Paulie still had a little left and might make it interesting. I think this showed how far gone he is rather then how good Porter is.
-
Re: Hopkins Showtime card thread
Hopefully if Paulie is this uncertain to announce retire, he has already made the decision. Both class acts here

Alexander didn't have a spoonfed career and only lost to Bradley but Porter beat him more impressively. That impressed me.

Classy interview from porter
-
Re: Hopkins Showtime card thread
What amazed me the most was how Porter landed those lunging left hooks on Paulie. You have to be damn quick to do that. I like how Paulie talked. "Go and be great so I can say I lost to a great champion." Classy in defeat. I think Paulie should hang them up.
-
Re: Hopkins Showtime card thread
Paulie needs to call it quits. His lack of power hurts him against the younger fighters. He just can't keep them off him
-
Re: Hopkins Showtime card thread
He's a nice kid. Seems genuine and humble. Grounded.

Plus paulies chin is probably cracked at this point, and well that was one of his great assets since he has fuck all for power
-
Re: Hopkins Showtime card thread
I bet Kell Brook gets a new injury in the gym next week.
-
Re: Hopkins Showtime card thread
In the last 3 interviews Hopkins is sitting with his legs elevated. Don't recall that before

C'mon... Quillin's entertaining, bro. If only because he's got that huge power, but is vulnerable at the same time. People just want to see someone dropped.
-
Re: Hopkins Showtime card thread
I'm gonna go out on a very thick limb here, and say I'm not expecting much from the main event. But the undercard has been entertaining, so it's ok.
-
Re: Hopkins Showtime card thread
Hopkins picked Shumenov for a reason. Because his style is made for Hopkins. But I think this might be a potential trap fight for Hopkins. I think he might have a harder time than he expects
-
Re: Hopkins Showtime card thread
The Alien :vd: I get it, but I don't. He should go back to the hood and Ron Simmons looking axe wielding dudes in the ring.
-
Re: Hopkins Showtime card thread
Shumenov's face tells us one thing -- Genghis Khan got to Khazakstan.

Shumenov is cagey, he is a thinker. And you may be right!

People want to see a fight. They don't want to watch round after round of the champ backing up and pawing with his jab against a smaller plodding hittable opponent.
From one getting old guy to another - Go Hopkins.

It impressed me too. But I had that fight as 50-50 going in. And while I Porter beating Paulie going in, I didn't expect him to blow him out

Have to agree. I thought the Quillin fight was terrible.

Me neither. Porter looking like money.
Corona cameltoe!

Re: Hopkins Showtime card thread
Corona has stepped up its game :lickish:

Re: Hopkins Showtime card thread
OMG...... if they booed Quillin, they're gonna have a field day with this one.
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
-
Re: Hopkins Showtime card thread
I don't see how Hopkins can get that round. 1-0 Shumenov
-
Re: Hopkins Showtime card thread
Bullshit. I remember Hopkins having a nutrientest for the Pavlik fight
-
Re: Hopkins Showtime card thread
2-0 Hopkins. Shumenov is waiting to explode with a bait or he has turned 50 himself

I still like Quillin, I think he has what it takes but he needs to watch the tapes and refine his style

All I know is I wasn't posting in the middle of the rounds like I just did for the 2nd round of Hopkins-Shumenov.

Re: Hopkins Showtime card thread
I used to think highly of Quillin and I still think he is a worthy titlist but the more I watch him, I find myself losing interest.
Daniel jacobs definitely has more substance than him.
GGfake would beat quillin imo.

Agree on Golovkin. The division is in flux. Quillin looked like a guy happy to be mentioned in some ways. Good but..
3-0 Hopkins

Re: Hopkins Showtime card thread
Gonna need more than a jab to win Shumenov.
-
Re: Hopkins Showtime card thread
Hopkins did not like that body shot
-
Re: Hopkins Showtime card thread
-
Re: Hopkins Showtime card thread
4-1 Hopkins. Shumenov posing and trying to out Hopkins a Hopkins...dumb.
-
Re: Hopkins Showtime card thread
Hopkins has pretty good speed for a 50 year old
