Sad is your expression when Lomo gets rudely face-planted.
What's sad is the same guys that dog Russell's resume are GG fans....now THAT is sad.
At least Russell isn't 32 years old.
Cotto has only ONE fight at MW and he has a better resume than that clown.;D
I ain't dogging Russell. I'm just stating straight facts. He's fought nothing but scrubs and you know it. You keep saying no one wants to fight him. But you're doing it halfheartedly. Cuz you know it's bullshit. He's a 5'4 short arm midget with a 58% knock out rate. Nobody is avoiding him
I like Golovtkin. His resume is better than Russell. But that ain't saying shit. Overall Golovtkin resume is very weak. And I been saying that for awhile.
A mexican should not be calling people midgets.
Russell is 5'4 but his reach is only 2 inches shorter than Golovkins.
GG is older than Russell and still hasn't done shit...but you like Golovkin for some reason.
The only threat for Russell is Nicholas Walters...everybody else is getting trounced.
Gary Russell has a 61' inch reach to Golovkin's 70' inch reach; big difference. The same can be said of their resume's; all you have to do is look at their KO percentages and one can understand why many boxing fans hold GGG with higher esteem. Gary Russell is a chinless knockout waiting to happen as soon as he steps up and fights someone who's skilled enough to use angles and set up. Lomachenko will be fine as long as he doesn't linger long enough on the side to get cut up by Russell's razor sharp T-rex arms.
Lomo will let you haters down...you'll be scrathing your empty heads after this annihilation.
At least Russell isn't 32 years old.
GG is matched like his is 22 instead of 32

Re: Loma vs Russell next week
Lomachenko has all the tools to become champion and he could have done so against Salido big time. I am not saying that he'll win against Russell but to count him out flat with the "mauled" tag is just pretty silly. The kid has energy to fight 15 rounds, remarkable technique, a solid speed and enough power to be respected. A multiple time olympian winner like him and with the balls to fight the best instead of trying to live high on a padded record should be met with utter respect.

Remarkable technique best describes Russell...not the guy that falls into clinches.
Do any of you guys like American fighters at all??
Russell is the one with all the tools.
Arum must have a life insurance policy on this glorified amateur.
Can't wait to see him get fucked up this saturday...then ya'll can flock to another foreigner's crotch.;D

Re: Loma vs Russell next week
I have huge doubts and disregard for the way Lomanchenko has walked into the ring on a red carpet. Could give two shats about his Amateur career. Its all a bit of a gimmick move by ScarumArum and frankly Loma has set himself up with zero maneuverability for a long term career...but one thing I like is his literal learning in the Salido fight..the way he closed and adjusted in the late rounds. His stamina and pace looks very solid. The strongest rounds of that fight for him. Have never been enthused with Russell and while he obviously has some skill he either rudely welcomes him within the 1st half of the fight or Lomanchenko will win wide down the stretch at range and with more options.

Like everything else..illegals are given access to shit that does not belong to them...like the 14th amemdment.
The 13th ended slavery....
The 14 dealt with the OFFSPRING of those slaves.....
Not the offspring of mexican illegals...like you and Mikey.

You'd rather call me a troll than try to prove Lomo does not fall into clinches like the glorified amateur he is.
Seems like the guys at Top Rank are reading boxing forums instead of watching actual fighters.
Lomenchenko is getting hurt badly.

Re: Loma vs Russell next week
You know there are two trains of thought around this fight and they can both coexist and be valid at the same time. These threads that devolve into bullshit mud slinging prove in and of themselves just how different this present era is. This place was fun a year ago and now I find myself getting bitter. Its just really hard all of a sudden to find good objective two way communication these days.
People beat down and throw fighters under the bus prior to the fight and then when their fighter beats the guy they act as if it was the most meaningful fight in decades. Well if the person was so undeserving to begin with then why make such a big deal about it? What people seem to fail to realize is every-time you belittle the opponent of the guy you pick to win, you actually belittle the guy you picked.
I'm a fan of Russell but that does not mean that I cant at least entertain the other side prior to dismissing it.
Timing can beat speed. The examples of this are endless. Now look at the globe and where the two poles reside. That is the distance between the style of Salido in comparison to Russell. Lomas style is much more adapt to Russell then Salido.
Whats crazy here is that the world is judging him on his first fight that was a title challenge against a guy that couldn't make weight and that did his best Stanley Ketchel impression. Russell is a different animal. A pure athletic boxer who has yet to be touched that hangs around the pocket and simply overwhelms the less talented man with speed. That is most likely prime geography for Loma. Gary's chin is getting checked.
Man the closer this fight gets the more I think Russell might get knocked out. That is an uncomfortable feeling when you are a fan of the guy. I'll be cheering for him but I'm not sure his past group of opponents will have prepared him for the skills he's about to face. This may prove to be a time when Gary's spoon feedings comes back to haunt him. Got a little to used to it. Maybe lost a step or half second but more importantly that raw will. A little lazy mentally. Vasyl's drive after the Salido set back must be through the roof. The worry for him might be over training.
The heart says Gary puts it all together and uses this for the message to the world fight that he has yet to have had. The brain says his team has been carefully handling him for another reason and that he may have lost other attributes as a fighter because of it. I thought Gary Russell was the next Roy Jones 4 years ago. This is a tough fight to pick. How it ends even tougher. It could literally be a blow out or a controversy on the cards.

Not a terrible undercard, not stellar, but not bad. Looking forward to Guerreros return and wondering where his head is at. Forgot about Chad Dawsons return on undercard in some 8 rounder vs George Blades at Ly Hvy. Showextreme should air it. Dominic Breazeale fighting too

You can't ride someones coattails if they don't own a fucking coat. You should be ashamed of your ancestors. Fucking embarrassed to even call them ancestors. They let themselves get punked by another race. They got worked like dogs, fed scarps and still said "thank you, sir." They saw there women get traded like baseball cards till every slave owner around got a turn. Any female 10 years and up got fucked. Most of the time they got fucked right in front of the black man. And what the black man do? Nothing. Not a damn fucking thing. And it's that pussy, coward attitude your ancestors displayed back than, that your kind is still looked down on today

Re: Loma vs Russell next week
Man Russell took some big shots. I though his chin was his downfall but looked sterdy enough to me. Just too slow and too easily countered. Loma was impressive and I hope now that he has a title he wont let the level of opposition drop.

Re: Loma vs Russell next week
Yep. Russell's chin doesn't seem to have been the issue for not stepping up earlier, and he probably might have done better if he hadn't taken all those easy opponents. It turned out he was the one jumping in the deep end too soon.

No Saturday fight night thread? eyes not on the ball? Was a great couple of fights anyway. The Ukrainian put on a great performance and Russell showed a lot of bottle and mettle to stay in it and readjust himself in the second half. I am not sure if Russell proved he has a great chin or if Vasily just doesn't have one shot stopping power. Was much better than a lot of the 'big' fights that are nowhere near as well matched. Great display of technique and heart from both guys.

Russell Jrs an interesting fighter, he has bags of talent but has been moved very slowly, which always raises questions. Loma is the complete opposite being moved very quickly. From what Ive seen so far I think the top 5 in this division beat both these fighters and this is probably the best option for both. Im predicting Loma wins a UD in a competitive fight.
Russell can't get the top guys to fight him....just like ya'll are quick to point out about GG.
At least he's not 32 years old.
Russell will destroy lomenchenko.
Yeah. Destroy.
We all get things wrong :-X but it's so much sweeter when it's a troll :D
We wont hear from that clown again until he pops up with a new user in a few months
We can only hope he's gone :D

I used to confuse Gary Russell Jr. with Gary Stark Jr. first couple times I saw them as they started around the same time as prospects.
Stark Jr. stepped up his competition and lost then retired.
Russell was def more talented, but never stepped up his and is still undefeated.
Russell can't step it up if nobody will fight him...he's been begging for the top guys.
Jhonny Gonzalez and others wanted no parts.
Arum has really lost his touch..
Putting Lomenchenko in with Russell is the worst move there is to make..
Bob must have taken a life insurance policy out on Lomo...somebody should check up on that.
Russell was offered a fight with DeLeon. Which he refused. And he was offered a chanced to go to Mexico to fight Gonzalez. Which he never responded too.
Russell has been matched extremely soft to hide a flaw he has. The Lomenchenko fight was almost forced on them due to the title being vacant. If not they wouldn't be fighting him. It's hilarious hearing Russell talk up his pro experience over Lomenchenko like if it actually matters. Lomenchenko has only 2 fights. And he's already fought for a world title. Faced a bigger fighter. Faced adversity. And he's gone 12 rounds. He's already more experienced than Russell
Jhonny Gonzales was offered a fight with Russell but refused.
On this side of the border
25 pro fights is more experience than 2 pro fights...
Russell has more PRO experience than Lomenchenko.
I can't wait to hear your excuses when Russell mercy kills this guy;D
Well hell, you are going to be eating a bucket of crow.
I'm thinking Russell isn't that good but he isn't that bad either. It turned out that Lomenchenko does have impressive talent and stupid old Bob hasn't lost that magic yet.

Most except big mouth.

Re: Loma vs Russell next week
Lomachenko vs Rigo pleaseee
-
Re: Loma vs Russell next week
Now that's a fight that would top them all. Rigo would have to move up from superbantam, which is exactly what he needs to get some more attention and earn as much as he is worth.

Re: Loma vs Russell next week
I have a feeling that now Loma is champ, he'll be miked for quite some time before he is put in with someone like Rigo.
