Nice right by Ali drops Abregu :o
Maybe carlos turns it up finally
Abregu was seriously wobbled there. Saddam had a chance to make a statement on HBO and he fucked it up.
Abregu survives the round on unsteady legs ;D
I was expecting Ali to get slaughtered going into this fight. Impressive performance over a listless Abregu
Abregu must have jet lag, or ebola. Maybe a twin brother ???
Oh did abregu waffle up went to restroom n grab a beer n he's attacking huh
Abregu coming on that round :)
Wow.... either the kid Ali has deceptive power..... or Abregu never quite got over that first knockdown. Surprise ending to the fight.
Both guys hurt each other early in the ninth. Ali takes over though and drops Abregu again. Ref stops it not long after. Should have let it go a little long ;)
Ohhhh! Nice. Abregu is toast! Whatever his problem was was his to shoulder. Ali stole the show and picked his spots for finish. Very nice
Well good on ali his corner wanted hoim to stay away talking about bring special, but looks like he.actually wants to be special
Compared to last year this has been a rubbish year for boxing. The best fights -- eg. Matthysse-Molina -- have been by accident rather than design.
We're overdue something special here. So long as we get a conclusive outcome we're going to get something to remember either way.
:box3:
Pacing the carpet and freaking the dog out..Ol school style ;D
this kinda sounds like a Wraslin' match, Alien vs Krusher :cwm13:
I have no damn clue what language this stream is in.
Is it wrong to get an anticipation boner?
Ode to Bernard Hopkins
Hard to believe that its been over 20 years since the first time I seen this guy fight. It was Hbo and against Roy Jones. I figure I disliked him for about 10 of those years but have grown to respect him for his life's work. Its rare to see this kind of longevity and after all is said and done we that have witnessed it have a lot to be grateful for as fans. He really is a throwback.
Saddened somewhat as a fan of the sport in general that this man is not given his due and is rather slighted at every opportunity because of how he has looked that last couple of years. The mere fact that in this panty waist era that he is willing to unify with this animal says enough on its own but people need to realize that this guy is like many that came before him and is an international treasure to the sport. He's been fighting since many people on this very forum were most likely in diapers.
The man started late and came up the hard way surrounded by all the cornflake box superstars. The middleweight division was being ignored save Roy's brief stay and so was he. Nevertheless he went on to rack up 20 defenses and become the first undisputed champion since Hagler and the last undisputed champion at middle(save Jermaines paper trail).
At age 40 he loses two close fights with Hbo's new poster child and then jumps up two weight divisions and destroys the man who beat the man again defying the odds. But dominating middleweight in his mid 30's already showed that he was an odds buster. And lets not forget that he also actually weighed 160 pounds on many nights of the fight. Making him a natural middleweight. Digging deeper we can go back to where he came from. A thug and convict that even lost his first fight as a pro.
Then in his early 40's he has two ugly fights with Winky and Cal and after those agrees to meet another middleweight destroyer in Pavlik at a catch weight and schools him. The came Pascal , the thrashing of Cloud while closing in on 50 and tonight he goes for yet another milestone.
50 years from now he will most likely get more credit for what he has done then in the present which in all honesty is par for the course with this sport for certain players. Hindsight is truly 20/20 and I'm happy that I was able to witness this guy. Should he win this then imo he starts to creep in to that GOAT conversation regardless of how we feel about him personally. Whoever wins, I hope they really push hard for Stevenson and full unification. I'm a fan of Kovalev and still think he wins but I find myself cheering for the old man.
WAR EXECUTIONER!!!
Kovalev looks a little tight.
Inuit to drunk to read ask that right now but cheers fur being up n, may the best man win
The designer of the "K-rusher" gear should be fired. Looks like the old K-mart logo ???
corona gal + cc
Go sergey
did anyone catch tonight's weight for each fighter?
Damn dude...Kov dropped him with speed there!
Krusher is REAL !
Kovalev looks huge compared to Hopkins.
Not looking good for the Nard.
B-hop done!
Not much from Kovalev in Round 2.
Has Hopkins landed a telling punch through 2 rounds?
Kovalev needs to stop just thinking about the right hand though.
1st round knock-down was legit, but Hopkins was a little of balance and a bit of a slip ;)
Kovalev has the eye of the lion.
Those legs are feeling 75 here, all he has is trap & shoot right coming...Kovalev better stay on 1-2s
Spending the fight on the ropes reacting slowly to getting thumped by Kovalev is not a winning proposition for Hopkins.
I think Kovalev is fighting a smart, measured fight. I also think he's really smart to be trying to punch with Hopkins, that seems to have make BHop very hesitant.
Did Hopkins look a little hurt at the end of that round  showing his great chin though
