Was that an appropriate wave off.
Re: I'm with Lopez over Berto!
Good KO for Berto... good little scrap.

That is what I thought. I figured there was a great shot at the upset
Re: I'm with Lopez over Berto!
Berto is roadkill for somebody like Thurman. Interesting to see who he fights next.
Re: I'm with Lopez over Berto!
Wow, Arreola had a life and death brawl with a bum and won a razor thin decision (by one point in my eyes).
Good KO for Berto but the stoppage was weak.
Re: I'm with Lopez over Berto!
What the fuck! He stood up as the motherfucking ref "stopped" the fight! Fuck! Fucking ref!
Re: I'm with Lopez over Berto!
That's exactly the shit that hurts boxing to the general public.
Re: I'm with Lopez over Berto!
The UK is watching Poret versus Bone and unfortunately I already know the result. Never mind.
What the fuck does the ref have on his head?

This is like a slightly upgraded version of FNF.
Re: I'm with Lopez over Berto!
Whos' the dumb ass manager who let that kid in there with porter?
Re: I'm with Lopez over Berto!
Man, bunch of Buzzkills ;D I saw three decent and mutual fights. When you next see Berto and Jabba Arreola being pushed on some premier network..remember the razor thin war and bad stoppage ;D
Re: I'm with Lopez over Berto!
If Arreola took himself seriously as a professional athlete and came to the ring in decent shape - not even great shape, just decent shape - that guy wouldn't have gotten out of the first minute.

The stoppage was good, Lopez was finished at that point. He would have just taken unnecessary punishment.
I just watched the Berto-Lopez fight on youtube a few minutes ago.
The commentary was ass-out pro Lopez. Horrible, biased. Said nothing when Berto Landed and spoke of Lopez like he was the 2nd coming of Ray Robinson.
Excellent boxing my patooty.
The stoppage? Kinda weak- but the boy's face was getting damaged, Berto was the agressor the whole fight- though I admit not always effective aggression.
Berto did his job, kudos.
Hope I can find the Arreola fight next.
Re: I'm with Lopez over Berto!
I worked late and didn't get home to the fourth round of berto v Lopez. The stoppage seemed a bit screwy, at least let em get back on their feet and see if they can walk straight. Lopez needed that win, granted Berto did just as much. I need to watch the other fights from the night. I figure either all the best fights or you tube are the place to go unless someone has another idea.

I said the same thing... money and depression is a dangerous thing... he should not be anywhere near Wilder at this stage... Arreola is not ready to fight anyone of any note.
If he had stayed in shape, looked good, and won convincingly within three rounds, he could have gotten a good money fight with Wilder. Stood half of a chance too.

I agree but him turning up really fat made for a rather amusing fight. I think arreola should be made to weigh in at at least 260 pounds and face sub par opponents it makes it pretty fun to watch.

When was he ever in good shape? ;D
Re: I'm with Lopez over Berto!
It's too bad Lopez is unwilling to use his boxing skills to win fights. He established a good lead in the fight. He had a significant reach and mobility advantage over Berto. If he had kept fighting from the outside he could have boxed to an easy UD or late stoppage win.
He should take a look at Gatti's career and learn from the adjustments Gatti made towards the end.

Maybe Berto had something to do with Lopez early advantage being nullfied.

I think the fight changed when Lopez backed himself against the ropes and invited Berto to trade with him. He gave up all his natural size and athletic advantages to trade with a big puncher. That was the beginning of the end. Up to that point he was doing good body work and was effective landing first and maintaining distance.
