Was looking at them on apples site yesterday and the fact you can receive calls on a wristwatch and have a conversation through its is brilliant.
One day we will look back at smartphones and laugh ν ½νΈ
How do you text on it, or take photos or surf the net? Far more texting is done that phone calls made worldwide. Most global internet usage is now done via mobile devices. Are people going to access the net via a half inch screen? Or watch videos? With a three hour battery? It's a device for tits like google glass.

People in the gym, driving etc infact anywhere it's aggro or illegal to get a phone out in public the I watch works, you make or answer sneaky calls and voice command emails etc so business people in meetings or anyone in general who has to take that urgent call or and that urgent msg also winπ
Don't be scared of the future , duck me if I told you 25 years ago that you'd have a pocket sized phone you could watch movies on you'd say I was insane π
You are insane if you pay all that money for the use you just stated. You have been completely bought into the consumerism that this is normal, needed and sensible.

Call me a bugger but I don'T see how fantastic it is to receive calls from my wrist when I couldn't text properly and have the hell of a time to dial the number because of the small screen when I could simply have a cell phone and a discrete pair of headset to keep my hands free. Not to mention all the other things that we can't do as well as with a cell because of the size of the screen. The Apple watch is to me nothing more than a fancy gadget they are trying to sell us as the future or something premium. Perhaps in 5-6 generations the watch will be worth it, who knows, but at the moment, I'd get one for free that it wouldn't take 5 min that it'd be available on Ebay :D

You can'r lift weights one-handed. If you're driving and you have to put your wrist to your mouth you're still going to get three points. New cars have bluetooth thingys fitted now anyway. It's a solution in search of a problem that doesn't exist.
Re: Apple Watch - Yay or Nay?
;D
You wouldn't have to dial a number it'll be voice activated so you would just tell it to "Call Dave" and you wouldn't have to bring it to your mouth to talk on it either, it's got a speaker and a microphone built into it so you could just keep both hands on the wheel.
Fuck me do you lot still wear flares?
@Master i've only just got an iphone and didn't buy it and refuse to spend Β£600 on a phone, my GF gave me her's as she got an upgrade the other month and after years of using Samsung Android Apple wipes the floor 100% against any Android phone, My sis has the top HTC and the Iphone is still way better, just so much slicker and user friendly.
Only thing i don't like is all the fucking about with itunes and how much longer it takes to get stuff from your phone to your PC.
Re: Apple Watch - Yay or Nay?
It is better quality and nicer looking but costs the earth! Is it really worth it? More of a status symbol in my eyes.

Dyson is better vacuum cleaner but still overpriced.

It still only works when you've got an actual phone in your pocket. Otherwise you can't make calls. And of course you can't text or access the internet in any meaningful way. Other than that it's perfect and really useful.

You don't have to have your iphone in your pocket infact not even on your person just close enough to pick up the signal which i think is probably gonna be a few meters - the watch isn't gonna be joined to the phone with a fucking wire ;D
Think bluetooth or wifi and how those signals connect between 2 devices or device and router and the penny should drop.
It's 2015 not the early 1980's ;D
Re: Apple Watch - Yay or Nay?
And mark my words, one day the norm (just like we all now have smartphones) will be to have a device on your wrist that you can easily communicate to other people with - whether you chaps like it or not smartphones will simply be phased out and the technology/electronics will just get smaller and smaller making this as normal as pulling your Mobile/Cell out of your pocket and making a call today ;)
I can turn my Sky box onto different channels without wires or having the remote in my pocket it's fucking great and i have been doing it for years now ;D

I see. So if you're out and about you don't have to have your phone in your pocket. Just a few metres away is fine. Maybe you can employ somebody to carry it round for you so you don't have to have your phone in your pocket but you can still get to it easily when you want to make a call or text somebody or access the internet or whatever. And then every three hours they can go off and recharge the watch for you when it runs out of battery and then ring you on your phone to find out where you are so they can bring your watch back to you. Or you could just carry your phone in your pocket like you do now! For fuck's sake.
Screens are getting bigger, not smaller. Nobody is going to trade in a six inch screen for a tiny watch screen. Maybe people will start strapping six inch screens onto their wrists!

Stop trying to be clever
So it works differently in the car or the gym?
