Just a great fight.
Holy shit!!
Mares did some nice body work in the 3rd. I got him up 2-1
The flurry exchanges kind of remind me of Morales-Barrera...gonna be a hard one to judge if it stays like this.
2 2 great fight love it
Mares landed a nice shot to the junk on the refs blind side
Santa Cruz is buzzing Mares in these exchanges, Mares labored and busting up a bit in 5th
Mares a little wild with his haymakers and leaving himself open for a counter shot.
Santa Cruz needs to stay disciplined, because Mares can be a sneaky counter puncher in spots. Santa Cruz seems to have the long range edge a bit right now.
Leo 4 2 but close
Santa Cruz just turned the corner, put a class on for Mares in 6th. Very sharp both directions
Good exchange to end the round! May be just me... but I just don't see the probability of Mares hurting Santa Cruz in those exchanges and yet it could happen the other way around.
Santa Cruz 7th. this jolting busy punching has Mares in pure reaction mode, and that's in between clinches
Cruz is coming close to imposing his will. Mares is doing his damnest to prevent that from happening.
Got Santa Cruz up maybe 2 rounds at this point. Mares has to step up his pressure at this point.
Is Teddy a frustrated realtor??
That's about the second or third time he's gone off on one of his patented parallels.
Top notch flurries by both to end 9th. Think its time for Leo to mash the gas and pressure with sharp shooting
Leo barin a collapse got this
Mares bullying start 11th, effective. I think he needs a brick being behind. Took 11th
The 11th was a clinic for Leo
Great fight but a clear win for Leo
Mares did all he could, but Santa Cruz by comfortable UD and going away.
:appl: Just a quality scrap by both. Leo pulled away and matured tonight...116-112. Much fresher and adapted like a champ
Leo 9 3ish or so
I'm a drunk biased bastard, but I just don't like that kind of fight anymore! Both guys imo would get killed by Rigo, lets see that happen! Yeah right, boxing is fucked.
BTW..... aren't there two old guys fighting on another channel?
;D
Who cares, right?
Santa Cruz clear UD, Mares didn't have enough effective pressure in the second half. Both pretty good defensively. I don't think either has top flight power though.
Leo is the next great Mexican me thinks
Don't like tone of this...
One judge was clearly biased...idk what fight he was watching.
114-114 ref is shrooming tonight.
Congrats to Santa Cruz. Compliment to what we still call "championships"
Mares says he thinks he won. Leo hits harder than I thought. They might just rematch
Mares doesn't have the right style to beat Santa Cruz. I think Santa Cruz has proved himself and should move on to the best featherweights. I really think there is better competition at superbantam, but not sure if he could still make that.
I think Rigo beats him too, but Frampton would probably be a good style matchup. Santa Cruz could take that IMO.
Yep, I just can't stand that Rigo gets left out of all the fights clamored for in these divisions, it's a complete joke.
