Just watched the fight myself. Kudos to Holm. She did a lot of moving backwards, but she also connected a lot of punches and had Rousey off balance all night. Rousey started getting desperate and looking amateurish. It was a matter of time.

The real question for me is why Rousey who spent most of her life competing as a judoka, meddling at the Olympics, world championships and won numerous international contests would try and box a ex world champion boxer having only spent this year learning to box rather than go after legs to take her down for the armlock ?!?!

Its only an organisation in MMA. UFC fighters get to avoid fighters in other organisations, just because they are the best in that weight in one organisation does not make them the best in the whole of that sport.
Put it this way. Joe Calzaghe was only the WBO champion for 10 or 11 years. He was a great fighter but people will argue because he didnt face the other champs that were available he cant be regarded as the best.
she tried twice. Holm got out of the first attempt and the second time rousey got dumped on her ass.
Holm did a great job of using movement. If she's not in range she can't try and head grab or throw. When she was in range she was getting hit.
Partly her own fault for buying in to the hype and being shoved on the cover of ring. Massively dissrespectful to boxers imo.
yeah i kinda got the feeling she went into this thinking i'm gonna show the world what a great boxer I am then after being popped and shocked a few times she as Missy said tried judo but by that time it was far too late as she was done.Quote:
