Tyson is getting millions as a challenger. Tyson is winning at selling himself. Clearly more people want to watch him.
Hmmmm....could Tyson fury be making millions because of WHO he is fighting?
Also Tyson Fury is a heavyweight and heavyweights get bigger money typically
Tyson is getting £2.5 million in his first title challenge.
Klitschko got 80% of £7 million v Pulev, which left Pulev with £1.4 million.
What did Jennings get?
Tyson sells.
I'm not sure what your point is, apart from "Tyson sells". So Pulev got £1.4 Million? Do you have any idea what Bulgarian TV paid for the rights? Very little if anything, in case you didn't know over there, PPV and money in general is harder to come by than it is in the UK, they have other priorities, like putting food on the table. Sky have contributed considerably to Fury's purse.
If we're going to compare , why don't we compare with a country with relative affluence, like Russia for instance.
Now the Purse for Povetkin to fight Wlad was won with a bid of about £22 million. So does this mean "Povetkin sells?" Or is it about how deep one's pockets are?
Fury is going to need all the money he gets for Saturday night, because an interview I read the other day said he downsized house wise and has got rid of the Big Range Rover in return for a 15 year old Merc.
You may put this down to what happened with Haye and what that cost him and you may be right, but obviously it cost Haye also. I don't think he would deliberately put himself on the verge of Bankruptcy because he was scared of Fury.
I bet Pulev's £1.4 mill goes a lot further that Tyson's £2.5 mill. Camps in Belgium, paying all his family/entourage doesn't come cheap.
For the record, on the most important aspect i.e. In the ring, Pulev and Povetkin both beat Tyson, as does Wlad.
Are you a pro boxer ? If not your opinion isn't valid according to the pup.

re: Wlad-Fury - Plus Rod Stewart. 10pm. Saturday/SKY PPV. Fact.
The British media will up hype any heavyweight to a level that is annoying....look at Audley Harrison and David Price and all the other club fighters (for lack of a better word) the rest of the world has had to be subjected to just because the Brits get into a little bit of a nationalistic fervor from time to time.
Oh and it CERTAINLY happens in the United States as well....we've had LOADS of needlessly overhyped fighters from here.....but then again not every American cheers for them or travels to see them. Great fans the Brits, but Jesus, get some talent for once! Though Joshua looks like the goods for now.

re: Wlad-Fury - Plus Rod Stewart. 10pm. Saturday/SKY PPV. Fact.
Let's be honest, there's no reason why it shouldn't start on time , there's only 2 fights on the undercard. The Germans usually run like clockwork as well.

re: Wlad-Fury - Plus Rod Stewart. 10pm. Saturday/SKY PPV. Fact.
I still think Fury has a real shot in this fight. Wlad has not looked shape in his last 3 fights. Age has caught up to him. Fury has to stay busy and keep that jab in his face. Fury by 8th round TKO.

Don't mean to be childish but I do know a little bit about these things. Not only has Fury drifted back out to 4/1 - with several firms - there's even bigger prices being offered.

Well no hard feelings. Hes going to make someone rich if the odds are getting longer!

re: Wlad-Fury - Plus Rod Stewart. 10pm. Saturday/SKY PPV. Fact.
I've gone Fury 7-9
Will probably put a Klitschko Rd 11 on too as that's much more likely when Tyson's eye's are closed due to a peppering jab
Can't wait for this

In all seriousness and not wanting to wind you up , I'm glad. This fight does fuck all for Hughie Fury, a fight for the sake of having a fight. He won't learn anything , just a waste of time. He needs serious camps where he can focus on an opponent, come up with a game plan and learn. He doesn't have to be in Tyson's shadow and nor would any of them in that camp want that.
Now, on fight night, Team Fury , and Peter in particular can put all of his focus into the matter at hand. World Title fights don't come along every day.

re: Wlad-Fury - Plus Rod Stewart. 10pm. Saturday/SKY PPV. Fact.
Fury has to use his height and reach and jab Wlad which takes the champions best weapon away. Simple. Wlad is not use to anyone doing that to him and he will have to take the fight to Fury who can catch him coming in.

Tyson is adamant that Wlad is coming in light to rush him early.
I think with Wlads huge training ring and the soft surface that hes aiming to use his legs. Not just for going back either. I think he thinks Tyson will move alot. I think hes going to be thrown with what hes going to encounter.
Im looking forward to it, there isnt anyone who is not looking forward to it regardless of reasons, Tyson is the interest. Iv heard a few people saying the same things in the video interviews that they are anticipating something special from Tyson.
There is a video of a bit done on TV of 18 year old Tyson from 2006 where Steve Egan Tysons first amateur coach reads off a list of predictions for Tyson. They ended with 2015 world champion and 2016 undisputed world champion!

For me Fury is crude, lacks power and movement. I can't see him still there beyond round 3. I hope I am wrong which is rare. Klitscho can't go on forever but I don't see Tyson having the where with all to be the one to stop him.

re: Wlad-Fury - Plus Rod Stewart. 10pm. Saturday/SKY PPV. Fact.
He said this , she said that , doesn't alter the fact fury has beaten nobody of top class , he has a suspect chin and has little power.
The fact he acts like a retarded loud mouth clown has sold to some , but reality suggests he will lose by brutal KO inside 3.
Wlad by KO.
-
re: Wlad-Fury - Plus Rod Stewart. 10pm. Saturday/SKY PPV. Fact.
Will have a time avoiding result until it airs here ;D Hope Fury steps up to his build up and actually comes out guns blazing, he must. If he poses off and boxes tall with Wlad he gets roughed off balance and then flattened. Honestly hoping Slingblade pulls off the upset and turns division on its head.

A suspect chin doesnt hold you back in boxing. Look at Klitschko! 3 knockout losses! Lewis had 2. Pacquiao had been sparked face first to sleep but still participated in the biggest match in history and some even had him favourite!
Again, Ali got dropped by a 180lb British level journeyman and in his very next fight toyed with one of the most feared fighters ever. The difference is, Clay was switched on and focussed in that fight as Tyson will be in this.
You also say he hasnt fought anyone of note. That may be partially true but he can only fight opponents who both want to get in the ring with him and also, dont pull out.
What iv seen is that bar being dropped he has beaten everyone hes fought comfortably and most cases easier than anyone else has including Vitali Klitschko. Even when hes not been in the best shape. I can see through the things you dont like, that put you off by him. You dont like his personality, thats fine but dont let that cloud judgement over his actual ability. People look at him and sometimes without even watching him fight and say his a lumox, slow cant punch etc when in reality hes one of the quickest, most agile and skilled heavies out there. He doesnt load up on his shots and is more fluid for it. A punch that lands hurts more than a telegraphed loaded up shot but he can still certainly punch as you will see. He mixes his shots up well and has stopped and dropped alot of fighters with body shots. How many other heavies do you see dropping opponents with body shots?
This weekend will clear it all up and im hoping the typical "Klitschko got old" doesnt pop up when Tyson wins.

re: Wlad-Fury - Plus Rod Stewart. 10pm. Saturday/SKY PPV. Fact.
He has beaten everybody put in front of him .
Yes because he has fought garbage hand picked opposition, even your best friend Haye brutally floored and koed Chisora , something fury couldn't do in 2 fights.
You want him to win so you big him up , well listen to the masses , and you might just see the truth.
Wlad Ko inside 3.
Wlad has a suspect chin also , however he has a huge punch , and natural boxing skill and movement. Fury has neither.

Fury has neither!? You know nothing:rolleyes:
Haye was pressured by Chisora, Tyson played with him every single round.
-
re: Wlad-Fury - Plus Rod Stewart. 10pm. Saturday/SKY PPV. Fact.
Chisora pressued Haye and got KOED , fury toyed with Chisora because he doesn't have KO power.
For the record Chisora is a slow plodder.
Those are both facts , that much I know.
-
re: Wlad-Fury - Plus Rod Stewart. 10pm. Saturday/SKY PPV. Fact.
As boring a sod as Wlad is his KO stats are very impressive. 42 of 53 KO's have come in the first six rounds. In his last 10 fights, five of his chin jobs have come in under six rounds.
Wlad rounds 1-6 is - 3/1
Wlad KO - EVENS

Weighed in. Nothing unusal.
Wlad - 17st 7lb (247)

Height difference looks insignificant.

Wlad is wearing his lifts. Wait till fight night.
Look at the open workouts where Tyson walks past Wlad to get out, Wlad nervously watches and keeps an eye but there is a noticable height difference there. Its not just the height. Its that reach. No one has ever had a longer reach than Tyson in boxing, even Valuev!

I think it's really light for Fury, as light as I can remember him being, I'm pleased . It means he's had a good hard camp and is in the best shape of his life, and I wouldn't expect anything else. Good luck to him, I hope he does himself proud.
It doesn't change my mind on how I think the fight will go, but hats off to him and best of luck.
-
re: Wlad-Fury - Plus Rod Stewart. 10pm. Saturday/SKY PPV. Fact.
I'd like to see Fury try and win this on the inside. Wlad just doesn't punch back when leather is flying at him, his only defence would be to grab. Fury has the size and strength to match Wlad in the clinches and he's smart enough to get on the referees case if Wlad holds excessively.
If he boxes on the outside that puts him in the most danger.
My head still says Wlad wins but I'm intrigued as to what we are going to get from Fury. He has been pretty much taking the piss up to now in his career. Now the chips are down.
