does that make him a cunt?
and can the two things even be compared

He's a heavyweight version (in shape heavyweight version of) of Naseem Hamed....gets beat after talking shit nonstop for 4 years doesn't do diddley-poo in the fight vs Wlad, shows off a hurt little toe and goes on the talk show circuit. Makes a comeback (needs money and misses the celebrity of boxing) fights absolute nobodies and apparently has no interest in winning a title again...else he'd fight someone good and there are plenty of available dance partners if you will.
I counted, that's less than 300 words.
Just dwell on your last paragraph, if Haye can draw 10,000 tickets from fans, and Bellend does also, and Hearn or whoever puts it on at Goodison Park is there anything actually wrong with that? According to you the cruiserweight division is even more shit than the HW, but if people want to pay........ Would YOU take the money for an easy nights work with a week or so of talking bollocks on the telly before? At least its still boxing, not bloody UFC!
yeah but what happened to ambition? what happened to wanting to prove that you are the best out there? why settle for an easy pay day when you fully believe in yourself and want to create a legacy?
No, there's no problem with it. I mean if David Haye JUST wants to make money that's fine...I was under the assumption that he actually wanted to achieve something in professional boxing, but apparently not and if you're ok with that then fine.
But I, as a boxing fan see that kind of fight as a waste of time.
The cruiserweight division is a NOTHING division....who are the 10 greatest cruiserweights of all-time???? Can you name 5 of them? I mean fucking hell it's no different than any division lower than anything under flyweight. The division itself has little to no history at all, it's been around since what 1980 or so? Maybe YOU admire the cruiserweight division, but most people look at 175 and heavyweight as exciting divisions that actually mean something to the sport.
Show of hands, who is a fan of the cruiserweight division? Anyone??? I'm not saying there can't be great fights which happen there, I'm just saying nobody follows the division and the division doesn't mean anything....unless you're David Haye or one of his fans.
Its called professional boxing, for years we have not seen the best fight the best, indeed promoters discourage their slaves from taking competitive fights. It always has been, and always will be, about ticket sales (or nowadays PPV numbers). The only thing the promoters and alphabet committee men are interested in is numbers. Haye will exploit this because he is half sensible. Hamed is nowhere near half sensible and his family are seriously letting him down, and in his division he is nothing like as competitive as Haye. You can also see the bad management from family in the Fury camp, shame.
Haye will pick his fights, pick his money, be beholden to no promoter, and may even win a title again, good luck to him.
Well if he's happy with that and his fans are happy with that then God bless them.
I think he could have been and done so much more....he'd never be THE guy with Wladimir in the division but he could have easily been #2 and made a fucking killing. Haye vs Solis in an Olympic rematch at Stamford Bridge before Vitali got to Solis, would have been HUGE. Haye vs any of the smaller heavyweights I think he'd win (sans break of course).
I've always been a "Haye-ter" proud of it as well. But I never doubted his talent only his dedication. Can't have his attitude and pair it with that lack of dedication...just my take.
Yeah but at least the majority of fighters at least try to pick someone on on the very edge of being a semi decent fight, even if you know that the fight will be absolutely shite most of the time you will have at least heard of the person they are fighting, Haye is literally walking into a pub and picking random blokes to fight at the expense of the fans.
I'm not going to get into a debate because unfortunately I think that Haye is a cunt and I don't think you will be able to change my mind on that.
To be honest Master, although I've attended most of Haye's fights, including the two most important German ones, I would not pay to attend a Bellend fight. But who are we to argue? If it makes money and customers are happy then let them get on with it, its not my thing but at least its better than UFC. The Bellend thing, after his comments having last won, seems to be whipping up tribalism and hooly followers, don't really like that in boxing.
That's it then, Mr, Hearn has spoken and Bellend and Haye have done the warm up act. I will not attend. I will PPV and relax with a few drinks and have a bet. Not like the old days when we all sat together and nobody knew who was supporting who, we just went to see a good and fair contest.
This will be a gross mismatch just like GGG v Brook. Stupidity of the fight game just gets worse and worse.
This is just as bad as Bellew v Cleverely 2 PPV and Haye v Audley PPV.
