He had zero resistance falling thru the ropes. Hopkins goes out limp and frankly sucks to see that crap. Even Kermit Cintron hesitated before he jumped in a crowd FFS :furious2:

joe smith jr is so nice, well done to him !.. good for hbo too, joe smith moves himself closer to wbc title shot which stevenson has, maybe he can beat himself another old man.
fair enough, I don't think usyk did much of anything for the first two rounds and mchunu was landing the far more powerful punches in the first 3 so i give him those rounds. punchstat numbers had mchunu outlanding usyk in the first two, that is what i saw two and i thought they were better punches too.
Sucks to see what? I mean it's natural to pull for a guy who is 52, but I can't really buy the injured ankle/leg at all frankly, he spaced out from the last shot that put him through the ropes and you could almost see him decide to feign it being something else when he hit the ground. Got this one way wrong, Smith is a likeable guy to boot so good for him.
I don't know man, I can't think of a more Bernard Hopkins way to go out than Bernard just did.
I'm disappointed I'm reading Usyk will probably be on the undercard of GGG/Jacobs. I had hopes they would at least look to see if any other champs wanted to unify before settling into a soft seat.
Other than getting KO'd, Hopkins complaining about a loss is a perfect way for him to go out.
In all seriousness though, I never thought that father time would beat Hopkins. But at almost age 52, and a 2 year layoff, I don't think anybody could be a world beater.
Just watched the fight lol how the fuck can Bernard look himself in the eye after that. He knows fine well he wasn't pushed and he never hurt his ankle what a fucking joke that guy is. He quit and was looking for the no contest and everyone knows it.
I love Bernard and that was hard to watch him go out that way. His legs looked shot, but he can still slip and counter quite well for his age. Felt he was losing, but keeping it fairly close on the cards for a late comeback. He got knocked out clean by a nice, hard nosed kid. Great athletes hate losing and Bernard is no different. It's part of what makes them so great. He knows he lost fair and square. He dared to be great one last time, but it was one too many.
This was basically a battle between the aging vet who relies in technique vs the young pressure fighter who's coming to take your head off. This was actually an intriguing match up. Some of us have seen it in gyms around the world via sparring sessions.
Hopkins is still a legend and Duran did worse and so is he.
Hopkins has been great , but I have never noticed the ankle he has on the back of his head. That ankle on his head hit that floor hard after he had been hit with 4 power shots..
Brutal end but come on BHop "He was getting tired and he pushed me out of the ring".....nah bud he PUNCHED you out of the ring.
Fucking hell. Just seen this. Lucky he didn't injure himself very badly landing like that.
Unfortunately I think we'll see him in the ring at least one more time.
What did he say I will never loose to a white guy, he just got KO by one LOL.
What a fitting end can't stand the fucker I feel like dancing.
Loved seeing that. I've always hated Bhop for lulling me to sleep for all those years.
He went out getting KO'd and whining like a baby! ;D
Just watched Hopkins interview. He was so adamant that he was pushed out of the ring. He definitely wasn't. Also, found out that one judge had Hopkins up on a card. How is that possible? I had one round for Hopkins, but I could see two rounds at most.
Do you no something I bet on Hopkins to win I lost and I don't give a shit.
Agree.
Terrible way to leave the game though..I mean how many of us can remember someone actually being knocked out of the ring to the floor?!
Nigel benn nearly fell out against Gerald MC but with Hopkins it was a complete royal rumble elimination.
He is 51 years old (but so greedy) that I expect him to fight again against a complete novice for a better exit.
Is it true that one judge had it for Hopkins one had it for Smith, and one had it a draw? If so, that is a sickening disgrace and warrants an investigation.
Here is my "nephew's" quote on another site and I essentially agree with it:
"EZ E Yep, a terrible loser. It reminded me of the first Bhop vs Dawson. He played his way out of that one with that "I hurt my shoulder..." routine. My granddaughter has fallen harder on the Monkey Bars and gets up undaunted and she's not a chiseled career athlete. Anyway, I've watched the ending 3 times and Bhops was at it AGAIN. He wasn't complaining about his back, nor his head. He was saying the he hurt his ankle, "It's throbbing" "It hurts" "I can walk but I can't move around..." With the same crybaby face of before he whined, "he pushed me" just like my kids used to say. He DIDN'T hit his ankles. From what I saw his ankles were IN THE AIR as he feel! He was making all kinds of excuses, trying to convince all those commission guys, Doctors, reporters... Raise the volume and listen well for yourselves, he knew he had no other way out. As for the official scoring, a joke! I don't always agree with Lederman but I did this time, round for round. Kellerman was hugging Bhops nuts throughout, sickening. Lampley as well, but to a lesser degree. Russell made a fool of himself having Bhops ahead. Time for him to get it together or retire along with Bhop. There's no denying that Hopkins has had a magnificent career. He was boring for the most part, relied a lot of intelligent fouling, shrewd bullying, not one to abbey by the rules.. but that's all part of what made him great. He was special and EXTRAORDINARY in every sense of the word. But.. he sort of went out like a Sammy "The Bull" Gravano. This could be the one fight many fans will remember most. Not because he lost BUT.. by the way he carried on after going through the ropes. If he had just refrained from 'sore losing' and watched the tapes and later admitted defeat nobly it would've been a GREAT way to enter retirement regardless of the loss. No, I'm not big Bhops fan, but not a hater. I recognize greatness, his greatness. Peace to all."
Joe hit him with some monster bombs. He had 20 seconds to get back in. He didn’t make it. End of fight, In fact, he was lucky he did not get back in there.
A rematch would be like authorizing a “killing”. Hops is done and has been for some time. The way he was taking those short steps around the ring was painful to watch but reflected the fact that once again, you don’t beat Father Time.
He has always been a sore loser and whines more than JMM. or Duran. That didn't change last night.
Sorry old Hopkins is a cheating SOB he has fouled and play acted his way through fights.
Only in America would you put up with his dirty style of fighting .
He is bloody crap to watch and the SOB cost me £100.
