Re: Best stamina in Boxing..
Paul Williams had good stamina. 1000 punches in a fight is pretty impressive for anyone.

Yes, he did. It was really something for a welterweight. That's a ton of punches and energy exerted.
Not only a welterweight a 6'1 welterweight with a reach of 79" too! That's a tremendous amount of energy to use.....and to think he was getting ready to fight Canelo, probably could have beaten him too but who knows maybe that Martinez KO would have been the end of him as a top fighter.
Maybe not in terms of punch output but Emanuel Augustus, Willie Pep, Pernell Whittaker just for movement, that takes a ton of energy to move the way those guys did. And Pep, holy fuck, to box 1956 rounds in a career is insanity and especially when you consider he was in a fucking plane crash and had a broken back about halfway through as well!
Sugar Ray Robinson boxed 1399 rounds
Roberto Duran boxed 821 rounds
1956 rounds is 5868 minutes which equals 97.8 hours which equates to just about 4 days long.....and that's not counting sparring or training or amateur bouts but just time in a professional ring
I mean that's a fuck ton of fighting

Thank you. He was an unsung hero of boxing.Once threw 180 punches in a round I believe and he once said, "It's hard to counter a 3 minute combination".
Dorsey was a buzzsaw. His biggest flaw was his flesh. He was so prone to cuts I believe he had surgery to 'shave' down bones under eyes. You ever see the Zack Padilla vs Ray Oliveria fight? Padilla was a sad case of what 'should have been' but a non stop punching machine. Both were involved in punch stat records more than once.

what about Carl The Cobra Froch?

I am disappointed you have offered him as an example of good stamina. A good chin, yes but not stamina, he did really well against Pascal and Kessler but was slow and low output against Taylor, Groves and others.

They did not, they got chinned.
