Both these dudes are class acts when you get down to it. Good atmosphere
Bosting first round, Santa Cruz took that one as he was in control with the jab for the first 2 minutes, Frampton had more success when they were toe to toe
Frampton unable to set the traps, without the big shot early it could be a long night for Carl
shot for shot Frampton can turn this at anytime. Leo might get stuck between styles and caught here. Don't think he has the legs to play this long boxing over time
Leave it up to fuck face Mauro Ranallo to plug mma during top tier boxing match unfolding live before him.
Is Paulie on strike?
I'm giving it to Santa Cruz at the minute, by a few rounds as well.
Good fight again
Bayliss has had an easy night tonight hasn't he
Santa Cruz definitely looking the more tired of the two
Shane just told Frampton he's a round down
Looking like a trilogy. Santa slowing like.
Wow, sky is awful. Watched Cruc land 4 straight punches with no reply and they don't even mention it haha
But "good agression from Carl, nothing landing" is worth commenting on haha
I'm not seeing where they are getting 'it's so close, so very very close, absolutely nothing to seperate the two at all'
Yeah, sky is crazy biased. This isn't very close
Yeh man Frampton must go for it. Think it's Leos to lose, controlled inside and outside most part but still leaves himself in lurch. Santa Cruz up'd the boxing game
Frampton not going to win this. Maybe doesn't even get the third fight.
Fix might be in, Dan Rafael has in even, WTF?!
'great uppercut from Frampton at the end of what was a Santa Cruz round'
I'm guessing that is Sky's way of saying that they are giving the round to Frampton based on the uppercut
Honestly near 7-5 or 8-4 Santa Cruz all in all. Frampton seemed to handcuff his own punching especially when close? Did pretty much what he wanted to do all 12 rounds and maintained real estate, constant pace in and out.
Trump almost built his wall around the judges tonight..whew!
Jesus, I don't know how you can stand them "Frampton walks into a right, but I like the way he's coming forward" even a flush right hand for Santa Cruz gets credit to Frampton. Insane
This is when you realise that the Warren Way might be a better career move. A bunch of fights knocking over cans in Belfast might be better than going to the US and running into somebody like Santa Cruz. And just like that he wins.
Seriously, how the fuck do you come back from this if you're Frampton? Frampton now has one big fight left which he'll lose and thenn he's back to fighting in Belfast anyway.
Good result, I wanted Frampton to win but I'm glad the right man won on the night.
Santa Cruz surprised me with that performance.
Leo won that clearly fuck a 114 114
Insane to watch two guys like this feel they need to 'apologize' for anything here. Good scrap again. 3rd is a natural
Fair play to Frampton, he got beat and he admitted he got beat, no excuses, had a good camp and the better man won.
A few other brits should take note of that, we don't usually handle defeat all that well.
Right I'm fucking off back to bed for an hour
Both are class acts. Hats off to both guys
I'll be honest, Santa Cruz surprised me. I did not think that he could box that well or even be disciplined enough to continue doing it throughout the fight. He won comfortably.
Frampton was a class act after the fight. So props to him. A third fight is a must.
;D
Done that a few times before!
Good clean fight and Cruz deserved the decision and surprised me with his tactics which were bang on.
Frampton seemed to not know whether to stay in close or at range and was getting picked off too much, i'd have liked to have seen him make that a war and stay in close to counter the Cruz tactics.
Shane McGuigan should have been screaming at him that he needed the KO before the 12th started but did the total opposite which I found strange but maybe Team Frampton had the rematch in mind by that stage?
The Atmosphere at the MGM was full on party mode too, both sets of fans were more like football fans and brought the noise.
Hope the 3rd fight is in Belfast
I was surprised Santa Cruz changed it up, looked a much neater fighter than in the past, just using his range more made him a deserved winner, even though it was close. Quality operators in and out the ring. Wouldn't be surprised if it swung back to Frampton in the rubber match.
Mikey Garcia looked P4P cracking an unbeaten granite chin. Looked a long tough fight beforehand
Watched the fight this morning thought Cruz did extremely well with his reach n range very disciplined bit like Frampton in the 1st fight, had Cruz 3 rounds up, respect to Carl after the fight, if Cruz boxes like that again in fight 3 the Jackel is in trouble.
I heard Johnny Nelson criticise Shane saying that he was telling Carl what is was doing wrong but not telling him what he had to do to win.
Does that mean that Shane is a bit over rated and when it comes to handling the big fights he does not have a plan B?
I have watched the fight and I had it a draw. I did not enjoy the fight at all and there was a lot of missing and inaction early on which is where Cruz supposedly won the fight.
Frampton finished stronger and should have forced the fight throughout the contest. Carl would have made Cruz revert to type and out boxed him.
They should not bother with a 3rd fight yet and meet at a later time if they need it.
