OSCAR - MAYORGA ; Who Will Win ?

Exactly! This is not some dumb old school Karate movie where the teacher teaches the pupil almost everything he knows. Look at PBF. Does it look like there's anything he doesnt know about boxing?

Mr. Nightmare must've taken his Genius pill today. Because everything he's saying makes perfect sense.

I see Oscar taking Mayorga out in the same round as Tito or earlier. afetr all De La Hoya is better then Tito. Mayorga is tough but not too bright in the ring.

Remember, Roger was more successful than Floyd SR. Floyd Sr. IMO, is a better trainer, but Little Floyd has learned from both. Roger knows things that Floyd SR don't know. If Mosely beat Oscar, and Floyd is faster on his feet, and , Oscar is older, why would Floyd lose?

Hey she has something here, remember Oscar took out Genero Hernandez in 6 rounds where three years later it took PBF 8 complete rounds. and also Oscar destroyed and knock out Gatti in 5 rounds where it took PBF 6 complete rounds. so, my point is <as I know many are wondering, that DLH beat this guys in less time when they were younger. So he is better on knows a thing or two that PBF still does not know. So all in all Oscar is better and if they would have fought earlier Oscar would have taken him out. But even if PBF beats oscar, what does he prove then? nothing really except he can beat an over his prime Oscar.

Thank you man. You hit on something I been wondering about for some time. If Mayorga beats Oscar, does it mean anything? Or did he beat an OLD Oscar?

It means something, it means he has learned not to stick his head out there to get hit when he actually had a punchers chance. I like Mayorga I do but he is not too bright in there sometimes. He sometimes lets his emotions get the best of him and inturn he looses focus. And Oscar is too smart and wont loose focus.

Yeah, he has a temper, but that is what makes him who he is.

ODLH is not Vernon Forrest. Mayorga was able to beat Forrest because of his style. It was a bad matchup for vernon who doesnt fight great under pressure and makes mistakes. Say what you will about Oscar, but he has yet to be outclassed and he maintains his composure under pressure. Sturm, Hopkins, Tito, Shane, Quartey,Vargas all good fighters but NONE of these guys have outclassed him. Noone has. Some may have beaten him but it either a close contest or in the case of Hop, a size difference. So mayorgas only chance of a win is a knock out and DelaHoya recovers fast when he is hurt so a ko is not likely. Oscar has never been beaten up

We don't know if Oscar is "old" yet.

I don't think he is, or will be, for his next and presumably last two fights.

Just can't imagine a tired or "old in one night" Oscar. Will have to see it to believe.

Oscar will only be called "old" if mayorga beats him. But if DLH wins he's "in prime form ready for a title shot and the golden boy's back" :( Just like Tito was "back" before Winky handed it to him and then the announcers come up with excuses

Mayorga is gonna eat punches all night long. It's gonna be ugly and he's gonna keep taking it, because he can. Eventually it will have to be stopped.
