Re: Canelo fails drugs test
I definitely think he's "cheating,"... we remember when JMM beefed up and it was so obvious what he'd done that people became bored with the question. Unfortunately, the absolute semantic difference between taking a banned substance and taking a substance with the same net impact as a banned substance has become a billion dollar industry--Tiger Woods, Peyton Manning, Mark McGuire, so on....
but, to my earlier point--I went from 173lbs, 15-18% body fat to 195lbs 6-7% body fat in 15 months, on nothing but diet, supplements/protein&creatine, lifting heavy and often, and YOUTH, (most important lol).

But did he cheat? They all are IMO.

Apparently Canelo is even on record (according to Sky Sports Spencer Oliver)saying that he doesn't even eat that much meat in his diet.
Take a look at Canelos physical transformation over the past few years and this all looks like he's guilty as fuck.
This is not Tennis where using PEDs might make your backhand more powerful, this is a brutal combat sport where having extra strength advantages can easily result in the death of your opponent.

Haven’t heard about it. That’s awful if true. Too much pressure to be the main Mexican fighter in the world. Especially for not being that great.
Still no grounds to be a cheating cunt and potentially kill an opponent.
Titofan has always said that he has never made the weight legally.
Not saying he is justified by any means. Just saying that money talks and many people would be involved.

Re: Canelo fails drugs test
Anybody do any research? Does this tainted meat thing actually happen in Mexico. We're the levels consistent with what canelo had. I figure it's quite likely he was doping but don't know the specifics

It certainly used to happen, this is from 2011. The NFL, usad and so on warn guys to watch out for Mexican and Chinese beef. It is possible he accidentally ingested it but according to the anti doping authorities he should have to prove that was the case... Maybe he did but I don't know. If it was accidental then canelo and his cooks are dum dums, it is a well known issue and why would he be buying beef from dodgy farmers the guy is rich and getting tested for a very big fight....

It's a tough stretch to believe that the elite of the elite are all wide eyed babies and do not understand what they are doing, isn't it? It's all too common in this very dirty and not properly regulated sport. It's shocking really considering how dangerous boxing is. I would like to see Canelo banned and to hell with the rematch, Golovkin won the first one at a canter anyway. He has nothing to prove. Screw Canelo for even wasting GGG's limited time left in making a rematch take so long and to then prove positive for a banned substance! He is horrible. GGG has a duty to knock him the fuck out.

Re: Canelo fails drugs test
Well this is unpredictable..... as well as being Lance Armstrong he's now been hiding bricks in his gloves and "cheating" by weighing the exact same as his contract stipulates. ;D

Until the alphabet soup, VADA, the commissions etc all get on the same page and put in place strict rules then the circus will continue to roll on.

In obvious news, Canelo has now tested clean on 2 tests since the failed one.

Yes, Exactly... ROberto Garcia has said pretty much the same thing. With the money Canelo makes per fight, hes not relegated to getting meat from the bottom level provider.

Well we don't test every piece of meat we eat. I'm not exonerating the guy just thinking. If it was tainted beef it would suck as it will always be on his legacy, if not, he should be banned

I agree... I'm not saying he deliberately juiced up but I'm saying the doping now is not like the doping before. The guys that used to juice before, did it to coincide with the time they were meant to perform which is why they got caught so often.
Now the typical fighter looking to get that edge does it in the start of training or cycles before training so they reap the benefits during training (muscle growth, quick repair/ rest, stamina for longer conditioning that a clean fighter is not able to. This may also be why we have this hemming and hawing over contract signings now a days and then all of sudden, bang the guy signs the contract a month before the fight rather than 3. Because the doping agencies cant start testing you until the contract is signed. By then you've had a chance to do your own test and make sure you test clean enough. I say clean enough because there isn't a zero tolerance rule for some things like clenbuterol or testosterone, you just have to test within the highest tolerance allowed. So if there is someone out there in his 20's that is a genetic freak knuckle dragger, bulked up , cut and has 5 o clock shadow on his eyeballs, its abnormal but natural, the range is adjusted so he's the high end. Now all the guys boosting their testosterone are measuring in at the level of the genetic freak but it still legal as long as they don't test positive for the booster or a masking agent.
So the cycles already done, the muscles already been acquired, the stamina levels raised, and repair agents have allowed them to work out every day rather than every other day. They cycle off and continue training to maintain the muscles already built, keep the fat off, and endurance high. Their body's undergone a physiological change which allows them to do so without the same amount of effort (for a limited amount of time) but PED itself is already fading away. (remember the only way roy jones was able to get down to light heavy for the tarver fight after bulking up naturally with mackie schillstone, was to eat nothing and run so his body would start feeding off the muscle-- which left him weak and drawn with no energy... Continuing to weight train with less food wouldn't do it, neither would eating the same with training less)
If it does indeed boost performance, one has to wonder if the tainted cow is by design. The research I posted previously says the animals break the clenbuterol down into similar compounds (maybe these are more natural or not tested for) and most of the clenbuterol builds up in the organs of the animals. The ingested tainted beef clenbuterol is obviously allowed to a certain degree and similar safer compounds that are also ingested could be the intended results and they are essentially filtering these substances through the cows to make them safer and reduce them to passable levels.
-
Re: Canelo fails drugs test
Never thought of that, but that is some next level thinking...
We have more than 50+ years of proof that hormones, antibiotics, fertilizers, and even what the animals eat impact us... so, because we also know that the body only accepts/uses about 30% of fortified foods/supplements, (rice, vitamins, supplements--all of it--most of it you don't use), I wonder if passing them through animals would be a better delivery system?

Is that actuaĺ fact that boxers can't be tested until they are contracted to fight?
That's fucking insane if that's the case, in most sports (football in the UK for example) they can turn up or call you in to be tested 24/7 - 365 days of the year.

Re: Canelo fails drugs test
Yeah, they're all cheating... (if they can afford it).

Re: Canelo fails drugs test
A cheat's a cheat, no matter how you slice it. Too many great fighters have gone to great lengths to avoid being caught up in cheating controversy, for us to believe any cockamamie excuse thrown at us by cheaters. The tainted meat problem in Mexico is well known and well documented. Canelo and his team, who I'll assume have at least average IQ's, MUST know that this is a potential issue and could come up at any moment. Knowing that, you avoid certain situations. Money in this case is no object. So to be caught with your pants down and claim tainted meat rings hollow. Then again, I'm not surprised.

I know that the WBC has their so called clean boxing program where the top 15 fighters in each division have to enroll for year round testing. I'm not sure if Canelo is enrolled or not due to his spat with the WBC prior to the 1st GGG fight.

I'm no expert and would appreciate anyone with extended knowledge on subjects opinions but I'm sure you can cycle out a lot with IV infusions.

You mean pull a Mayweather, though strictly for rehydration purposes surely. Of course. And your exemption comes after the fight takes place :-X.

I wasn't exactly referring to that, but yeah kinda. For over a decade or more there has been talk of cycling off PEDs to avoid testing, all the cycling stuff etc, using IV's has to speed up the cleaning out process, no?

Victor Conte, on Steve Kim's podcast, said by time they get to the testing stage they've weaned off the drug, what's being found is the remnants. I know this is isn't about Floyd but he called his image of a "clean fighter" a facade, as he'd never once been tested out of competition when the drugs are actually being used.

So does anyone know of Canelo's status in the WBC clean boxing program? Was Canelo fighting for the WBC title this time? Or when his first test was conducted since the last fight?

Sulaiman has backed Canelo 100%, claiming he's part of the "clean boxing" program, has never failed before so it's all a bit of a mixup.
Micky mouse.
-
Re: Canelo fails drugs test
Yea I heard that the WBc were claiming he was innocent. Because he's been clean before he can't be dirty now?
I heard that with the clean boxing programs, fighters are tested during camp, and they can be tested at random year round, but that this rarely happens. With the WBC, some fighters like Golovkin, Ward, Donaire pay extra money to guarantee that VADA will test them, without notice, on a regular basis, so everybody knows they are clean.
-
Re: Canelo fails drugs test
Conte said it's as little as $20,000 a year to guarantee out-of-competition testing, which makes a mockery of the multi-millionaires claiming to be leaders in "clean boxing."
-
Re: Canelo fails drugs test
Apparantly Canelo has been temporarily suspended by the Nevada commission.
-
Re: Canelo fails drugs test
I've also heard that this mean Canelo can't even train in the US.
-
Re: Canelo fails drugs test
-
Re: Canelo fails drugs test
Honestly thought this was breaking news today and bit disappointed now ;D. This 'suspension' really smells like cya, you might as well be putting him in time-out for two weeks with a pat on the bottom. Fans and venues get screwed while they wait in limbo not knowing if it's a go. Really mishandled all around.
-
Re: Canelo fails drugs test
Yea the hearing is supposed to be April 10, do they keep training? Personally I think it's damage control, so it looks as if the commission is doing something. Too much money involved for everyone to go without.

Looks like all it is, still trains and way too much money riding to even hint they cancel it. It's a ruse. They're totally ignoring the precedent here given the status and pomp of Canelo. Or maybe Sulaiman just needed a lab rat.
-
Re: Canelo fails drugs test
There is too much pressure to let it go but too much pressure to halt the fight. So they have to act like they are doing something to punish him but let him go free.
-
Re: Canelo fails drugs test
Can’t be fucked with this bollocks. Just cancel the whole fucking thing! I can see it now, the fight will go ahead , whoever loses has got a fucking bullshit excuse (unsettled because of all the doubt etc.) and it’ll give this pair of cunts the opportunity to have a third fight. Meanwhile , the whole fucking division is in a state of limbo. Complete Bullshit.

Actually they're following precedent. Remember Morales testing dirty for the same? Fight went ahead then he was suspended. If there are any clean fighters they need to start speaking up because everyone else is only concerned with lining their pockets.

Because he’s waiting and waiting and begging for these pricks! He used to religiously fight 4 times a year and he’s well into his thirties and time is running out. He should fight Jacobs, fight Charlo , fight Saunders, fight any fucker that is relevant in the division. Canelo isn’t relevant at MW, he’s only fought at the actual weight once and he don’t hold any belts.
GGG used to be all about wiping out the division . Canelo doesn’t figure in that equation one bit. And don’t start me on his mouthy twat of a trainer , who spews out nearly as much horseshit as Oscar!
I like GGG as a bloke, but he’s letting himself down, and his team are letting him down.
If he distanced himself from Clenbelo and went after the others, Team Clenbelo would have nowhere to go, and deservedly so!

A part of me wishes he wouldn't contribute to Clenbelo's (cute, by the way) coffers also. But right now, distancing himself from Clenbelo would be viewed as running, and Team Clenbelo would have a field day with it. No... he needs to put a nail in the Team Clenbelo coffin by knocking the tainted meat out of Ginger, and then go about his business. Unfortunately, Father Time is always standing by, which of course is what Team Clenbelo is always counting on.... any advantage it can find. GGG's only sin (if it can be viewed that way) is angrily calling out Clenbelo as a cheater, something that should come as no surprise to anyone who has observed the antics of both Ginger and JCC Jr. Unfortunately, the first fight was controversial, as in GGG didn't knock him out and left it up to the judges... so now GGG hardly has a choice and pretty much has to put a period on that sentence.
-
Re: Canelo fails drugs test
I'm with Primo, GGG won the first fight everyone in the world knows that, fighting Jacobs, BJS and Charlo would have done a lot more for his legacy than beating Canelo again, and with the whole drugs thing it makes whatever the outcome even more irrelevant.
Unfortunately it's all about the $$$
-
Re: Canelo fails drugs test
Agree that this is posturing by the NSAC. Its a good boy act to seem impartial after the f*uckery was laid at their feet last time because of the crooked judge and GGG is so vocal about it now. So they're trying to disconnect themselves from controversy this time because being involved in too many controversies will probably get them investigated (Probably under the RICO act because its so broad). So they suspend Canelo with a side note to keep training as usual and all will go as planned once the hoopla dies down. The upcoming (insert inflated number here) tests will all come back clean and then Canelo will be cleared and the fight will go on. GBP will try to capitalize on the controversy in the mean time to put butts in seats after watching Bob Arum. If not, at least battle the negative publicity with positive publicity.
Ive never seen team GGG this vocal but one thing i did find interesting is that Abel Sanchez, revealed the Canelos trainers used to be butchers. That combined with the statement from Roberto Garcia that Canelo wouldn't be getting his meat from some questionable source like a poor fighter might have to, kind of raises my suspicions even further. I personally don't see GGG knocking Canelo out this time and putting all the big drama to bed. He'd have done it last time after waiting so long for the fight and then being bent over in the disparity between rematch clauses (Canelo gets a rematch if he lost but GGG didn't). That should have been enough to knock the freckles off that kid . Maybe he'll have more of an opportunity this time with Canelo having to take more chances to do enough work to win rounds, but I think everyone since Jacobs knows weight bullying is the key to countering GGG's power. Would rather seen a Saunders unification and then retirement.

Forget retirement, take on the young guns.
