Koichi Wajima would come in there to turn Munguia over his knee. Sounds like Munguia already plotting his jump to 160
Mon the japs!...
Munguia apparently said he's only got one or two more at 154 and is really struggling to make weight (wot a surprise).. I don't think 160 lbs will be kind to munguia he gets away with a lot due to his size, still young though so hopefully he improves his defence I find him a load of fun to watch.
Looks like munguia is just sparring here which is good for a young fellow, not really a contest though.
He'll be fun while he lasts Munguia and glad he's not going all cave man in his showcase here. He'll step it up breaking him up, Thurman started out by sparring Lopez too. The Japanese fighters are always a pleasure and bring the fire, always. Inoue trying to stake a claim but getting pasted

Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Japanese boxing is great but their style really only works at the lower weights, it makes for fun watching but jimeny Christmas inoue is taking a lot of damage.. japs are maybe the best in the world for absorbing punishment and just keep on coming.

Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Gave Munguia the 5th.
4-1 Munguia.
Inoue's got nothing when Munguia comes forward throwing.
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Munguia is really going for it now, he's landing some good damage but also tiring himself, despite my initial scepticism this is actually a good learning fight for munguia, jap git can take the damage and come back, munguia is massive though so he should be safe here.

Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Inoue's a tough kid, soaking up these shots. 6th was close. Gave it to Munguia.
5-1 Munguia.
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
7th could have gone either way. Gave it to Munguia.
6-1 Munguia.
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Inoue wins the 8th.
6-2 Munguia.
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Munguia really has a long way to go, he's still young though, but he's been pounding the jap and inoue goes and lands two ro three rights hands in the clinch.
I think for his long term career munguia needs to get out of 154 now, he's getting away with so much by being huge. I think he has potential though, he's powerful and his body hooks are lovely, needs to set em up better or time em better.
Well done to inoue for taking a poundone and keep on coming and hitting him
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
I'm surprised at the movement and box and get out by Munguia. Smart but not all his choice and raises questions moving up
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Really good hooks from munguia in the ninth to the body there, even honorable brave samurai inoue nearly went down there... very good match making here, I feel like a plum for mocking inoue... munguiaS winning here but I put it partly down to thearth size difference.
God bless the japs, gotta love em
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Gave Inoue the 9th, in another round that could have gone either way.
6-3 Munguia.
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
We've all seen fights from Texas where the guy coming forward has been outboxed and the Texas judges give him the fight although it's always the hometown fighter. If Munguia slows down a bit more and Inoue keeps coming this could get interesting. Inoue is taking some punishment though. That bodyshot that made him wince. :)

Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Oh oh bad signs for inoue... I now love this jap git... some of the hits were quite after the bell... Ref should have a word there.
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Both beating the absolute crap outta each other that round. Munguia looks fleshy and tired but Inoue has big onions. The man is in his chest to win
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Munguia almost dropped Inoue near the end of the 10th.
7-3 Munguia. Excellent round.
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
11th was close. I gave it to Munguia.
8-3 Munguia.
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
:appl: really fun scrap. New fighters rise to the occasion and new fighters show they have a game plan. Quality! Annnd now the scores. Ok..and fook you 120-108!
-
Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
12th close again. Gave it to Munguia.
117-111 Munguia.

Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Well done inoue I mocked this fight I was incorrect, I think munguia has won a clear decision here but bloody hell the jap is togh and good.. I actually think this was munguias toughest opponent, inoue did more damage than smith for sure... really worrying for munguia that at one stage they were toe to toe in a half clinch and inoue just comes over the top with a right hand and munguia takes it , does nothing, couple of seconds later inoue does exactly the same thing :S..... wide scorecard win for munguia for me. But problems problems problems...
I thiNK munguia needs to vacate go to 160 next and keep learning. .. I think he might be cashed out v alvarez soon though... he's still undefeated and is in danger of being exposed. ..

Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
120-108, 119-109, 120-108
UD Munguía.

Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Well munguia won wide, fair enough, worrying that the problems are the same as his fight v smith... he still has a poor defence, doesn't set up his assualting so well. Not a good sign that he's faced the same problems. :S he's still young though and I'm not basing this on a long history of his fightS. .. he's not going to be the next big star though in my opinion.

Wrong Rincon. John Rincon won a four round decision. There were 3 Rincons on the show last night. To add to it, John Rincon fought as John Torres when he debuted on the Saucedo vs Hooker show.

Re: Jaime Munguia vs. Takeshi Inoue
Awesome fight. Inoue fought great. I had Munguia winning 8-4. The problem is that Munguia is young and can take punches now, but we have seen this this story before. I wouldn’t be shocked that by the time he is 26 or so that he is basically done as a fighter. Most fighters can’t handle that many wars. Munguia needs to make all the money he can while he is popular because soon enough he will be getting knocked out

Could he be called a bigger version of Brandon Rios?

I think he is a bit more refined than Rios. Rios would never back up like Munguia did. He reminds me of a mix of Canelo and Angulo. A complete brawler that does have a hint of boxing skill.
