The Pin might want to start thinking about something else. Pulling for Allen.
Slow first round from both. Too cagey from Allen and Price just pawing with the jab in the first round.
Price 1 nil
Allen landed a good uppercut in the 2nd round but Price landed sold jabs to win the round.
2 nil
Allen is eating punches and not slipping anything. He better start working.
3 nil
Allen enough uppercuts and right hands to win 4th round but not a classic fight .
3-1
Allen putting more pressure on but Price landing the better work.
4-1
Price looking tired but winning the 6th round and the fight so far.
5-1
Price landed some good uppercuts in the 7th and jabbing Allen's head off. He is fighting at his own pace.
6-1
Price is comfortable and Allen is lacklustre in the 8th round who is cut.
7-1
Not sure Ive given Allen a round yet, and all of his work is pretty ugly. Still wouldn't surprise me if he found the off button, but he doesnt appear to have a lot behind his shots and hes always swinging up. good for Price if he can last the distance, got to be a huge mental victory for him.
Ah well, it was a fun ride whilst it lasted, we all knew that Allen would come unstuck before long
Allen needed a knockout, and Price wins the fight with Allen retiring.
Whyte kind of looks like he went on the snickers diet for this one:confused: Might not mean anything at all, but if he’s not used to fighting with the extra weight its surely a bad plan against a guy who seems to fight at a slow pace.
Allen fights with his face and he's taken a lot of punches in all his fights.!
I never like to see a fighter take punch after punch it's not good for you brain I hope he packs it in leave with some brain cells.
I don't really think he has much choice but to pack it in,there isn't really anywhere for him to go, he's had a good run and its been fun to watch but it is clear that he can't step up that level, unless Eddie is happy to put him on at the bottom of the cards just fighting bums in fights with no meaning because he is a fan favourite there really isn't anything out there for him.
been taken to hospital after that one, they said it was just precautionary but hopefully it'll be a wake up call for him
Hmmm, those are pretty wide odds I think? If he could bet on it Id have taken a little stab on Rivas.
Whyte also indeed looks out of shape.... Maybe he isnt, but not sure what the extra pounds would help him with.
Whyte looks tight ,needs to loosen up.
Good round from both fighters who are both throwing big punches in the 1st round. Give it to Rivas but easily give it to Whyte.
Whyte wobbled Rivas with a big right hand in the 2nd round but recovered well.
1 all
Night and day first and second round. Whyte much better
Battle of the jabs in the 3rd round and less wild swinging from both. Give it to Whyte who landed a big right at the end of the round.
2-1 Whyte
Whyte controlling the 4 round with his jab and landing some good right hands against Rivas.
3-1
Rivas looking passive, wild and limited as Whyte takes the 5th round.
Whyte controlling the 6th round with his accurate jab and dictating the pace of the fight.
5-1 whyte
Rivas corner are telling him to do better because he is blowing the fight.
Rivas trying harder in the 7th and pushing Whyte on the ropes but Whyte still in control.
6-1
Id probably give Rivas the 7th, but yes Whyte still the ring general.
Whyte landing tasty body shots in the 8th and a big uppercut at the end which hurt Rivas.
7-1 whyte
Rivas lands a big uppercut in the 9th and knocks down Whyte early in the round.
Whyte fighting back hard and Rivas looks shattered
7-2
Whyte coming out hard and aggressive in the 10th round and Rivas taking heavy punishment and his hands are low because he is exhausted.
8-2
Whyte schooling Rivas in the 11th with jabs, right hands and it is closing Rivas eye.
9-2
I think Rivas is too tired to pull anything out, hes tough as nails and all heart though.
Whyte boxing like Larry Holmes with an excellent jab in the last round.
Rivas got nothing left in him to knock out Whyte except the illegal use of his head.
Think he hurt Whyte at the end but too little too late.
Definitely a throwback fighter
I dont think Whyte was hurt hurt at the end, but the ref made sure it couldnt matter anyways, hate that in principle. Great show from both guys, probably Whytes best win.
Whyte wins UD
Interesting to hear people say Whyte was jabbing like Holmes and it’s his best win. I’m reading in other places he looked out of shape with a sloppy jab. The reason I am incapable of ignoring any fights haha, have to see who is right
I thought it was a bit sloppy myself against a much smaller fighter with no real output. I think Wilder will be licking his lips at that as Whyte is right there to be hit and someone like Fury would just dance around him all night. I see him as a level below. He is on the Joshua level.
Ignore the Holmes point, Master got carried away doing the Rbr I think;D overall its somewhere in between. What else would his best win be? Parker is a better name, but Whyte might not have lasted another round, guess best performance is what I meant.
Rivas absolutely had an output, he was just paying for what he threw because his timing was always the same, as Paulie kept saying. He took a lot of shots and kept throwing despite being countered for the whole fight, he was obviously in great shape and wanted it bad. Would like to see him vs Chisora or Pulev, something at that level.
I don't think his output was enough. He waited far too much and was too defensive for large portions of rounds. When he let go he did throw in combination, but along the way he was giving up rounds as Whyte did have better and more effective output. He was pretty much just outworked.
