And I don't want to make a political point but it's not a coincidence that season 3, after a decade gap in this current climate, portrays all the black single mothers as angels, the drug dealer loving dads/guardians as "hustling a living" whilst white people are to blame for everything and untrustworthy devils (even the poor skagheads were wronguns). And all whites outside London are racist as hell. Good stuff though.
A lot of whites outside London are racist as hell. I know I live amongst them (:
No Asian racists though. Not just in Britain. Nowhere in the world are there any racists Asians. I have it on good authority from ...................

man man :-X
I can assure you Asian people of all description (not just Bruce Lee) are the most racist towards black people i've ever come across. And yes there's lots of white racists in London too... they're called East Europeans... and geriatrics.
No you are Wrong. When I told Gandalf that some of the most racist things I have ever heard, came out of the mouths of Asians, he assured me there were no Asian racists in the world and also assured me I did not know any Asians. So my Asian step-mother of almost 40 years is obviously just a figment of my imagination. ;D
( She is not a racist by the way )
You seem to be hung up on this. I think there are no Asian racists? And no I do not consider your Asian step mother who lives where exactly an authority on billions of Asian people. Sorry about that.
I come across a new crop of hundreds of Asians every year and in work and in society don't see much of this racism. However, as I pointed out, some countries are very different to others and you are dealing with a lot of Asians.
It is true that most people of any race prefer to marry within their group though and that applies to any race, but most of the people I know are married to Asians despite not being Asian and the kids don't face many bullying issues or anything like that.
In London perhaps there is a reason why different groups are suspicious of one another. For instance the prison population is 14% black despite being only 3% of the population. It creates distrust and different communities tend to stick to their own in a multicultural society. If a certain demographic is more likely to carry out crime etc, then it breeds suspicion.
Edit: Blacks are 3% of the total population, so in London there are obviously a lot more black people and they make up a significant prison population at 14% of the national total. I am sure the genuine Asian prison population is much lower. Asians tend to have stronger families, better education etc, so if one group is not nurturing children and criminality is much higher then you can see why some among them might think negatively about sharing a city with those who cause a lot of crime and nurture less. I am sure some white bloke up in Rotherham doesn't think too highly of changes in his community too. Is it racism? Maybe, but that seems to be a natural consequence of unregulated multiculturalism.
So, I don't really see that as being beyond the pale in terms of attitudes. Al for instance has his views and Beanz would call it racist, but it hasn't emerged from a vacuum. Any group can be and is racist. In fact it is almost a badge of honor to move to England and not integrate. That too is terribly racist.
I don't see the argument, but Fenster seems on point to point out propaganda in television in the main post that kick started this.
-
Re: Last TV show/Box Set you watched? (Flag spoilers)
So, Beanz you have not said anything about TV and yet brought me into it to discuss racism.
See, you are addicted to shit stirring. This is a prime example of you being unable to just post without being a prat. Only a few days after last pushing it and you are back onto Asian and white racists and ME and all because Fenster saw some propaganda. You couldn't make it up.
I am watching The New Statesman as Rik Mayall is a legend. See, on topic.

Re: Last TV show/Box Set you watched? (Flag spoilers)
Ha!
Double down Gandalf.
Still.... 'There are no racist Asians and the Asians you know are not' proper' Asians'
'Being racist doesn't arise in a vacuum it is almost a badge of honor'
Next it will be
'When you lived or when you work in London it's not' proper' London'
(:
You even sound like Alan B'stard mate. Almost identical. Here he/you are
"Why should we, the country that produced Shakespeare, Christopher Wren, and those are just the people on our banknotes for Christ's sake, cower down to the countries that produced Hitler, Napoleon, the Mafia, and the the the, the the the, the the the Smurfs!"

I also posted it three days ago before Wally accidentally quoted it again in all non shit stirring innocence.

Re: Last TV show/Box Set you watched? (Flag spoilers)
So, no latest TV at all.
Of course I am doubling down when I think your mother in law sounds like a generalizing oddball. What Asians? There are dozens of Asian countries.
And my take on what Fenster said is that genuine oriental Asians in London might well have racist attitudes because of the facts of circumstances living in a place like London. I don't see much racism around me and that is because there are few tensions.
And I also argue that racism exists in every group. Apparently the most prolific users of racial language online are black people. However, I see it as no competition and think for every Freedom, or me, or Denilson, there is someone like you.

Why the go to troll to gandalf? I though we had those truce from 2 days in that past? And you! Also say me more trolling on Greta thread! Keep that peace please! So, my spouse is Laotian and so not any racist! You do generalise on Asia and racist, so, arrest that accuse to the people here!

Finished the French Netflix tv show, black spot, or French name zone Blanche, which as @Fatboxingfan (or anyone with a simple knowledge of French) will tell you is sort of the complete opposite.. I find that mildly amusing :S...
Anyway it's actually very good, quite a nice atmosphere about the whole show and it has some good reverse twists in it, it made a change from the normal stuff anyway. I think they could have made tree characters a bit better but overall i would rate it very good. Of course the second season ended with the annoying cliffhanger and apparently it did not get good ratings on French TV so a third season may not happen, maybe Netflix will take up the funding for it who knows...
Anyway I thought it was very good so much so that I bought kronenbourg today.

I should have known, fatboxing fan is creative accountant to the stars! (of France :S)... If gerard depardieu had you working the night shift he'd never have defected to Russia!
It is actually a good TV show though, I do recommend it... Trying some other no uk/USA shows on Netflix right now to see if they have something the English speaking shows dont(well except foreign languages:S).. Watched the fly st episode of some German TV show about the DJ whisynew label is like a drug dealer, has some brexit stuff too, they talk a bit fast for me to understand but first episode was interesting enough. I also forgot its name... And I am quickly realising This is a very pointless post.

Peaky Blinders series 5 - If there's ever been anything better than this drama I don't believe it (first season of True Detective aside). The mixing of real life characters with fiction is superb - Churchill, Mosley, fascists, toffs. It's worth watching just for the sets and soundtrack alone (Nick Cave).
100% on Peaky Blinders, My favorite character was the Jewish London crime boss.

God father of Harlem has been great.
Animal Kingdom... fucking wicked. Its based very lightly on an old matriarch bitch we get to see occasionally and hear a lot about (Kath Pettingill. They should make a true one about the Petingill crime family out here, her eldest son was literally the right hand man of the devil himself.

Watched most of that lost is space season 2 on Netflix. It’s corny and campy but for some reason you can get into it. Every time I see the robot protecting the kid saying “danger will Robinson” I think of me protecting miles. Miles had done so much for all of us, we are all indebted to him.
-
Re: Last TV show/Box Set you watched? (Flag spoilers)
A subtle swipe. Yes Miles has indeed. And stuck out his neck.

Re: Last TV show/Box Set you watched? (Flag spoilers)
Watched Season 1 of Tin Star. Proper wrong un ex London copper moves to Canada to escape his past yadda yadda, all the while an evil oil company has moved into his new patch to build a pipe or summat and start killing people who get in the way. Tim Roth, like it, Christina Hendricks (0)(0) Nice. Should have been really good, but it was all a bit meh! I kept waiting for it to proper catch fire when he started drinking again, I love piss head characters, even watched a bit of Stenders for a while when I knew Phil was a proper boozer. It never really did though. There were some funny bits, some dark bits, but not enough of either for me.
-
Re: Last TV show/Box Set you watched? (Flag spoilers)
Tin Star was downright weird. I didn't mind it at all. But what I don't like about some of these Netflix series is they sometimes end abruptly.... and then don't bother to put out a new season way until you've forgotten all about the series. :D
Currently watching Blacklist, and it has kept my interest.

Alright I'm just going to come out and say it. I've started watching Jersey Shore. I started watching the latest ones, then needed to go back to the start. I apologise. Where do I turn in my man card? If P4P the Best was here we could talk all about it.

The Staircase on Netflix https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0388644/
Ex army dude goes on trial for murdering his wife. He says she fell on the stairs. Later surfaces that another woman acquaintance of ex army dude also died in similar circumstances and he's also a closet bisexual. I love a bit of courtroom drama and loved this from start to finish despite not liking the ex army dude too much.

Re: Last TV show/Box Set you watched? (Flag spoilers)
Started Ozark on Netflix Sunday seems decent 1 ep in. Into 'Jack Ryan' which surprises me as I didn't see that Jim Halpert fella capable of pulling of some action series. He's basically the same dead pan dude just more violent and proficient in weaponry.

I’m watching this as well. It seems pretty good, I’m a little torn but it’s impressive that Superman is playing the lead I had no idea it was him till I looked it up several episodes into the show.

I agree, really seems like he is into it. I think I want to like the show more than I actually do but either way it’s very well done. Ps I have no clue about the PS4 aspect of it.

The Mandalorian - Awesome. Pure awesome. Loved it. The spaghetti western Star Wars should have been. Baby Yoda.
The Outsider - didn't think i'd like this Stephen King thing but it was actually a good thriller for a supernatural/religious/voodoo lark.

I will check out Mandalorian now that you recommend it.
I have been watching the old clone war cartoons because it has Darth Maul in as he survived being cut in two pieces.

For people who know the star wars story there's loads of connections/reveals about the films but this series is standalone great (if you like a bit of spaghetti sci-fi, of course).

Re: Last TV show/Box Set you watched? (Flag spoilers)
I'm now watching the Medici series, one episode per evening. I'll watch episode 3 this evening.
The cinematography and music are wonderful. Outstanding direction and cast, with mostly Italian and British actors. The screenwriting is okay so far.
I went through the two seasons of Knightfall the past couple of weeks. It is not on the same level of excellence as Medici. The acting and direction were okay throughout, but the screenwriting was poor during the first season. Then the producers brought in some people who had worked on the Spartacus series several years ago to help write the second season, and the result was that Season 2 was much better than Season 1.

Re: Last TV show/Box Set you watched? (Flag spoilers)
Tiger King - Only half way through it but had to put this here as a placeholder and ask......
America why did you NOT vote for this guy?!?!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_c...ature=emb_logo
OK so the program. Honestly, I only stuck with it because it was short. I got bored of it pretty quickly. Some series out there you become invested in a little, you care about what happens, you feel aggrieved or relieved when the verdict drops. This one, I didn't give a shit. For the same reason I didn't really enjoy the program. There was no light and shade, they were all nuts.....all of them. Every single fucking one of um.
I didn't care that one lunatic was potentially being fitted up.
Whichever way they brand it they were all doing the same thing. They were exploiting animals. I don't care if you call it a private zoo or a 'sanctuary', it's the same thing.
A bunch of crazy people doing crazy shit all filmed and handed to Netflix. Meh.
Joe's music videos were fucking epic though. I'll concede that much.

I've got a couple episodes of that hillbilly shit left. Amazed at how many Americans think it's hilarious and these people are off the scale weird... that's how most of you come off online with your hunting and shooting and "rights". No disrespect like.
And everytime the tigers/lions attack anyone it's like when I see clips of bull fights. Good. Kill the cunt.

I've never watched the US Office but generally, I find younger people prefer the US version. I know you're old as fuck Master but generally, that's what I hear.
The Blacklist - Only watched the first series so far. Former Navy bloke turns high profile criminal then turns himself in to the FBI with a list of the Worlds most dangerous criminals and he'll help them nail them in return for immunity. James Spader is brilliant as Red. Short episodes, 45 mins, which I like....but just to prove that I'm an impossible cunt, I prefer the 2 parters, gives a bit more space to develop the stories without being too wham bam.
I'd let Megan Boone fuck me up the arse with a strap on as well.

Yes there's a vast difference between hunting for food and exploiting animals. Telling people what to do depends on circumstances, right? Yes many people need to be told what to do.
As for Tiger King - take away the cruelty to animals aspect, it was a standard crazy American hillybilly show that Louis Theroux was doing 25 years ago.
