I think Golovkin will know it will be his last big fight and throw everything at Canelo to win. Which then sets up a 4th fight.....:-\

why was it that julio cesar chavez could do so well against hector camacho but not pernell whitaker?
the fighter that i want to see canelo fight is demetrius andrade.
I still can't get beyond Golovkin taking so much stick for pulverizing Martirosyan yet Vanes arguably gave Andrade his toughest fight to date. I tried to root for Boo Boo but at this point I think he's going to turn around after another 3,4 empty defenses and wonder how-why he let it all pass him by.
Vanes was small for middleweight and took the fight on shorter notice. He was also considered basically washed up by the time he fought GGG. Vanes was a solid fighter in his prime, but he was never great.
Andrade is very slick but is an absolutely atrocious finisher. It makes for a boring fighter. I do still think stylistically he gives Canelo problems. The issue is that he could in no way knockout Canelo and there is almost no way Canelo would lose on the scorecards.
I’m not sure if everybody’s scores, but I scored the fight 116-112 for Pernell. I actually didn’t think a draw was atrocious. I think Pernell deserved it, but I thought that there were enough swing rounds that you could score it a draw.
But as master said, Pernell was much better than Camacho.
whitaker had a move where he'd press down and twist on his front foot, and, really just vanish, i guess you'd have to say.
https://i.imgur.com/UxpY9mi.gif
that little twist on the front foot is what gives you that really sharp break away action.
https://i.imgur.com/njUyDnl.gif
thing is, when a southpaw does it, they go behind your back, and they really do vanish.
https://i.imgur.com/9k5hsry.gif
well whitaker was vanishing a lot that night, put it that way. he was doing another thing camacho was not doing. movement creates gravity. whitaker would pull chavez in, then set his feet and freeze chavez there, then pull chavez back out - kinda like a magnet changing its polarity whenever it wanted. he had this way of pulling and staying chavez when and where he wanted. watch the camacho fight, movement creates its own gravity, and all camacho could do was pull chavez in to him. and that chavez did well.
I think Saunders will surprise him like how Hatton surprised Tszyu. Then we can see the Callum SMith vs Saunders. Here is a look at Callum's last fight, which some felt was a close decision, I thought Ryder did well.
Would Callum be able to get to BJS?

I think you're giving Saunders too much credit, @NoSavingByTheBell
Saunders lacks the punch to put Ginger down, for if there is anything Ginger has, it's a great chin. Ginger knows that, so he'll fight accordingly. Which means pressure for 12 rounds.
It's academic either or. If it's a decision, Ginger wins. The only possibility of a Saunders win is by KO, and we all know that ain't gonna happen.
I assumed you mean Canelo? GInger aka Carrot(top), (for his hair?) BoJo has decepting power in his left uppercut, and Ginger is not use to fighting southpaw. It could prove out to be styles make fights.
Billy Joe Saunders hopes Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez fight can happen this year
Billy Joe Saunders would have been fighting Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez in Las Vegas last weekend for an estimated purse of $8 million had it not been for the coronavirus pandemic. Instead, the WBO supermiddleweight champion spent Saturday afternoon "playing cards on the farm with family" in Hertfordshire.
"I'm dealing with it and it is what it is... I just hope the country can get back to normal and I hope everyone stays safe," he told Telegraph Sport.
"The fights will come later in the year, but I'm staying in contact with my management MTK Global and I'm just trying to go on as many runs as possible and stay as fit and ready as I can."
Saunders hopes that the Canelo fight will still be a goer later in the year. "They’re keeping me informed. I know Eddie has to get a lot of dates together for fighters. I’ll let it go on through my management and they’ll get back to me. Less of a headache.
"At the minute the whole world has stopped, so it’s a bit easier to cope with," Saunders told Telegraph Sport. "It is what it is, you can’t moan on about it. Instead of fighting for the biggest prize in boxing in Canelo Alvarez, I’m sat down, chilling, playing cards on the farm. I dealt with it when it happened. It’s one of them, it’s completely out of control. Just got to get on with it, all you can do.”

Saunders also reiterated that he wants to donate to a domestic abuse charity after the incident which saw him pilloried several weeks ago. “It was one of those silly things I do. I’m sure the [Boxing Board] will do what they’re going to do, but whatever that is I’m still looking at domestic abuse foundations. I’d like to see the Board say ‘look, we won’t take it any further but we’ll let you put the video to good use’ because I obviously need to correct it and I will be making a donation.”
Saunders, and rival Briton Callum Smith, currently ranked No 1 supermiddleweight in the world, have also been called out in the last week by American Danny Jacobs, who is also promoted by Hearn.
“Danny is a great fighter and I’ve got a lot of respect to him. He just lost out on a big fight, same as me. He’s a great fighter, up there with the best, but he hasn’t got anything that interests me at the moment. He’s had his chances against Gennady Golovkin and Canelo. Let me have my chance. I’m sure Callum Smith will be up for the fight and I’m sure Eddie can make me and him.”

Nah mostly like will be an all_Brit Callum vs Saunders, just like = Tyson/Joshua. The kabosh has put on any interantional stuff, too risky this year. Unless empty stadium type venue, then OK yeah, it could happen.
Saunders is a world class twat though
Canelo Alvarez next fight: Mexican ‘seeking cheaper opponent than Billy Joe Saunders’ as surprise names enter the mix for September bout
Canelo Alvarez is reportedly exploring cheaper opponents than Billy Joe Saunders for his next fight.
Mexico’s pound-for-pound star was due to face the Brit on May 2, but the bout was scrapped by the coronavirus pandemic just days before it was due to be officially announced.
Plans are now being put in place for the return of boxing, including a September fight for Canelo.
However, it is not as simple as just rearranging the Saunders clash for a new date.
Alvarez will now potentially have to fight behind closed doors, meaning the event will lose out on millions of dollars in ticket revenue.
For his last two live gates, the 29-year-old generated $8.2million (vs Sergey Kovalev) and $8.7million (vs Daniel Jacobs).

When the fight was due to happen in May, Saunders was said to have agreed a purse of around $8million.
Therefore, according to BoxingScene, Canelo’s team are now exploring cheaper options in case he has to compete behind closed and lose out on the live gate.
One target opponent is said to be Anthony Dirrell, a 35-year-old former WBC super-middleweight champion who lost his title to David Benavidez last time out.
Another, according to Mike Coppinger, is Sergiy Derevyanchenko, a 34-year-old two-time middleweight title challenger who has only lost in close fights with Gennady Golovkin and Daniel Jacobs.
It is acknowledged that Saunders could still end up facing Canelo next, but if he is to return in September the chances of a fight behind closed doors appear high.

RIVAL Chris Eubank Jr EXCLUSIVE: I’m the biggest fight for Canelo Alvarez at middleweight, Billy Joe Saunders is a ‘lowlife’ and deserves to miss out
Chris Eubank Jr has told talkSPORT.com he is targeting a fight with Canelo Alvarez in the near future.
The 30-year-old middleweight and super-middleweight contender recorded the biggest win of his career in 2019, as he outpointed bitter rival James DeGale in London.
Following on from that victory, Eubank Jr dropped back down to middleweight for a bout with Matt Korobov.
The Brit won in frustrating circumstances as, after just two rounds, his opponent suffered a shoulder injury and could not continue.
Canelo was due to face Billy Joe Saunders on May 2, but the bout was scrapped by the coronavirus pandemic days before it was set to be officially announced.
Now, it’s understood that the Mexican is exploring other options for a possible bout behind closed doors.
https://talksport.com/wp-content/upl...60&quality=100
Eubank Jr told talkSPORT.com: “With Canelo, that is a fight that I’m gunning for and I’ve been saying it for the longest time.
“In an ideal world I would not wanna fight him in a non-crowd event, but that’s the question, do you take what you can get?
“I don’t really think I’m that kind of fighter, I’m the number one contender in the WBA so it’s not like I’m not there.
“It’s a tough one, because I do really want that fight, but I feel like the fans would get robbed, there are people who would want to be there to watch that.
“That’s an arena fight, a stadium fight. But again, I’m there to win the belts, I’m there to fight the big names.”
When asked if he’d potentially be willing to take less money to secure the dream bout, Eubank Jr replied: “I mean it depends how low you’re talking. I don’t know the numbers, I don’t know what they are offering or expecting.
“That’s such a huge fight, a hard fight, it’s not easy. It’s a dangerous fight so you want to be rewarded for it.
“As far as I’ve heard, my name is not in the mix for the ‘smaller’ option. I don’t think they would ever use me as a stepping stone for a bigger fight.
“I think I am the biggest fight in the middleweight division for sure, the most fan friendly option I think for Canelo.”
Upon hearing that his old rival Saunders may now miss out on his planned bout with Canelo, Eubank Jr had little sympathy.
He concluded: “That’s what he deserves, the guy’s a lowlife. He’s an extremely bad representative for the sport that we all love.
“Why should he fight somebody like a Canelo when he’s gonna go in there and try and survive for the money?
“That’s the type of guy Billy Joe Saunders is, so it’s a good thing he’s not.”

One thing that strikes me is how fighters nowadays would care about the money more than the glory. I'd fight for free if I could get a shot at the title, with or without an audience. But hey, times have changed.
Yeah of course you would . Because like Me , you’re probably shit. But if you were World class and you’d worked your bollocks off to get there, you wouldn’t risk your life for free.
Nothing wrong with knowing your worth.
The problem is , too many overvalue themselves due to the ridiculous money that’s been around at the top.
But after this pandemic I firmly believe that is all gonna change.
Btw. There’s a story breaking on social media that BJS has announced his retirement with a cryptic comment.
Eubank Jnr generally talks some bollocks, but there is something in his description of Saunders as a lowlife
Eubank is solid if nothing else, him and GGG would be fun.
a world title is a world title. The dream is the belt. A chance at that dream, for free or for peanuts, cannot and should not be turned down. I utterly disagree with Primo. On 2 things. We are not shit and neither is the idea to fight for peanuts for a title shot. CUZ ONCE YOURE CHAMP, CUZ, THEN YOU CALL THE SHOTS FOR FUTURE PURSES. HA!!!!!! How you forgot about that Primo. How you forgot about that.
BJS has one shot at beating Canelo.
Cold cock him, catch him early, first round, 2nd round tops. He needs to forget about winning a decision.
BJS has waited sooo long for Canelo.
Fight Smith.
How many more years do you want to wait?
Andrade is there as well.
Post covid..Get these fights made!
Neither Saunders or Eubank have much chance of beating Canelo imo, those two should rematch though.
Thinking about it what is actually up with DAZN. They're doing literally nothing. The only advertising they're showing are fights lined up for ESPN ???. Rather see him fight a Derevyanchenko than a BJS or Eubank.
Saunders pulls out of running to face Canelo in September
WBO super-middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders will not face Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez in a rescheduled title fight in September.
The pair had been due to meet in the ring in Las Vegas on May 2, but the coronavirus pandemic put paid to those plans.
Saunders (29-0) has withdrawn from discussions over meeting four-weight champion Canelo (53-1-2) on September 12 – the weekend of Mexico's Independence Day – due to an inability to train effectively during the COVID-19 crisis.
"I'm not ready [in] September. You can say to me, 'Billy Joe, a billion pounds, but you're not ready and you're going to get beat.' I would say keep it. Let me get ready, let me win and I will fight for free," Saunders told The Athletic.
"I'm nobody's stepping stone. I'm not another belt for Canelo. They want to try mind games; that don't work with me, I play the biggest mind games in British boxing.
"Would I like [Canelo's] business? I would love it. Do I need his business? No, I don't.
"I was going to be spot on [for May 2]. I was probably a couple weeks ahead of schedule, but it is what it is."
Of the situation he was in during lockdown, he added: "Every gym was closed, and my grandparents are very elderly, I live next door to them. There were a few [health] scares. 75 per cent of my time [was dedicated] to her, I couldn't leave the place, I had my kids every other day."
Saunders was reportedly set to earn $8million for the title fight with Canelo in May and was not impressed by the figures being suggested for a behind-closed-doors bout in September.
"If they think they're going to cut my money and cut me short, that's not going to happen," Saunders said.
https://s.yimg.com/it/api/res/1.2/J_...4c964ec981244a
"Considering he's getting $35million, they come to me for a pay cut in September? They want to get short notice and a pay cut. Why not him take a pay cut?"
A return in October to shake off any potential ring rust is planned before Saunders takes on a more high-profile opponent in December.
The 30-year-old would relish a chance to take on middleweight king Demetrius Andrade (29-0), who he missed out on a fight with in 2018 due to a failed drugs test.
"That's the fight I would want, I would love the fight. There's unfinished business with me and him," said Saunders.
"I think he's a non-top fighter. When it's gone his way he looks good, when not his way he can't get going. When I fight him, we both have skills. It'll be my heart versus his heart."
https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/sau...081610250.html
Right on, BJS. You tell 'em.
It looks to be he has gotten weak knees. Why can't he get ready by September, it is so far away still. Fighters can get in great shape in 8 weeks training.
Fighter after fighter is pulling out of Canelo fights. This has been happening for a while now, and every time it is about money. GBP is trying to cheat everyone and nobody is willing to play their game.
