I would have thought Canelo would have his lawyers prepare a watertight contract against Plant that he could not say anything to upset Saul.
I would also mention the loaded gloves.

Canelo is gonna beat the absolute shit out of him with his "concrete loaded" hand wraps & horse hair gloves when they get in that ring.
Not a good idea calling his mum names ;D
Canelo Alvarez reveals what sparked wild press conference brawl with Caleb Plant
Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez has warned Caleb Plant he is not on his level during their explosive press conference that saw the two come to blows.
WBA, WBC and WBO champion Canelo and IBF king Plant came face-to-face for the first time ahead of November’s super-middleweight unification showdown in California on Tuesday.
After exchanging some heated words, the Mexican shoved Plant across the stage. Plant responded by swinging a left at his opponent only for Canelo to dodge it and connect with a counter left before security swarmed the stage to break things up.
After the brawl, the press conference was finally able to get underway with tensions still high.
Plant at one stage referenced Canelo’s six month ban for a failed drugs test in 2018, almost sparking a second melee.
‘Keep laughing, mother f****r. You’re going to find out real soon. Mark my words, you b***h. [Canelo’s trainer, Eddy Reynoso) is a fat a** b***h and you’re a b***h, what the f**k are you going to do?
‘And you’re a drug cheat! … You’re a cheater! You’re a cheater! You got suspended for six months. F**k you.’
Canelo responded with: ‘You’re not on my level. and you will see on 6 November. You will find out, I promise you.’
Asked what sparked the brawl between the two, Canelo seemingly took offence to Plant’s use of the word ‘mother f****r. ‘
‘He can say whatever he wants to say to me, but not to my mom’ Canelo told Showtime’s Brian Cluster.
‘Because I’m gonna [knock] out everybody who say something to my mom. You know, and he swing first. I just push him, but he swing first. Then just, I do what I do.’
But in footage shared by Greg Rothstein of The Athletic, Plant strongly refuted those claims, having lost his own mother in 2019.
Pound-for-pound great Canelo has fought three times over the last 10 months, beating the previously undefeated Callum Smith last December before punishing Avni Yildirim in February.
The 31-year-old added the WBO title to his collection in May with a huge win over Billy Joe Saunders, forcing the stoppage shortly after an uppercut that broke the Briton’s eye socket.
Widely regarded as the best pound-for–pound fighter on the planet, Canelo has just one defeat on his 59-fight record – against Floyd Mayweather Jr back in 2013.
Tennessee fighter Plant is undefeated in 21 fights.

The PBC/Haymon did a number on team Canelo with the drugs stuff, that's the reason you need a top promoter, it's one thing Plant bringing it up but the MC too, lol. However, we saw what will happen in the fight. Plant was nearly on his back from the shove then got carved up by a counter left/right.
Caleb Plant suffered horrific family tragedies with losses of mother and 19-month-old daughter, but fought on to become world champion and is now facing Canelo Alvarez
Caleb Plant is a 21-0 undefeated world champion, and yet in reality he’s lost more than most fighters could ever comprehend.
From the outside, it would appear the rich, talented, well-spoken American has everything going for him.
‘Sweethands’ Plant is the IBF super-middleweight world champion
On the inside, though, he carries a deep grief having endured the worst fate that can possibly befall any parent.
Plant grew up in a small town called Ashland City, Tennessee and started boxing at the age of nine.
Through succeeding in his amateur career, he eventually escaped the clutches of poverty, criminality and substance abuse which surrounded him in his local community.
Caleb’s mother, Beth Plant, had a substance dependency problem and his family endured poverty like many in the town.
As a teen, Plant even found himself dealing drugs for his mother. Boxing was his way out.
Father Richie Plant constructed a shoddy gym in the hope of providing his son with the conditions to one day achieve a better life.
The boxing ring was marked out by tape on the ground and it was here where Caleb, now 28, first honed his skills.
As he came towards the end of his impressive amateur career – in which he had been a reserve for the USA’s 2012 Olympic team – Plant fathered a baby girl, Alia.
However, the 20-year-old and his 19-year-old partner at the time, Carman Jean Briscoe-Lee, were soon devastated by the news that she was fighting for her life.
Plant recalled in an interview with The Mayweather Channel: “Alia was born with an unknown medical condition.
“I had her blood sent off to do over 50,000 tests at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital which is probably the most prestigious children’s hospital in the world. Everything came back negative.
“She would have at least 150 seizures per day. There was not one day she would have under 150 seizures.
“There were probably a handful of times where I got to hold her and look at her and make eye contact where I felt like, ‘Wow, I think she sees me, I think she’s actually looking at me.’
“Maybe five times in 19 months. And the rest you could tell was like a blur, it was just foggy. She didn’t know where she was or who I was it seemed like.
“She had brain damage, she had zero motor skills, she couldn’t sit up, she couldn’t hold her head up, she couldn’t make a fist.
“She would randomly kick her leg here or there, but she couldn’t eat. She ate through a tube in her stomach.
“I gave her eight medicines twice a day, I had to cath her, I had to give her shots every day in her leg.
“She had eight doctors appointments per week downtown. There would be months on end that I lived and stayed at the hospital, even in my training camps.
“I would wake up, go to the gym and train, come back and spend time with her, go to strength and conditioning, come back and rest with her.
“I’d go home every couple days to get more clothes, then I’d come back. I’d go run downtown by Vanderbilt, I’d take ice baths at Vanderbilt in the bathroom.”
This sequence continued for Plant as he ended his amateur career and turned professional with Al Haymon’s PBC.
Carman had to leave her jobs to care for Alia 24/7 so Caleb’s income was vital.
He started on his professional journey in May 2014, just after Alia’s first birthday.
Having built his record to 5-0, Plant was off to a good start and scheduled to have his sixth fight at the end of January 2015.
Tragically though, Alia could not hang on any longer.
“I had a fight in Philadelphia and she was on life support again,” Plant explained, “I was struggling with the decision because she’s been here before, she’s always made it out.
“It was getting very scary with her on life support, she was barely able to stay afloat.
“When I woke up [the next day] things were actually getting worse, so they said, ‘Mr Plant we don’t think you should leave because, we know you’ve told you this a handful of times, but we’re telling you this time your daughter’s gonna pass away.’
“They told me that so I cancelled the fight.
“She was slowly going down and down and down and down and down.
“I went to her and I said, ‘This has been a long 19 months and I know you have to be tired. If you’re tired of this and you’re done, you don’t wanna do this anymore, then your daddy supports you and I’m gonna be right here.’
“Every time before it was, ‘No, this is not gonna happen,’ but I had that conversation with her and she just started going down.
“I got to sit there with her and she took her last breath. January 29 at 10:55.”
Alia Plant passed away in her mother’s arms aged just 19 months.
Remarkably, Plant was back in the ring just five weeks later, vowing to fight on and fulfil the world title promise he had made to his daughter before she died.
It took another four years, but in January 2019, his shot at glory finally arrived.
Rugged Venezuelan Jose Uzcategui was the IBF super-middleweight champion, fresh off an impressive victory over Andre Dirrell.
Plant was an underdog going into the bout, but stunned oddsmakers by flooring Uzcategui in the second round.
He repeated this feat in round four and, despite being staggered himself in the ninth, battled through to the final bell.
When the scorecards were read out, Plant was declared the winner by unanimous decision and the new super-middleweight champion of the world.
He dropped to his knees and sobbed profusely, letting out what appeared several years of suppressed emotion.
“I’ve worked my whole entire life for this, 17 years straight,” Plant said as he tried and failed to compose himself in his post-fight interview.
“I buried my daughter in the process of trying to get this belt.
“I promised her that I’d become a world champion and that I’d bring her this title, and that’s exactly what I’m gonna go back to Tennessee and do.”
Days later, he posted a picture to Instagram of him laying his world title belt on Alia’s grave.
Although the grief will of course never leave the bereaved father, this appeared to be a moment of peace for him, having fulfilled his vow.
Sadly this peace did not last long.
Little over a month later, in March 2015, his mother Beth was in an ambulance being transported to Emergency Medical Services for mental health concerns.
While in the vehicle, she became combative towards medical staff and withdrew a knife from her backpack.
They pulled over and called the police.
When a deputy arrived on the scene, she brandished the knife at him and moved in his direction.
According to the police report, “The deputy screamed many times for her to stop and drop it, she kept coming.”
The deputy fired his gun at Beth Plant who subsequently died at Nashville hospital. She was 51.
Plant was heartbroken once more, but used boxing as his escapism and again did not take long before returning to the ring.
He successfully defended his belt on the Manny Pacquiao vs Keith Thurman undercard just four months later.
Now he is back for the biggest fight of his career in an undisputed showdown with Mexican pound-for-pound king Canelo Alvarez.
The pair came to blows this week ahead of their super-middleweight clash in November with Canelo even drawing blood from Plant during their scuffle.
Canelo later claimed Plant had insulted his mother, to which the American responded: “You’ll never hear me talk about someone’s mother, kids or wife.”
And it’s not hard to see why – Plant has already fulfilled his promise to Alia by becoming world champion, and made his mother Beth proud, but he continues to fight on in search of ultimate glory… which is now not far away.

caleb begging to get hurt
Yeah in terms of the message Plant was getting across, which is a valid one and needs bringing up, the only way it sticks is if he wins. We're conditioned to ignore the handbags of press conferences and weigh ins. But if ever one was a perfect snapshot of what will happen on fight night this was it. Plant will be overpowered and carved up. Really hope I'm wrong.
Plant gets battered and so does any point he was trying to make, Buried in an avalanche of how great Canelo is.
Team Canelo is gobbling all this up. To the casual, it has transformed Plant into a legitimate opponent... maybe even a dangerous one at that. When Canelo sweeps the floor with him, it'll be seen as a great victory for Canelo, rather than the foregone conclusion it always was. Team Canelo can offer seminars in how to pump up a shitty opponent into a "threat."
just fight promotion
Caleb Plant 'confident' of causing an upset
Caleb Plant is adopting a siege mentality ahead of the fourth defence of his IBF super-middleweight title against Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on November 6.
Mexico's Canelo Alvarez is regarded as one of the greatest fighters of his generation, boasting a record of just two draws and one defeat from 59 fights, and is actually ranked two places above Plant by American outlet ESPN.
However, while Plant knows the odds are heavily stacked against him, 'Sweethands' certainly doesn't lack confidence heading into the biggest fight of his career.
"I know I’m gonna win this fight," Plant told 'The Last Stand' podcast.
"I’m confident as I’ve ever been.
"So like I said up there, I don't need you guys to believe it, I don't need you guys to support me or root for me, I've been doing it my whole life without people doing that.
"When the bell rings, can't none of y'all get in there for me anyways, so I don't need y'all [sic] to believe it, the only person that needs to believe it is me."
Indeed, Plant is trying to get under Canelo's skin by using every trick in the book.
For the most part it appears to be working as security had to separate the pair after a heated altercation during a press conference in Los Angeles.
"Just normal back and forth," he replied when asked what had prompted the Mexican to fly into a bitter rage.
"I'm going to beat you up, no, I'm going to beat you up, no, I'm going to beat you, no m-----------, no m-----------', but I guess he didn't like that.
"He got one on me, but I got one on him, his arm was bleeding because his arm hit my glasses right here, pushed my glasses to my face.
"Just gave me like a little cut right here, I don't even need stitches or like no surgery or anything like that, it's just like a scratch, but I didn't want it up there trickling down, so I put a band-aid on it."
Plant also ripped into Alvarez for testing positive for the banned substance clenbuterol in the past and branded him a drugs cheat.
"Because there's no room for that in our sport," he explained.
"He was saying, 'I think Caleb Plant's insecure', but isn't testing positive for banned substances insecure?
"Taking banned substances, isn't that insecure? Because taking banned substances doesn't stem from confidence, that stems from fear.
"Fear of not making weight, fear of your conditioning being this, or your power being this, it doesn't stem from what you think you can do, it stems from what you think you can't do.
"That's what banned substances stem from, that's why you take them, and I'm a clean fighter.
"I know that in my heart, and I've always been a clean fighter and I always will be a clean fighter, I'm not a cheater.
"That's one thing my dad has instilled in me since I was a little kid, we do not cheat, and I'm not a cheater.
"I feel like more people should speak up on it and I feel like I have the platform to do it so I'm gonna [sic] speak up on it and he got mad about it but if it's not true what's there to be mad about?"

Let's get this foregone conclusion over with, so Canelo maybe has to face a real opponent next time.
That undercard is really really frail for a main event that in all honesty feels much more like a formality and matter of ceremony. Anthony Dirrell ???. Wiped out two years ago by the legit top threat Benavidez who Canelo shows no interest in fighting and arguably off a loss in his last fight. Brilliant.
Honest question..anyone else feel like promotion and big wigs have basically conceded the night to another mma ppv? I envision Canelo again sitting on a couch waiting for their main event to end before coming to the ring. Hope not.
it's a pity canelo has had to take these guys out one at a time instead of some of them fighting each other
Canelo Alvarez has made three major adjustments for Caleb Plant clash
Canelo Alvarez's trainer Eddy Reynoso has revealed three key factors that the Mexican is aiming to improve including his defence and finishing instinct.
The 31-year-old will take on Caleb Plant in a huge undisputed super-middleweight tilt next month.
And the meeting will be another historic day for the pound-for-pound great's legacy, who will be looking to become the first undisputed super middleweight champion.
His award-winning trainer Reynoso has uncovered Canelo's plot to improve his defence, footwork and killer instinct ahead of facing a new rival.
“You know we have been focusing on three things during his training camp,” Reynoso told the PBC podcast.
“Number one his defence, number two his leg work and footwork, and number three his ability to work the body and finish up top.
“Really this training camp could not have gone any better, and we couldn’t be happier with the results we have got from Canelo so far.”
A tense start to their rivalry has already emerged at the press-conference with both Alvarez and Plant exchanging fiery words.
And the exchanges boiled over at the California press-conference, with a chaotic brawl causing the American to leave with a cut around his eye.
The violent scenes were sparked by a comment from Plant which the IBF champion later cleared up.
His opponent will go into the contest as favourite and is extremely confident of lifting the fully-unified crown with an early stoppage.
“It’s new for me to have this much bad blood with an opponent," Alvarez said at an open workout. "It’s very different from normal and it’s definitely the most animosity I’ve had with an opponent heading into a big fight.
Who wins the undisputed crown- Canelo Alvarez or Caleb Plant? Let us know your predictions in the comments section below.
“I’m sticking with my prediction of a knockout before round eight. The first couple of rounds will be difficult, but as the fight progresses, I am going to be able to get him out of there.
“I delivered the message I had to at our press conference. I don’t have to say anything else to Plant. I’m just going to prepare to face him in the ring on November 6.
"I’ve been in the ring for huge fights like this a lot of times. For him, it’s going to be a challenge being in there for a fight of this magnitude for the first time. He’s going to have to control his emotions.
“The secret to me and Eddy’s relationship is our discipline. My mind is so strong and I’m going to use that to my advantage in this fight. I’ve never been involved in anything like what happened at the first press conference between me and Caleb. Whether it sells the fight or not, the most important thing for me is to become undisputed."
Canelo has some stellar names on his resume including the likes of Billy Joe Saunders who he rates as a more difficult fight than his upcoming Plant test.
And the Mexican superstar has refused to rule out taking on YouTube star Jake Paul in the ring further down the line in his ever-successful career.

Yes. "Adjustments." Because Plant is such a dangerous opponent. :D
Plant's garbage. Canelo could literally show up with a hangover and knock out this nobody.
But then again.... that's what the hype machinery does.
Blow up a nobody into a legitimate opponent.
That way Canelo looks better than what he really is.
They failed miserably in pumping up Yildirim prior to that fight.
Carl Froch believes he would have beaten Canelo Alvarez had the two ever fought in their prime.
Canelo is aiming to complete is collection of super middleweight belts in Las Vegas on Saturday when he takes on Caleb Plant, and will cement his legacy as undisputed champion and one of the all-time greats of the division. And Froch, himself a former unified super middleweight champion, says he would have “loved” to fight Canelo.
“Me in my prime at about 34, 35-years-old against Canelo Alvarez, I think I would have been too much for him,” Froch told Pro Boxing Fans. “I beat Lucian Bute in that obliteration and I had the rematch with [Mikkel] Kessler and then two [George] Groves fights, which I wasn’t fully motivated for the first Groves fight, but I was for the second. I was a mature, seasoned, professional world champion. I had suffered defeats, come back and won.
“I think that myself, the viewers and the listeners can think what they want, but I back myself in fights. Against smaller people like Arthur Abraham, who was knocking everybody over and everybody was frightened to death of getting in with him, I just totally outboxed him and battered him like he’d never been battered before.
“So, when I look at Canelo Alvarez and I’ve met him and shook his hand before the [Billy Joe] Saunders fight, because we’ve interviewed him on DAZN. I was looking at him and sizing him up and he’s about 5ft 8 and I shook his hand and his hands aren’t very big.
“We didn’t have a pull or a push or anything, it was amicable! But I was looking at him thinking, ‘I’m not so sure you’d get near me and if you did I’m happy to put one into you, because of the size’. But who knows. At the time I would have took the fight, it would have been amazing.”
Canelo has not lost any of his past 15 fights since his only career loss, to Floyd Mayweather in 2013.
https://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/boxi...cid=entnewsntp
Been trying to catch some of the build up but wouldn't say Plant is completely garbage. Dude is legitimately skilled on the backfoot. But he's simply not on Canelos level and I can't get beyond his lack of finishing fire v Truax. He's a belt holder and likes to paint and as ol Teddy would say he watches his work. That's going to get him run over by Canelo in what as said prior just feels like a coronation ceremony for Super Ging sweeping up all the trinkets.
canelo would have iced carl. if caleb truax was touching sweethands up, then canelo will damage him
I think Carl Froch would be too big for Canelo and if he could not knock him out he would simply outbox him from range. If everything was equal with judges and gloves.
Joe Calzaghe confident he would have beaten Canelo Alvarez in his prime
Joe Calzaghe claims Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez will go down as one of boxing’s all-time greats - but insists he would still have beaten him.
Canelo aims to add to his legacy when he faces Caleb Plant for the undisputed world super-middleweight title at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena in the early hours of Sunday.
The Mexican ring legend has already reigned as world champion at four different weights and Calzaghe has hailed him as one of the sport’s finest.
But the Welshman, who is regarded as the best super-middleweight ever, cheekily adds he would have been too good for him.
“If he continues the way he’s going and winning titles, he has to be in the top 10 of all-time based on what he’s achieved,” said the former unified unbeaten king at 168lbs.
“And his longevity, longevity is important as well. Winning the title is one thing, we’ve seen fighters win a title and then lose it, so for him to be champion for all these years is impressive.
“He’s still only 31. He’s just a true, true champion and I have a lot of respect for him.
“But of course I would have won, yes, I’d have won! He’s never fought a Joe Calzaghe and I never fought a Canelo, but it’s a fight when I look at it that I would love to have had.
“Of course, I wish I was around now when Canelo is around. Of course it would be a tough fight. It would have been a great fight, but he’s 5ft 8ins and I think I would have won.”
Canelo holds the WBA Super, WBC and WBO titles, having dethroned Brits Callum Smith and Billy Joe Saunders and wants the IBF crown to complete his set from the unbeaten Plant.
Although Plant is taller than Canelo and has a longer reach, Calzaghe feels he lacks the power needed to win.
Calzaghe, 49, said: “When you look at fighters like Smith, a very good undefeated fighter, I thought his height and reach would give Canelo problems, but it was nothing to him.
“It’s going to be a tough fight for Plant, he’s never been in the ring with someone of the calibre of Canelo.
“I do think Plant will do well early on. If he fights intelligently, he can be competitive, but I see Canelo winning by a late stoppage or on points.”
https://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/boxi...cid=entnewsntp
Of course now retired fighters want to pump up Canelo as an ATG... with the disclaimer that Canelo would beat everyone but him.
The red-haired diva has fukked up boxing world logic BIG TIME.
Everyone wants to make an easy big buck off of him... and no matter how sorry the opponent is... he gets temporarily bumped up to "credible opponent" status. "Dangerous opponent", even. :vd:
Can't wait till this fabrication is no longer relevant.
canelo came in at one hundred & sixty eight pounds pounds, caleb weighed in at one hundred & sixty seven pounds
Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant purse and prize money for undisputed title fight
Alvarez split from his $365 million deal with Golden Boy and Dazn last year but will still take home a whopping $40 million for his fight with Plant this weekend.
Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant will both enjoy huge paydays from tonight's super-middleweight clash.
Either Alvarez or Plant will be crowned the first-ever undisputed 168lb champion in boxing history in Las Vegas.
And Alvarez will earn $40million for the unification fight, whilst underdog Plant will take home $10 million, although both fighters' pay cheques will not be final until the pay-per-view sales of the fight are released.
Boxing's biggest attraction Alvarez will step into the ring for the fourth time in less than a year against Plant having won super-middleweight titles from Callum Smith last December.
He then retained his belts against Avni Yildrim in February and captured Billy Joe Saunders' WBO title in May to leave him one short of the complete collection.
Alvarez signed an 11-fight deal with DAZN in 2018 that would see him bank at least $365m. At the time, Alvarez's contract was the largest ever signed by a professional athlete.
The first fight on his deal came against Rocky Fielding in December 2018, with Alvarez picking up a quick stoppage win to become a four-weight world champion.
Alvarez made $35m for his 2019 wins against Daniel Jacobs and Sergey Kovalev but the Mexican filed a civil suit against his promoter Golden Boy and broadcast partner DAZN last year over their alleged failure to deliver on the terms of his mammoth contract.
Alvarez sought $280m in damages from the lawsuit and the right to schedule fights without input from Golden Boy or DAZN.
He didn't fight again for over a year after his win against Kovalev, reaching an agreement to exit his deal in November 2020.
Alvarez returned against Smith in December of that year, but in the first fight since parting ways with his promoter he banked considerably less at $20m.
For his wins against Yildrim and Saunders this year, the pound-for-pound No.1 took home $35m.
Alvarez's fight with Plant will mark his fourth as a free agent.
His old broadcast partner DAZN recently partnered with Matchroom Boxing and is in the process of transitioning their introductory price of £1.99 to £7.99.
Matchroom supremo Eddie Hearn said the broadcaster's introduction of pay-per-view is "inevitable in certain unique situations".
"Absolutely 100 per cent the aim of DAZN is to bring you traditional pay-per-view nights we've seen in the last five years as part of the monthly subscription," he told Boxing Social.
"They need to have a pay-per-view functionality for unique circumstances, that's the keyword. When you look at it now, Oleksandr Usyk vs Anthony Joshua.
"That is not gonna go as part of your DAZN subscription, being quite frank with you."

How long will Plant last tonight? lolol... I say at least 5 rounds. He does not look like a quitter, so Canelo would beat him down for the first few and would stop him in 5.
Anyone actually drop a dime for the card? Not this guy. Weird thing the 'Golden Goose' top star of boxing and man didn't even get a Stickie :-X. For the life of me I cannot see Plant with the firepower and long durability to prevent getting hung up on the ropes and once he is put there Canelo may very well fold him in half by 10. When's the last time Canelo was cut by a punch?
canelo just carried caleb & made it close to keep uncle al happy. canelo ended it when he wanted
I didn't buy but watched on a stream, no sound, in hospital at this time(nothing serious) so I was a bit distracted when watching on the soundless stream. Looked like plant gave alvarez some trouble, maybe his toughest fight since golovkin, plant landed some jabs and made alvarez miss more than usual, I thought the rounds were fairly close with alvarez being ahead whilst he landed the more powerful punches and he got the stoppage in the end. But I was a bit distracted and couldn't hear anything :S
ive seen that one a lot of times. thats how primo ramos knocked out frankie randall. you put your hand up and you think youre safe and why wouldnt you be, after all you put your hand up. until you get hit and now youre really hurt because you let yourself get hit with a punch you let yourself think couldnt hit you.
I bought the fight and I bet on Plant- not a huge bet ($500) but I thought maybe he would be tricky and slick enough to score the upset. I thought it was a good fight- Canelo puts on a ton of pressure and Plant wilted. Good win for Canelo and I think the guy is magnificent- he has a great resume and I love when fighters unify and clean divisions out.
Some thoughts on potential next fights:
1. Charlo: Interesting fight for me as Canelo is small at 168 and Charlo is bigger, faster, and more explosive. I like Canelo more and don’t really like Charlo but this would be a really interesting fight in my opinion.
2. Benevidas: Another really interesting fight against a much larger opponent. I think Canelo will be more mobile but Benevidas is a monster and is effective walking people down behind a great parry defense and strong jab.
3. GGG: Great trilogy fight that should be more convincing this time for Canelo. GGG is older and I feel like he has regressed where Canelo has improved.
4. Bivol/Beterbiev: Similar to when people wanted Floyd to fight Winky Wright and GGG- I’m intrigued by that fight and would pay to watch it but think it is a bridge too far and unfair to ask of Canelo. It also speaks volumes to their dominance that people feel their only viable challenges were far above their best/natural weights. I think both of those guys are too big and strong for Canelo- I don’t see him being competitive with either.
Thoughts on the Ward, Joe C, Froch discussion:
1. Ward: Too big and too good/ versatile- I think he beats Canelo convincingly. No shame in that as Canelo is above his best weight and Ward is an ATG, and maybe the best 168 pounder ever.
2. Joe C: This is a really intriguing fight as Joe was very mobile, fast, and active in his prime. I’m not sure that Canelo’s punches discourage or seriously hurt Joe, but I think that is possible. This would be a very good fight and I slightly favor Joe’s activity/volume and awkward style.
3. Froch: Great match up. Canelo would have to use his legs and outbox Froch. Even with that, Froch could turn it on and walk him down- forcing a shootout. I like Froch in this one and think it is a bad style match up for Canelo.
Only seen round 10 and 11 so far as I missed the repeat but Plant did well. Canelo landed a left hook that hurt Plant and the uppercut knocked him down. Plant was tumbling all over the place and was finished by the time Canelo knocked him down a second time.
Plant earned Canelo's respect.
Beterbiev would be the biggest challenge for Canelo at this moment in time.
https://i.imgur.com/BQSHhkT.gif
"ANOTHER ONE !" ..............As DJ Khaled says
So Canelo becomes undisputed within 1 year.
And against 3 undefeated fighters
Very-Very impressive
Last year most people on here said the toughest opponents that Canelo would face and lose to were Saunders or Plant. Now that he smoked both of them people say they were C class fighters and no good.
Now Plant and a few months ago and Josh Kelly Vs David Avenesyan - This was another example of a FAILED Philly shell defense. Money's style doesn't work without counters guys. Only Floyd could do it cause he was fast AF with quick cat like reflexes.
Canelo DGAF about being out boxed by anyone; he just sticks to the plan and listens to Reynoso
I'm not accusing Canelo of anything but I do think it's more than interesting how a guy can move to 154 and look even stronger. He's gone from not having the power to beat Matthew Hatton to knocking out super middle weights and breaking arms of light heavyweights.

Or maybe he didnt have the man strength when he fought Hatton and Hatton had never been stopped until he met the then 20 year old Canelo.
No one aside from the fake media called Saunders and Plant as any real tests to Canelo. Where do these people come from who are "calling" these fights? Everyone wants Canelo to fight the Charlo's or Andrade... That and they want, by some fantasy, for Andre Ward to come out of retirement.
THANK YOU, @ykdadamaja
I've only been calling Plant a hyped-up bum dredged up to give Canelo an easy win since Day One.
So I have NO IDEA in hell where this came from.
Maybe I should've mentioned it a million more times. :vd:
